Do You Blame a Higher Power if we Lose?
I've been known to have arguments w/the man upstairs ..... I'm always wrong..... but it makes me feel better.

Uh no. This game will come down to QB play and our Wr's. They must be solid or we lose. I remember running for 300 on Indy last season and losing so don't give me the JC is the key crap. Alex and Bowe are the keys to victory.

Is Roger Goodell a higher power?
|
Receivers catch the passes, and the D avoids giving up 30+ points on 50+% 3rd down conversions... then KC wins. :)
|
Roger Goodell is the Fourth Reich.
|
You mean, like Pioli?
|
|
No, I will blame Kendrick Lewis.

This is something that has always pissed me off. It ends up relating to war talk and tragedy talk as well. Why is it that when somebody wins god gets all the credit, almost every time.... "I'd like to thank God, and also those who supported me in reaching my goals". Said every winning athlete ever. "I can't believe we lost, it must be Gods fault", Said NO ONE ever. There's always this acknowledgment that god must be right, and this just must be part of "his plan", as if there is some hidden kernel of soul gratifying enjoyment that is right in front of you, and you just don't understand it yet. It can't possibly be that you just got the shit end of the stick and lost, and god doesn't care. He gets a pass every time shit goes wrong, but when shit goes right, he is the first person to get the credit. I wish I had a job like that. So flame away on God all you like KCWolf, he isn't being held accountable by 99% of the religious population. |

I like to think that God, or whoever you consider your higher power, has more important things to do than care about a game.

You mean William? He lives up on the second floor, I hear his dog sometimes. How do you know William?

Yeah you're right... I much preferred that 2-14 team. |
I'm sure the Flying Spaghetti Monster has more important things to do.

99% of athletes come from very poor back grounds and shitty dangerous neighborhoods. It is very long odds that they make it out of those hoods. Its usually a family member, coach, or some other, what people of faith would call "blessing" that helped them beat the odds that the majority of their peers were not able to overcome to to be in position and have the opportunity to win the game. Its not "oh thank you God for placing that ball in my hands" Its "Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to be here so I could make that catch" Stevie Johnson is reeruned and just one idiot. |
