He was a good deep threat. Very Donnie Avery-like. Don't count on him being the answer though.

Joe Morgan - WR - Free Agent
Free agent WR Joe Morgan is visiting the Chiefs. The Saints surprisingly failed to tender Morgan as a restricted free agent, and it's hard to imagine them re-signing him now after ponying up $9 million a year to Jairus Byrd. New Orleans was already in very tough salary cap condition. Morgan is a 26-year-old vertical stretcher with 4.38/4.40 wheels. |
This ****ing sucks.
|
I would definitely take him over Avant.
|
Upgraded Avery, I'll take it.
|
Bargain bin it is

Signed, Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles |

If he checks out, this could be a good signing...but tbh I'd rather just wait and draft 2 receivers. This may be the best receiver class in draft history. |
Amani Toomer
Bobby Ingram Donnie Avery Now Joe Morgan lol |
Joe Morgan > Avant...
In saying that.... I hope to God neither of them end up in KC.... We need to draft a WR. |
Joe Morgan
Career Stats: 10 receptions 379 yards 37.9 average |

Since he is coming off an ACL, he will probably take a 1yr "prove it" contract. Quote:

League minimum with incentives.
Low risk, high reward is how I see it. |
Does the spirit of King Carl just come on perfectly good GMs when they sit in his chair? We've lost 5 guys the first day and signed....?

Joe Morgan is probably more Tony Moeaki than he is two of the top 100 players in the NFL. |

And the reason you sign these receivers is because instead of committing massive dollars into a washed out veteran, you can give these guys 1-2 year contracts and either the veteran has to prove it or a rookie steps up. If the guy is cheap, then go for it. Avery is completely unreliable, and Jenkins has been shaky too. |
worth bringing him in for a look....if he is recovered from surgery he could be a viable weapon...why not?

Camp fodder. Works for me.

Sounds a lot like last year bargain WR, bargain LB. Always shopping at the $5 bin.

Draft a guy in the 3rd or 4th and pray for a Dressler type guy to break out, that's the choice for this year... not conceding defeat as anything can happen, but right now its kinda looking like an in house stalemate.
Blame the offensive lack of production before we even start, I'm gonna go ahead and blame the defense, nothing new just hoping for some draft picks to wake up... its hard to have faith in that. Not even ONE big signing on either side of the ball this year? |

Hali can be beaten by a strong tackle with quick feet who can shuffle his feet without crossing them. Flowers can be beaten by double moves that require a stop and restart to game speed, not to mention height against a 6 foot and above player. Berry is a proven stud in close but has also proven beatable against the pass against tight ends and bigger receivers on the outside... that MAY be fixable with a weight drop and reschooling in technique. In the end, there is a buttload of WHAT IFS going on right now, to even maintain what we had last year several of these what ifs will have to step up in a big way... its a very risky strategy. |
This guy breaks loose.
|
Next big Star article from the premier voice of the staff (if there is one)... "Chiefs Will Look Inward For Improvement in 2014".
I'm not totally down on things, but this regimes guesses better be close to right to avoid a huge sophomore slump... KC fans are TIRED of "new regime/cap realities" excuses. MAKE IT WORK... just do it. |
at first glance I read it as "Joe Rogan".
lol. No shit. |

If they can sign him at the minimum why not.

Donald Avery will surprise you all next season - just wait.

Dude has some serious wheels.
He's a deep threat. But you have dink and dunk Alex Smith. You don't need him. |

Chiefs visiting with a WR who Saints fans at @SaintsCSC wanted to keep http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2014/3...-morgan-saints … |
Who?
|
Quote:
There's not that much film on him he's never made it through a full season due to injuries and drinking and driving issues. That should be your concern. Saints know what they are doing. |

I worked a game in Houston where the Saints played the Texans during preseason. Him and Chase Daniel hooked up on a 80 yard td route hit in stride and the Texans were like WTF? |
