Los Angeles devastated by drizzle

While we argue over tornadoes and cold weather... LA was devastated this week by .26 inches of drizzle. I hope all of our California posters survived this natural disaster. This is some horrific video.

Since it's Australia, I'm guessing that the hailstones are also highly poisonous.

tk13 11-23-2013 08:41 PM

It's also pretty appalling that the Lakers and Clippers went ahead with their basketball games at Staples this weekend in light of this disaster.

Oh of course. We've got a reputation to uphold.

Very, very true. I doubt Jason Clarke would have recognized me today (or I him) had it rained before the party we were at this afternoon.

LMAO

The way the break into regular programming for a tornado warning in the midwest is what they do in Southern California for a little bit of rain.

Aries Walker 11-23-2013 09:05 PM

Further proof of my suspicion that LA Story was actually a documentary.

You go in your basement.

Oh wait...

Aries Walker 11-23-2013 09:54 PM

We get tornadoes every once in a while in Maryland or northern Virginia. Usually all we get is a crawl at the bottom of the screen.

I'm an OG Valley girl. :P Like, totally. And I never even SAW a basement until I moved to the midwest. They used to tell us to stand in our bathtubs for earthquakes. Try that. :D

Bathtubs in a central room are actually pretty decent tornado shelters. It's the same concept - protect yourself from falling house. It's pretty rare for someone to actually be killed by being sucked up into a tornado like in the movies.

That's actually comforting to know because my basement is freaking scary. Swear to God I would stand up to 99% of men before I would 99% of spiders.

Donger 11-23-2013 10:13 PM

I had the misfortune of being in SoCal all week. Flights into SAN were delayed up to three hours.... because of rain. When I finally did get back to Denver, the pilot came over the PA to apologize for almost overrunning the runway because it was 10F and just a little icy.

You really should have included some links to sites where we could donate. Maybe we could fly a banner or something.
