Spend it or lose it

OldSchool 03-11-2014 10:36 PM

ROFL Wow. This is what they came up with after the purge and waiting on all of that money?

RealSNR 03-11-2014 10:36 PM

This makes my Oday Oboushi pick in Sandbox look pretty good

Simply Red 03-11-2014 10:37 PM

Even Al Davis can get more done than CHunt - and he's dead!

BossChief 03-11-2014 10:40 PM

Stupid raiders.

Simply Red 03-11-2014 10:42 PM

I've been on pretty spotty today - so the Chiefs signed no players today, correct?

DTLB58 03-11-2014 10:43 PM

I thought he was a Panther. UNI. Kurt Warner's school. About 15 minutes from me.

wasn't this exactly how the first day went down last year? No signings on the first day last year either IIRC.

RealSNR 03-11-2014 11:01 PM

BTW, this is more than we gave Eric Winston in 2012, and at the time we were paying for a dude thought to be one of the NFL's best RTs in the middle of his prime.

Prices have gone up, yes, but the Raiders are also dumb****s

He was. Great player and outstanding kid. He came to UNI as a TE and worked his way into an outstanding tackle.

I really wanted the Chiefs to draft him.

What's wrong with building in the trenches? Even after these 2 signings by the Raiders (saffold, Howard) they STILL have the most cap space of any team. These contracts are front loaded so the Raiders will have more cap space next year and the year after. These tackles will be making 5million in years 2-3.

The Raiders still have plenty to spend.

There "wasn't a big difference" between the Jets' offer and Howard's asking price, a source said Tuesday night. "It wouldn't have been a stretch for them, but Idzik drew a line in the sand." Talks broke off Tuesday afternoon and Howard got on a plane to the West Coast, becoming an unrestricted free agent at 4 p.m. Howard has a comfort level with Raiders offensive line coach Tony Sparano, formerly the Jets' coordinator, and that played a role in his decision.

What team hasn't won a playoff game in over 20 years?

A. Jets
B. Chiefs
C. Raiders
D. All of the above

Nothing wrong with it, you guys just went out and spent way too much on fringe starters. Howard and Saffold are both average players that you guys paid a ton of money to. Don't expect Saffold to be a great LT either like you guys are paying him to be, he's a better OG than he is an OT. Should have kept Veldheer vs signing Saffold for that kind of money.

It's not the players, it's the money you threw at them.

Howard isn't average. He gave up two sacks last year. That's above average in my book.

The Raiders should just draft a RT @ #3 overall in this years draft!

Lol

Hilarious write up from rotoworld

Justin Tuck - DL - Giants
Free agents Justin Tuck and LaMarr Woodley are visiting the Raiders Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie let his best offensive lineman (Jared Veldheer) walk, overpaid for Rodger Saffold, let reliable Rashad Jennings walk, let his best defender Lamarr Houston walk and re-signed injury-prone Darren McFadden. So how will he spend the rest of his money? Perhaps on two aging, declining edge rushers in search of a payday. Tuck, who will turn 31 later this month, looked done prior to his 9.5-sack outburst over the final six games of last year. Woodley, 29, has missed 14 games over the last three seasons.
