Tony Gonazlez Unhappy He Wasn't Traded - Ruh Roh
Man is this guy ever happy or what?
Evidently he wanted to be traded to play for a contender. You wanted to play for the Atlanta clowns so shut up TG your check cleared. Geez.... http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2014/2/7...-falcons-trade "You trade me to a team that needs me, that wants to make a serious run in the playoffs and the Super Bowl. You get something in return for a guy who you know won't be here next year. And the season isn't going anywhere anyway. That's rational." At the trade deadline, Gonzalez sat at a restaurant with his wife and waited to hear which team it would be. When that call never came, he was not happy." |
He is a prima donna jackass that has never won anything meaningful. He doesnt help teams win playoff games.
|
It was dumb for Atlanta to not trade him. What did it benefit them to keep him for the rest of the season? Now he's gone anyway and they have nothing for him. I blame the Patriot way.
|
He's also unhappy that this is a repost
|
It was crazy not to deal him but they wanted too much for a guy that will only play two months more. I read a second and Tony thought they would just do the right thing like KC did. His fault.
|
Who the **** is Tony Gonazlez?

Really who is going to give up anything for a guy who's only there two months. When was the last time a last minute TE addition catapulted a team to a Super Bowl victory?
|
This man is a dick.
|
What were they at the trade deadline, 2-5? Bad, but not out of it. Can't blame Atl for not trading him. It would have been like telling the rest of the team and the fans--give up, season's over.

**** him.
Love me. |
Why does everyone still pine for him?
He was a jerk when he left |
Personally, I could give 2 shits if Gonzo wants to win a champ and wanted to be traded, All I care about is if he could or can help the Chiefs win a championship. If he can, great! If he can't, then stfu.
|
I don't see why we have to demonize him. I'm sure he made his feelings known at the time to the team in private, which is what you should do if you want out.
Atlanta knew when he signed there it was because they were contenders and his primary motivation was to play for one. They shouldn't be surprised when they fell out of contention that he wanted to go because it would be better for both sides. |

Doesn't act classy - just wants to appear classy...

Seems to be more of a jerk every day.

Tony Gonzales has reached DaneMcloud level of douchebaggery. Okay, maybe not quite but he's inching closer every day.

For the fans of Atlanta Tony G played his role as expected - the dedicated professional with only the team in mind, happy and content. But the reality is what we are hearing and is the same as the rumors before the deadline. I don't blame him for wanting a shot at a SB ring with another team - aging players in the last years of their career, it's done all the time and some even become 'legendary' for awhile. ;) I hope he has great memories of his time in KC and goes into the Hall of Fame as a Chief. |
I enjoyed watching him when he was a Chief, but once he left he became just another guy to me.
|
Whatever! Tony played the whole Prima Donna role perfectly here. He INITIALLY said he DID NOT WANT TO BE TRADED - then as the Oct. trading deadline neared, he changed his mind and said that IF Atlanta could improve them selves by trading him, that he would not be opposed to such a move but AGAIN STATED THAT HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO ANYWHERE. BOTTOM LINE - IF he would have been man enough to say, "TRADE ME, " he would have been. However, THAT wasn't the case and the clock struck 12 and he was still a Falcon and no SB ring for his career. I'm a fan of Tony's, but it serves him right how it all went down. If you want something - you OWN IT, you don't play the passive-aggressive prima donna role.

The best way for Gonzo to have gotten a ring was to lead his team to a championship. As great of a player as he was he just wasn't an inspirational leader. I find the whole "trade me to a contender I deserve a ring" mentality distasteful. Gonzo needs to shut up and ride off into the sunset to his high paying TV gig.
|
He held all this crap in for 16 years, and now that he's retired, he decided to uncork the bottle. I expect to hear him bitch about Elvis Grbac at some point in the next week.
|
Waaaaaa **** off Tony G.

I said it a long time ago.....who effin cares about Gonzalez. Stay down bitch.
|
Well he can always BUY a ring.
Hey TG call the clowns over at Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Vegas. They have rings. |
I really don't care if he's a prima donna. He would have been a huge help in our playoff push and playoff game, and he would help us out next year. Tony G losing a step is still better than most tight ends in the game and a hell of a lot better than what we have.
Was it worth a high pick? No. But if they can still get him at a reasonable price, that would be gravy. I'm sure he'd rather go somewhere like New England. |

If I were a Falcon fan, I'd probably have been pissed that they let him go down with the ship when they were 2-6 instead of flipping him for a pick.

There are some absolutely amazing HOF players it's hard to believe don't have rings.
Guys like Marino, Gonzo, etc. Then you meet them and you know exactly why... |
Quote:
Why is Marino a dick? I can see him being one. Even moreso now that he doesn't have a ring. And Russell Wilson does hahahahahahahahaha |

On top of that he's a POS in his personal life... |
Tofu Tony is showing his objective enough for Shannon Sharpe's seat
|
Tony always wants to be traded from teams that aren't winning.
Most of his teammates probably want him traded too, because he's an incessant complainer who brings everyone around him down. I still can't get over hard knocks, which portrayed him as the whiniest little vagina I've seen in a football uniform. There's a reason that Tony has the rep of being the biggest crybaby in the league. |

Tony g is different. More than anything, his fatal flaw was sticking with a coach who was a known playoff lower and an organization that refused to give him a good QB. He should have chased rings instead of money. But his reasons for losing are very different. |
How many miles are they gonna get out of this one article coming up in ESPN the mag????
I've had enough TG news for a while. |
Tony reminds me of one of our posters... old and slow.
He can go cry for another team, don't want him anywhere near KC again. |

I've always said he was a douche. I love when people argue with me about that and these things keep coming out.
|
I'm really tired of seeing TG jerseys at the games every week
give it up hillbillies |
There is a lot of anger here. Gonzalez has been gone for 5 years now, maybe its time to get over it.
