Playing the Patriots, in New England, in sub-30 temps doesn't bode well for Peyton

So, I'll start with the weather. The forecast for Sunday in New England shows a mostly clear night, HOWEVER, also predicts sub-30 temperatures, and sub-20 real-feel.

http://i.imgur.com/bC7I4Sg.png

Peyton's stats for sub-30 temperature games are as follows;

8 games (7 full games), Manning is 2-5 (.400)
175-285 (61.4%), 1761 yards (6.2), 76.7 QB Rating

If we extend the temp to sub-32, his rating drops to about 70.

As for going up against Brady and the Patriots, Peyton is 4-9 vs Brady all-time, and 6-10 vs Bill Belichick all-time. Despite not being very good, those records aren't horrible either.

But, when playing in New England it gets a whole lot worse. When playing in New England (including playoffs), Peyton is 2-9, throwing more interceptions than touchdowns, and has only one game without an INT.

Look at this however you want, but combining the fact that Peyton is going into New England where he doesn't usually fair too well, and that it likely going to be well below freezing. This is looking to possibly be a good game.

Bugeater 11-22-2013 10:07 PM

This shit is ****ing hilarious...so many people have been predicting doom and failure for Manning ever since he went to Denver and none of it has come true. Give it up already.

It's not even going to be close to doom and gloom. It just may not be as 'record setting' as it has been.

Denver doesn't need to have a complete meltdown in order to lose to the Pats in New England.

LiveSteam 11-22-2013 10:11 PM

Man,Pats D is just ****ed right now.
Not that Brady cant out score the biggest Forehead ever.

What's the spread on that game?

Prime Time @ the pissed off Pats... I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Patriots win this one.

KcMizzou 11-22-2013 10:14 PM

Brady kinda owns Manning.

philfree 11-22-2013 10:19 PM

We control out own destiny so we don't really need to throw ourselves on a pier just yet. The Chiefs need to just beat the Chargers this week. We can't beat the donks till next week so we shouldn't worry ourselves with them until then. Just beat the Chargers!

They most definitely didn't have a meltdown against us, and we were a few moments of 'shooting ourselves in the foot' away from winning it.

They didn't have a meltdown vs the Colts.

Peyton can have a good day, and still lose.

True. It's really up to us whether we get the 1 seed or not. But it sure would be nice to see Denver lose another game before they come to Arrowhead.

That cold will hurt Denver bad. Manning lives by the air attack and cold like that has always hurt his game. The nerves in his neck will tighten up some like they did last January. No way he wins in that weather on the road. He almost never does.

Don't mean diddly dick if the Chiefs don't handle their business vs the Chargers.
I'd be more concerned with Rivers coming in here against a defense that suddenly can't seem to get to the quarterback than whatever the hell Peyton and the Broncos are doing.

It's not about him getting injured. Most of us have given up on that one. It's about his decreased production in New England and in freezing temperatures.

KcMizzou 11-23-2013 12:53 AM

Manning's great, he's not super-human (for ****'s sake)

Wasn't Denver supposed to lose because of the weather last week? Didn't we have a double digit lead pretty much the entire game?

In the last 4 games of 2012, Peyton threw for 1,150 yards, 8 TD and 2 INT.

Awful.

Hog's Gone Fishin 11-23-2013 12:51 PM

Doesn't matter at all who wins and loses this week, it's next week that counts. Whoever wins the Chiefs / Denver game will have the #1 seed.

If we win and Denver loses this week and then Denver beats us at Arrowhead , that means both teams are 10 and 2 and Denver will have beat us twice.

Look at the Broncos schedule after NE and KC.

Texans
Raiders
Chargers
Titans

The Chiefs need to basically win out to win the division, or pray that New England beats Denver so the Chiefs have 1 more game of breathing room.

Pretty much this has to occur or it's wild-card weekend on the road.

If it were to happen our magic number for the division/#1 seed would be 1 if the Colts drop one during that time as well.

If we both lose two games it would depend who we lost to.

Conference w/l plays in to tie breakers. If Den lost to the Colts and KC that's two conference losses.

If KC were to beat Den and lose to the Skins we'd have only 1 conference loss and win the division...

Let's assume that the Chiefs only other loss comes at the hands of the Colts.

Then it would probably skip all the way down to strength of schedule or something has division and conference and common opponents would be the same.

Yeah, I'm still amazed NY is hosting a Super Bowl in an outdoor stadium. Wasn't that the reason that KC couldn't host in 2015, the NFL said they needed a dome?

But yeah, if Denver actually does get to the big game, it wouldn't be too far fetched to look forward to a nice loss for them IMO, especially with some of the teams in the NFC.

Then again, it's not like any of the cold weather NFC teams are worth a damn this year. It could just end up being a shitty game. I really hope that Farmer's Almanac prediction comes true.
