Man I hope so. I'm not sure when we have ever had two legit QB prospects on a Chiefs team. Seriously I'd even back off Smiff if this happens.

I think the Eagles got a steal with Matt Barkley. They aren't putting any extra pressure on him and he can make sure his shoulder is good and healthy for next year. I think he will take advantage of this time for him to compete for starting next year.

Wish we could have got Matt Barkley in the second or third round. He looked pretty decent from what I saw in preseason.

Didnt look half as good as Bray.
Seriously, we have a QB to groom. Is he not good enough?

I still think Wilson could develop into a solid backup or more on a shitty team, I just wonder sometimes how much of this is dependent on it being the Raiders. I don't think his film is as impressive as Mallett's was, but Wilson can ball.

Srsly? Clayton is saying QB's from this draft who have never played in a real NFL game are worse then Alex Smith!

The Chiefs know what they have in Smith. Hopefully they can make it work with all that talent around him. Damn sure better not lose twice this year to that poorly run organization in Oakland!

Hes talking about BRAY DUMBASS.

And for all your talk about Oakland developing QBs those in the know seem to think we have the best rookie QB in the league.

Eh. I'm pretty happy we got Bray. I would have been happy to get to draft any of the quarterbacks even as lousy of a draft class this is. I know they don't have to start right away but develop them as if they were going to get the opportunity anyways.

That shoulder on Matt Barkley put him at a high risk to take. Don't take any risk but we don't have any reward with Alex Smith. I think Matt Barkley arm could hold up with the advancement in medical field just like Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles legs holding up.

There was a time when the Oakland Raiders believed Tyler Wilson was a realistic option at quarterback. On Monday, the Raiders signed him to their practice squad.

Wilson was cut Sunday. One day later, the 2013 fourth-round draft pick passed through waivers unclaimed. Former NFL scout John Middlekauff appropriately summed it up:

It's been that type of summer for Wilson, who struggled in all aspects of the game as he fell behind Terrelle Pryor, Matt Flynn and fellow rookie Matt McGloin. Wilson -- a subject of conversation in the latest "Around The League Podcast" -- now will have to settle for the practice squad.

As for matters related to the Raiders' 53-man roster, coach Dennis Allen told reporters Monday that he wouldn't announce the Week 1 starting QB for "competitive reasons."

However, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport -- citing a source informed of the move -- reported Monday night that Raiders coaches have informed players that Pryor will start Sunday. Rapoport said Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Olson has taken a liking to the second-year pro.

Playing behind a leaky offensive line, Pryor's mobility gives the Raiders their best chance to win on a weekly basis.

"So you're telling me there's a chance ..."

Pasta Little Brioni 09-03-2013 10:35 AM

How bad do you have to be to lose to McGroin?

Not that we have much room to gloat here but when you look at the last 3 years and what the Raiders have done its astoundingly stupid.

2011 traded a 1st and 2nd round pick for Carson Palmer
2011 gave a 3rd round pick in supplemental draft for Pryor

2013 traded Palmer to Arizona for a swap of 6th and 7th round picks, in other words, nothing.

2013 traded for Matt Flynn giving up a 5th and a conditional pick later.

2013 drafted Tyler Wilson in the 4th round and cut him.

Flynn loses starting job to Pryor.

So far I think Oakland has used a 1st a 2nd a 3rd a 4th and a 5th round draft pick the last 3 years to end up with Pryor and Flynn at QB and everything I have read neither have any chance of being a quality NFL starter.

But hey they 'tried" right?

yes, they tried the True Fan way

trade for a vet - check (alex smith)
trade for a backup - check (matt cassel)
don't draft a first round QB - check (Chiefs)

Lineman bust as well but it doesn't seem to matter. Trezzlle Jenkins, Brian Joziwak. Lets keep drafting OL and DL. That's how you win in football.

That is how you win in football. You can have a great QB, but without OL and DL, you're basically counting on getting hot for a period of time to win it all. When New England's strength was their defense, they won 3 Superbowl's, since they've decided to play homerun ball, they haven't won shit. Matthew Stafford of the Lions is a pretty good QB, but they've got a mediocre OL and a mediocre, overrated DL, they aren't going anywhere.

I think all the facets are important to have. Giants have Eli, but without their dominating DL, they wouldn't have won shit. The one area I think teams can kind of cut corners on is the secondary, if you can generate a consistent pass rush and have depth along the DL, you can get by with lesser players in the secondary, much like the Giants did, but if you're strong alone the lines of scrimmage, realistically you're always in the game.

Aww , I see a dumbass has shown his face. As I stated before , he had no fumbling issues in college and throws a great spiral, and guess what ???? The footballs in college are the same ficking size as the footballs in the NFL.

And guess what , he made a $450,000 paycheck already and gets $6,000 a week on the practice squad . Bitch ! Your job at Taco Bell won't get you that in 3 lifetimes.
