Tony Moeaki tweets goodbye to Kansas City Chiefs
The*Kansas City Chiefs*have been patient withTony Moeaki, but with a brand-new regime in-house, that patience has run out.The talented but injury-plagued tight end tweeted Saturday that he's no longer with the team:
The*Chiefs*used a third-round pick on Moeaki in the 2010*NFL Draft, and he rewarded the team with a productive 47-catch rookie campaign. The wheels fell off from there. After undergoing a knee scope after the 2010 season, Moeaki sustained a*torn ACL during the 2011 preseason, shelving him for the year. He returned last season to catch 33 passes for 453 yards and one touchdown, but Moeaki has been a roster-bubble candidate all summer.Out indefinitely with a*fractured shouldersuffered earlier in the month, Moeaki never was part of the plan for*Andy Reid*and the new-lookChiefs. Kansas City will go into the season withAnthony Fasano*atop the depth chart and rookie*Travis Kelce*behind him. We'll find out soon enough if reserves*Kevin Brock*andDemetrius Harris*make the cut.Moeaki, just 26, has a chance to continue his career if he can get healthy. Bandied about as a possible trade target for the*New England Patriots*this offseason, he's no longer property of a front office that obviously found no takers for Moeaki's services. |
Been a bad week for the Iowa homers...

He was cut? NO WAY!!!!
|
Man getting cut in multiple threads is horrendous. I wonder if he'll break an eye socket when the tear drops

Hopefully he didn't break either of his thumbs while texting.

When asked to respond to how he felt about being cut Tony Moeaki simply stated, "I'm Tony Moeaki. I don't get cut. I get broke."
Shortly afterwards he was life flighted to KU Medical center for treatment of an apparent sprained hemorrhoid. Bottom line is we all wish him well. It takes a special man who, despite being made out of glass, can finish 1 game let alone the barely double digit numbers he accomplished in 3 years in KC. |
Too bad he couldn't stay healthy- pretty good guy- but that's the Breaks.
|
Did Tony Moeaki get cut today?
|
I'm hoping that Kelce didn't catch Moeaki disease. Seems like he has been constantly dinged.
|
I always liked him, shame about the injuries.
|
He was a good player when he could play.

It is too bad the kid couldn't keep from getting hurt though. He had a high talent level. I visit tons of different teams boards when I have the chance. This has been a rough year for getting hurt. |
Did we free up some money for that "veteran ILB" it's rumored we're looking for???
Bart Scott retired and signed a deal with CBS to do their pre game show...so who do you think fits the bill? Is Takeo Spikes too old? |
Quote:
No he's not too old, never mind if he will be referred to as 'Grandpa Spikes' by his teammates. |
Fasano will put up good numbers, I'd bet. I'd be more concerned if we didn't have Fasano - Fasano may get adopted a little later on, by me.
|
I hope Kelce has a big year and breaks out as one of Smith's top targets
|
I'm anxious to see who claims Moeaki.
I bet he lands on a winner. |
Am afraid all these jokes are going hurt his feelings. He can't afford to hurt anything more he may never recover.
|
He came out of college injury prone and what a shock he was injury prone in the NFL.
Thanks Fat Scott. Again we know which TE available in the same draft Fat Scott passed on to pick Moeaki from his beloved Ferentz's program (Jimmy Graham). |

Too bad. He was a good athlete and good guy. It was stupid to spend a 3rd on him, though. Could have gotten him cheaper and squandered the 3rd on some other player that would be out of the league by now.

Yeah, this wasn't expected and necessary. What a ****ing joke of a player Brokaki was in KC. Such a waste, but so predictable the moment the selection was made.
