Recovery

I had a bad night. Like an epic bad night. Smokes and booze and the worst part is I feel all I've done is blown.

Flame away.

BlackHelicopters 08-30-2013 02:23 AM

Flame

DaneMcCloud 08-30-2013 02:29 AM

Awesome! You've just proved to yourself that you're alive and human.

Now, get your shit together.

007 08-30-2013 02:41 AM

I'm having a bad night and it won't be over for 5 more hours.

BlackHelicopters 08-30-2013 03:28 AM

Mine ends at 7:30

Anytime you are feeling down on yourself, just remember, atleast you aren't Clayton!

Just pop an adderall. Great for hangovers

Or a few lines of blow. That always clears the head after a night of carousing...

Sandy Vagina 08-30-2013 08:20 AM

Shake it off.. sleep.. in a few days, it will all seem a distant memory, and you will be fine.

mlyonsd 08-30-2013 08:27 AM

Shake it off, figure out what caused the relapse, fix it or avoid it.

You can do it man.

ChiTown 08-30-2013 08:57 AM

I've never had an addiction to alcohol or drugs - or anything that was unhealthy, for that matter. I can only assume how difficult this must be.

I know you are a good dude, and a good Father, Diddy. Don't let this become the norm. Use this as an example of how you were able to overcome the let down. You can do it, man.

tooge 08-30-2013 09:03 AM

Have a big ole glass of hot v8 juice on ice. Sleep. Tea luxe you are human, and mistakes happen. This is simply a reminder of why you quit in the first place

Stay hammered my friends.

Saul Good 08-30-2013 09:12 AM

What's the back story here?

Simply Red 08-30-2013 09:27 AM

just smoke pot and buy some electric cigarettes.

Simply Red 08-30-2013 09:32 AM

if you're feeling that horrible anxiety after a long night of drinking, Drink a ton of water - you can literally piss out a hangover - it'll take a solid three gallons though. Also walk (excercise)

I used to have manic hangovers that made me feel borderline mentally ill. I had to give it up entirely - maybe you can moderate - maybe not - it's up for you to decide and then 'take it from there'

stevieray 08-30-2013 09:40 AM

meh...so what?

don't be so hard on yourself...one night of partying isn't going to be your downfall.

You made a mistake. You aren't a mistake. Big difference.

Get back off the ground, and start stepping again. Make sure you have people supporting you, and you'll do it.

My experience is that on the road to recovery, often the biggest failures come before the biggest breakthroughs.

I'll pray for you, man!

I use Arizona Diet Green Tea. The antioxidants in that kick ass for a hangover. Drink about 3 glasses of that before bed and a glass after you wake up along side water and you're good to go!

there sure COULD be something to fix

maybe he hung out with people that are a challenge his sobriety
maybe he went to a situation or place that added extra pressure to his sobriety

part of dealing with an addiction is avoiding danger situations

I don't know what happened but evaluate, adapt, overcome is a pretty safe plan for dealing with most things.

pick yourself up
dust yourself off
learn from what happened
try again

i mean no insult to J Diddy, just a general philosophy

Buehler445 08-30-2013 11:32 AM

Remember the way you feel right now. Lock it in your memory bank. Then use it as motivation to not feel like that again.

All the best bud.

disagree....JDiddy has his act together...IMO, you're over thinking it based on emotion.

Kiimo 08-30-2013 11:59 AM

The worst thing about becoming an alcoholic is not getting to drink.

'Hamas' Jenkins 08-30-2013 12:02 PM

Sorry. I can't offer any words of advice other than a suggestion to make this a learning experience rather than the beginning of a shame spiral. You reset your clock. Just try to let it run longer next time.

ShortRoundChief 08-30-2013 12:04 PM

There are some very nice, kind words being said in this thread. Obviously, I didn't think that's how it was going to work out.

Thanks guys. It helps. I feel like I got face raped by a locomotive.

At the beginning of July I had a massive hangover the night after a bachelor party. I woke up the next day with an absolutely crushing sense of depression. I don't know why, but I just felt like emotional shit that day. Come the night of the wedding, I resolved to drink, but pound so much water that a hangover was inevitable, because I never want to feel like that again. I must have drank two gallons of water that night.

evidently it wasn't together enough

nobody is saying J Diddy failed, just that he should learn and regroup so he can try again.

Your the one with emotion involved defending a friend

imo he doesn't need defending ... he need support and honesty

mistakes happen ... learn from it and move forward, try your best to not make the same mistake again.

No insult meant towards J Diddy ... i wish him nothing but success

these statements contradict each other..

I'm not defending him based on emotion, rather logic...dude is solid and doesn't needed to be patted on the head.

...or drink the 3 gallons the night before when you are drinking - as long as you are not trying to pick up females - as you will spend the entire night in the men's room.

seriously - i know exactly what you are feeling - and you have not lost - you have learned.

vailpass 08-30-2013 02:05 PM

You're good man. Ease up on yourself, let it flow.

tecumseh 08-30-2013 02:11 PM

Hangovers definitely suck. I was a heavy drinker in the eighties, quit for a few years in the nineties, however when I would fall off, I would hit it super hard and be sick and depressed over my inability to turn it off for good. About ten years ago I started hitting beers only, maybe 2 or 3 a night on average. Haven't fallen off or had any problems since. I'm not condoning or advising, just relating my personal relationship with the liquid mistress.

Mr. Flopnuts 08-30-2013 02:31 PM

Shit happens. We fall off the horse sometimes. You can lie there floundering, or pick your bruised ass up off the dirt and climb back on that sumbitch. Your choice. I wish you well with whatever you choose. :thumb:

I survived the day, including the hangover and dentist appointment. You know the dentist has got you by the balls when you try to reschedule and they tell you the next available time is in December. However, when you go they schedule you an appointment for a filling in a couple of weeks.

Too bad the dentist was a smoking hot chick who had to stick her face by my mouth reaking of last nights excesses. I should have smacked her on the ass.

No question - nothing seemed the same after some of those nights - I think I messaged you on some of those really off nights around 2009ish, attempting drunken humor - but it's a bunch of virtual 'personal' full moons, that glow above your being, it's just they're not illuminated bright - it's rather a cold shade of black.

I've mentioned it before - I had reached a point where I got on my knees and cried aloud for help. ... And it came.

If this woman was your wife then kudos because she was blazing hot. Too put it mildly: I needed no coaxing to keep my mouth wide open.

Either way I didn't do anything.

As for judging chili, nah. I got the biggest test in my life this Tuesday so I'm on full on study my bones to a grind mode.

My hangovers have become more about emotion/anxiety/regret than any physical symptoms. I feel fine physically, but I just have this cringing, anxious feeling about money spent, things said, actions taken the night before as of late when I drink too much.
