***CP get together - KU v. Texas, Feb. 1***
 

We try to do one of these every year. Anyone is more than welcome to come by -- the more the merrier.

The game this year will be the 3 o' clock game vs. Texas on Feb 1.

This little get together will be in Topeka again. The venue has usually been Lazy Toad, which I'm okay with but not opposed to other suggestions.

Past participants have included: Ceej, Mr. and Mrs. Plow, Braincase and mini Braincase, luv, Mr. and Mrs. Lzen, PAAAAANTS, sedated and girlfriend, mikeyis4dacats, Mr. and Mrs. ArrowheadHawk.

One is on a Monday & the other is a Wednesday. Weekend games only as some of us travel up.

You know it's because all KU fans are worried about the Clones this year; and Ceej obviously doesn't want a get-together where KU is getting thrashed.

Yeah, it doesn't have to do with the fact that both of those games are during the week and people drive 1-2 hours away.

Plus, ISU is a sure-fire final 4 team.

3 of those are also hockey weekends.
Out of those 9 weekends, two have decent Kansas road games (@Tex and @OSU). Both are also hockey weekends.

Schedule came out for work through the first of February. Between classes and work, there's no chance I can make it this year. :(

I wanna make a go at coming out to 'Peka, it's just a matter of having a project go-live for work scheduled in the morning... Hard to commit when I don't know if it'll be complete in time to make the drive. :(

I like LT's set up as far as TVs go. If I remember correctly the only TVs at BT are tiny and at the bar.

That would work. I don't recall BT having tiny TVs but then I guess I don't really pay that much attention. I'm pretty certain that they have TVs all throughout the restaurant, though. Not just at the bar. But LT for the game and BT later is a good plan as far as I'm concerned. Just no Skinny's. Last time, Mr. Plow tried to start a fight with somebody. I'm pretty sure we were banned from that place. :D

Yep. Barnes is proving that he's not a terrible coach like many of our fans believe. He's certainly no Bill Self, but I don't think he's bad. Better than Scott Drew anyway.

I'm still not 100% sure WTF happened that night other than the brother of some local MMA fighter was mad that I didn't know who his brother was.

Not sure what time I'll officially be leaving, but I'm sure it won't be any later than 11a - so that would put me in Topeka at the latest around 1pm. I don't mind heading up there to reserve what we need - just give me a number.

With this size group its definitely not a bad idea to have someone head up early. While I never mind bellying up to a bar as early as I can, I won't be able to leave KC before about 1, putting me there around 2.

If the wait staff has any recollection of our group from the last 2 years, they won’t have any issue letting someone squat at a 12-top for a little bit.

I will try to get up there early. Of course, that never seems to happen for us.
