Since he seems to be a player we can't escape I looked him up. I didn't realize he came from the US Airforce Academy. He's apparently a little faster than McCluster. That's all I've got.

thabear04 11-22-2013 11:11 AM

The season is over for Kyle Williams.

One week after he was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs, the receiver and return man was placed on injured reserve with a torn ACL.

Before the the team announced the news, Williams took to Twitter on Friday to confirm that his fourth NFL campaign is a wrap:

Kansas City re-signed receiver Chad Hall to fill the void, but losing Williams -- who also tore up his knee last year -- strips the Chiefs of an experienced return specialist.

Williams didn't contribute in Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos after hauling in 12 catches for 113 yards this season with the 49ers, who cut him earlier this month after three-plus seasons in San Francisco.

One REALLY hopes the Chiefs weren't wanting him to BE a return specialist, though.

So who do you guys want to see added to our WR core next season? FA, trade or draft...who's your guy?

...I think it goes without saying that we have a need at WR. Personally, I wanted to see us pull a trade for Josh Gordon at the deadline but that didn't happen.

As scary as this sounds, WR was a need for the first 3/4 of Andy Reid's tenure in Philly.

Not really.

The Eagles were 19th in passing yards or worse in each of Reid's first 5 seasons there. They were 9th in passing yards in 2004, which is also the year TO arrived.

There was one year they were 20th in yards even though they were SEVENTH in attempts. Sound familiar?

He was their #2 receiver for 4 or 5 years straight I believe. And then Westbrook took over and he was their #1 or #2 receiver.

I do think Reid cares about receivers now, but those first 5 years are hilarious. You go two years in a row trotting out Charles Johnson/Torrance Small, and then somehow 3 straight with Pinkston/Thrash. Eagles fans must have been losing their shit before TO

Lloyd is done. He's heavy and out of shape. He's not taking any calls.

That said, I don't see why a guy like Chaz Schilens or Mohamed Massaquoi or even Deion Branch wouldn't help this abyss of a receiving corp.

Anybody that thinks Dorsey has final say without significant input from Reid is fooling themselves.

They're a TEAM and have been from the beginning.

It terms of power i would definitely put Reid above Dorsey

I think Reid recommended Dorsey

Reid delegates personnel stuff to Dorsey but still has final say unless Hunt get involved.

I disagree. I think they are peers working as a team, as equals. I would imagine that as in most hiring situations anybody at the table has veto power if they absolutely can't live with a hire, a trade, etc. But rather than having it come to that they probably just get on the same page and both agree on decisions before they are made. This is how most successful partnerships work.

Reid has stated numerous times that Dorsey has complete power over personnel. Andy wanted it that way. Obviously they work together well but final word is Dorseys but I doubt he would just shove players on the roster like dorkhead did. It is stipulated that Andy reports straight to Clark. Clark learned the hard way not to give the GM too much power.

could dorsey go to Hunt and get Reid fired?

could Reid go to Hunt and get Dorsey fired?

Dante84 11-22-2013 02:44 PM

You know, I trust Dorsey with the WR's. If he can replicate this coming offseason with that group what he did with the CB's this year, we'll be in good shape.

The Packers have ALWAYS had WR's. Dorsey knows how to find them (Cobb, Jordy in the 2nd). Dude has an eye for WR talent.

I think the big difference is Reid probably has less leverage. He probably spends less time on personnel so he probably has a less strong opinion.
