Chiefs at Colts playoff game discussion thread

For our sanity I hope we win this game. 20 years is a long time. Please. After that I'm cool. Let's just get this W then go from there. It's time.

OrtonsPiercedTaint 12-29-2013 07:53 PM

We need a wooly mamath to put the scare into Luck

Don't settle for just a win.

Rain Man 12-29-2013 08:06 PM

The league wants the Colts to win. They want a Manning-Luck matchup. It would take a miracle for KC to win. Sorry to break the news.

What day is the game gonna be on?

One playoff win would at least get that 20 year shit off our back. It could happen seeing how we are not completely out matched against Indy.

Hammock Parties 12-29-2013 08:20 PM

This will be Jamaal's magnum opus.

The only question is if the shitty horn player in the corner ****s up his notes.

Chiefs Pantalones 12-29-2013 08:25 PM

I want this so bad. Ugh.

Easy 6 12-29-2013 08:26 PM

If the starters put in as much effort as the backups did today... we'll run away with the damn game.

Buzz 12-29-2013 08:28 PM

So everyone say's Manning cant play in the cold, has anyone looked into Alex Smiths record in the cold? Oh, and I know this is an indoor game, thought it might play to his favor.

Great Expectations 12-29-2013 08:29 PM

What is the injury status for the 3 Colt defenders who left todays game?

Gravedigger 12-29-2013 08:32 PM

The last two years the 4 seed and 5 seed have played on Sunday while the 3 seed and 6 seed have played on Saturday. So I'm hoping it'll be the same thing and Sunday we'll play instead of Saturday.

Chiefs Pantalones 12-29-2013 08:34 PM

@mellinger: Chiefs-Colts playoff game will be the early kick on Saturday: 3:35 Central.

Hammock Parties 12-29-2013 08:35 PM

Chiefs will play Colts at 3:35 p.m. (Arrowhead Time) on Saturday, January 4.

If we somehow overcome the "fix"... we may be ok. I could see the league switching gears and going for an Alex Smith VS his old team SF or Reid VS the Eagles. Of course Rivers vs Brees might tempt them as well.

You nailed it !! And to think they will do this even without Reggie Wayne which tells you how bad our 2ndary and pass rush will be next week.;) You always go with the better QB at home especially in the playoffs !!!

Mr. Laz 12-29-2013 08:38 PM

Chiefs need to be practicing a 2-deep safety zone all week.

It really helped the 2nd stringers today

we need to mix up our defenses

No word yet but it was "Vontae Davis with a groin injury, defensive lineman Aubrayo Franklin with a knee injury and linebacker Bjoern Werner with an ankle injury"

Those could be HUGE.

I was thinking about this earlier.

It seems a lot of our safety and DB problems tend to come from miscommunications and actually being overly aggressive.

We try to jump every route it seems

There is even more pressure this year than last year since his record setting QB stats have rocketed to the moon;)

We at least we get to be first at something. If don't find our pass rush we will be out first as well. Luck is good and will find someone unless you put heat on him. Our pass rush decline is why we lost twice to Denver and at home to SD.

I think we beat Indy by 2 scores going away.

cdcox 12-29-2013 09:05 PM

We are 2-5 the last 7 weeks. All 5 losses were to playoff teams and the two victories were against also rans. Our overall record against playoff teams is 1-5. We beat every non-playoff team that we faced. That is an amazing level of consistency.

We don't need don't need any help from the NFL to lose this game all by ourselves.

So you're saying it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that it's yet another first round bouncing at the hands of Indianapolis.

Really hard to argue with math.

Really hard to argue with math.

Math also said the Steelers had a minimal shot at making the playoffs... but if not for a couple real strokes of luck, they'd be in right now. That's why we watch sports to begin with, it isn't predictable.

Math said SD had less than 20% chance all season.

O.city 12-29-2013 09:13 PM

We need to not give up big plays next week. I'm all for playing aggressive, but damn our safeties take alot of chances.

Just keep everything in front and make teams go on long drives. It's what we did to Rivers today.

Corey Redding left too, if im not mistaken. I sure hope he and Davis are back or we may be in trouble next week.

It seemed like we showed a ton of two-deep safety looks today against San Diego. I'd like to see more of that this weekend; we shouldn't really fear their ground game.

Either CP has lost it's burst, or this place seems quiet for a team about to go to the playoffs.

The reason we will lose: Kendrick Lewis

RunKC 12-29-2013 09:53 PM

Justin Houston is gonna be huge in this game. This secondary looked so much better today because we were getting pressure on the QB.

I really hope they look at Catapano as the guy up front a lot of Saturday. He did a fantastic job today. Huge reason Rivers was uncomfortable in the pocket.

That may be but he's still our best cover corner. Tolers ok but to much of a gambler and also made of glass. It's slim pickings behind those two.

I have a hard time basing anything off the previous Colts game with the effort they gave. They went out and laid an egg on purpose.

I'd say it could make an impact if he's out. But Davis has been beat a lot this year too.

Look, ESPN and the entire sports media is going to slobber all over the Colts for the next 6 days. They are the hot team coming into the playoffs, they beat the 49s, Seahawks, Chiefs, and all that jazz. Luck and Manning, Manning and Luck. Then we go in and kick their ass. It will be fun. I can't wait.

Don't know about that.

The chiefs have lost what 5 of 7?

They will definitely be slobbering over Saints Eagles, and 49ers packers.

Doubt Espn pays very much attention to Chiefs Colts.

Matter of fact, I almost would bet house money, that the stat line will be the widest between Chiefs Colts.

It's not impossible to win multiple playoff games with Alex. And I won't even say it's impossible to win the Super Bowl with him if things fall right.

I don't think a 2 win team has ever won a playoff game the following year. He has history on his side... and he knows it. He's just trying to play it off like he knows what he's talking about. If the Chiefs win a playoff game it will be one of the great turnaround stories in NFL history.
