ESPN Ed Werder & Johnny Football

From Ed Werder on ESPN radio "2 NFC GM's have stated than Johnny Manziel is the best college football player they ever seen & definitely worthy of the #1 pick."

Jimmya 01-08-2014 11:52 AM

Just got a text from espn that Johnny Manziel will enter nfl draft

Eleazar 01-08-2014 11:53 AM

ESPN is getting ready to apply the Favre/Tebow wall-to-wall coverage for years to come. Of course they are hyping him.

Jimmya 01-08-2014 11:54 AM

I agree....These dudes were all over Johnny's nuts minutes ago.

BlackHelicopters 01-08-2014 11:55 AM

God help us if Manziel somehow ends up in New York. Nausea times eleventy.

Really, Really? I think Bo Jackson might take exception to that.

Dunerdr 01-08-2014 11:57 AM

I heard he's good. Can he play safety?

Jimmya 01-08-2014 11:57 AM

Would he instantly start over Case Keenum?

HemiEd 01-08-2014 11:58 AM

Hog Farmer just may be whacking off something besides a pig.

He is ... The Most Interesting Man in the World

saphojunkie 01-08-2014 12:36 PM

Johnny Tebow.

chiefqueen 01-08-2014 12:41 PM

I holding to my prediction of Johnny Raider.

ptlyon 01-08-2014 01:02 PM

We definitely need to trade all of our draft picks so we can get him & get this rigged playoff situation off our hands.

Mile High Mania 01-08-2014 01:04 PM

This guy isn't built mentally at this point to handle the move to NFL QB, IMO.

Bambi 01-08-2014 01:04 PM

The fix is in for Manziel just like it is for Luck.

Dayze 01-08-2014 01:08 PM

he will get killed and be out of the league in 3 years.

Of course he would.

You don't draft a QB #1 overall only to sit.

That'd be like drafting a tackle #1 and playing him on the right si.... oh.

He's not even the best college QB in the past decade... what a joke!

Agreed. If he isn't successful, he'll crack under the pressure ala Vine Young.

Not even close to the same personality as Young. He won;t crack under any pressure. The guy is already well off financially. The game is all about having fun to him.

You're gonna be hearing that a lot more.

Hammock Parties 01-08-2014 07:04 PM

He reminds me of Doug ****ing Flutie.

Going to be a huge disappointment.

I have a hard time believing he will be #1. Might as well go all in, Ditka style, and trade up for him then. Discuss.

/joking

In what universe was Flutie not a disappointment. If the Texans draft Manziel and he has Flutie's career, he would be considered one of the biggest busts ever.

He was fine for what he was. He was drafted very, very low.

If Johnny Manziel's career has the value of an overachieving 11th rounder, that would be disappointing as ****.

His ceiling is going to be Jake Plummer.

If Flutie was 6 inches taller, where would he have been drafted?

What was he, like 5'7?

Isn't that odd. Flutie and Manziel have a very similar skill set and Flutie was drafted in the 11th round while some delusional people think Manziel might be the best player in the entire draft. The hype machine has really over inflated Manziel's value.

I dunno, people were bounding around saying Geno Smith was the best player in the draft last year.

Gravedigger 01-08-2014 08:23 PM

Manziel could be great, but I see him as more Jay Cutler than Drew Brees. His entire demeanor comes off as arrogant and selfish.

No successful NFL QB has been arrogant or selfish?:)

He will be the 2nd QB picked in the draft. Probaly at #2 or #3.

I wonder how many of the people who are delusional about Bray want no part of Manziel because of his "maturity problems..."

Shit, I'd still take Manziel but he wants to live the Joe Willy Namath lifestyle and that has to be carefully monitored.

Well, Bray is ultimately a much much lower risk that Manziel at this point. :D

My problem with bray personally is his wreck less demeanor on the field and how skinny he is. Brays tool box is full. That's the intrigue.

We have no way in knowing since we were not at practices to see if he's developing during the season.

Since Smith wasn't dressed against San Diego he would have been the backup. That shows some confidence.
