Forecast for Sunday....brrrrrr!!!

Partly cloudy and 38 for a high. The colder the better. Put the chill on those Bolts!

Nightfyre 11-19-2013 05:17 PM

I hope it gets cold enough that Rivers tears freeze to his face.

gblowfish 11-19-2013 05:18 PM

I'm thinking this might be the first true cold weather game for SD this year. We already played in cold windy conditions in Buffalo. This won't be below freezing, but nippy.

Bearcat 11-19-2013 05:38 PM

Might need a jacket for tailgating.

lewdog 11-19-2013 05:47 PM

Too cold, won't watch.

Not a true fan. Speedo or bust

ciaomichael 11-19-2013 06:25 PM

It will be close to freezing. Latest GFS model showing a game time temp of 35, which should be the high for the day. On the night before, Saturday night, the low should be around 14.

FlaChief58 11-19-2013 06:28 PM

Phyllis's vagina will be frozen shut causing him to throw a hissy fit and many picks

007 11-19-2013 07:02 PM

Not well, from what I've heard. In cold weather he has a tendency to check it down a lot and not to look to intermediate routes.

38 really isn't that cold is it? I would like to see the game in single digits.

People better not bitch about the noise. Cold weather means it won't be as loud.

I can't help where my friends get their seats. But you know I have sat through some shitty weather plenty of times.

TimBone 11-19-2013 11:48 PM

I made the drive from Louisiana for my first game at Arrowhead a few years back. When we left Louisiana that morning it was 76 degrees outside. When we hit KC that night it was 16 degrees. With the heavy winds it felt more like -5. Talk about a complete change in weather.

CoMoChief 11-19-2013 11:53 PM

sigh....god damnit. hope it's not windy. wind is what makes it a bitch to deal with.

I don't know, but the coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco.

He should be used to the cold.

It was -15 at my house this morning. And windy. I wouldn't mind it being 38. Or 15 for that matter.

The Iron Chief 11-20-2013 07:36 AM

As long as old man winter saves some cold for the Donks game I say bring it on.

Gonzo 11-20-2013 07:46 AM

Jesus, 38? Really?
I sit in a tree waiting for Bambi in single digit weather. Talk about your vaginal discharges.

Hey Chiefs fans,

I didn't have access to start a new thread, so I thought I'd post a couple quick questions here. I'm flying out to KC with a group of friends this weekend to watch the Chargers hopefully turn their season around at Arrowhead.

This is our first trip to KC and we are staying in the Power and Light district. Any suggestions for easy/cheap transportation to Arrowhead if we aren't renting a car?

The last couple years (in Chicago and New Orleans) we found fan hosted tailgates where we paid to join and it was all you could eat/drink. I know the Chiefs have a Bud Light Tailgate, but that doesnt seem like the best way to experience real Arrowhead tailgating. Does anyone know if there are any fans at Arrowhead that offer something similar?

Thanks

If you mean turn it around for the worst, then OK.....

This is our first trip to KC and we are staying in the Power and Light district.
Well, there's your second mistake....

No city bus service to Arrrowhead any more. Check with your hotel, they may have a hotel shuttle. If not, hire a limo. It's just a few more bucks than a cab.

The last couple years (in Chicago and New Orleans) we found fan hosted tailgates where we paid to join and it was all you could eat/drink. I know the Chiefs have a Bud Light Tailgate, but that doesnt seem like the best way to experience real Arrowhead tailgating.

Bud Light? BUD LIGHT?????? **** THAT SHIT! BOULEVARD WHEAT BEER!!!

Does anyone know if there are any fans at Arrowhead that offer something similar?

Maybe if you talk nice, Luv or one of the other regulars will invite you to the tailgate. Just don't bring Bud Light. Does that pass for beer in San Diego?

Thanks

No not that one. San Diego and Miami in 1989 and a Miami game in 2008.

Miami wasn't technically under 5 but the wind chill was.

REDHOTGTO 11-21-2013 09:22 AM

i spent all of the 90's and early 00's at every game, i've seen as low as 5 & enough rain to float a battleship, i can handle 38, it's a cake walk, bring it on.

Yeah, in theory, but the Chiefs don't seem to play very well either when its cold...

gblowfish 11-21-2013 09:56 AM

I remember several bad weather games over the years at Arrowhead.

For rain, the night game vs. Seattle. There was a famous picture of Derrick Thomas sitting in a big puddle of muddy water with his helmet off. Since my seats are on the front row, the water was cascading down the stairs like a waterfall and filling in around our feet. The water was above the ankle in about 10 minutes. I remember a punt hitting the turf and just going "sploosh" and sticking nose first into the mud. It didn't even bounce.

I also remember a bad rain game under Marty vs. New England. It rained so hard that my roof sprung a leak, and I missed the game. I was bailing gallons of water out of my attic.

There was a really bad rain game at old Municipal when the Chiefs played the Oilers, and both teams fumbled like six or seven times each. I think it set the all time record for fumbles in a game.

For cold, The Colts kicker who will remain nameless game was extreme. So was that 2008 game vs. Miami. I think the daytime high that day was five above. There were games where it snowed the night before vs. Denver and vs. the Atlanta Falcons where the field got pelted with snowballs.

I remember there was a November game under Gansz. We were playing Green Bay, both teams were tied for the worst record in football, so whoever lost was officially the worst team in the NFL. It was whizzing down rain, and not quite cold enough to snow. So the rain would get all over you, then freeze. Just miserable. And the Packers kicked our ass that day too... making us the worst team in the NFL on that day.

So indeed, 35 degrees and no rain or snow is a walk in the park!

Dartgod 11-21-2013 10:31 AM

I remember a game my brother and I went to in the 80s. It was late in the year and we had around a foot of snow a day or two before the game. Colder than shit and very few people in the stands. I seem to remember it was against the Chargers, but I can't find it. Maybe my memory is clouded. I can't imagine why. :bong:

Anyway, as I was looking through our past seasons on Pro-Football Reference, I see that we played Miami twice in the regular season in 1989. Week 13 and 16. Anyone know why that is?
