Fisher to LT?
@AdamSchefter: Chiefs HC Andy Reid said he plans to go to camp this summer with former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher playing left tackle.
Sorry if Q |
He better take a left, cause he ain't right.
|
Fisher to QB?
Fisher to P? |
He earned it/said noone
|
I said this several times and caught shit for it.
|
Hopefully through his rookie growing pains he comes back ready to meet the challenge in his 2nd year
|
I hope he's getting ready.
|
Well I hope he got his jitters out last year. Time to ****ing block now Eric. No reason now to be beaten like a drum.
|
1.1
|
I hope he's ready. I'd hate 1.1 to be a fracking career RT. I guess he'll go good with the G we take at 1.23.
|
Is he related to Bobby? Maybe he's better at chess.

When he dominates at LT this year and begins his string of consecutive Pro Bowls that surely will lead into a HOF induction I hope each and every one of you writes him a note apologizing for all the mean things you've said about him.
He's a Fisher of men, you all. A Fisher of men. |
This should surprise nobody.
|
Sure it would be good for it to be a competition for LT between him and Stephenson. However, you can also view it as being better for each to be settled in at their respective position as early as possible so they have as much time to get comfortable there.

Anyone who is surprised I'd an idiot. He was a high upside guy that's why he was drafted. High upside means he wasn't at full potential day 1. I think your gonna find most of what Dorsey drafts will be like this. Kelce, Davis, and Commings are all guys with the equipment who need coached up. If your still confused see Tyler Bray, million dollar arm,10 cent brain, shitty college coaches.

Pretty much everybody here figured he WOULD be the starting LTE, without earning it. |
He played out of position all last season, I for one, am looking forward to seeing him on the left side.

I said he should go into TC as the starter. |
Confirmation from NFL.com
Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Eric Fisher is moving to the position he was drafted to play.
Coach Andy Reid finally confirmed Tuesday at the NFL Annual Meeting that the No. 1 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft will move to left tackle, per SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber. Reid was reluctant to acknowledge the move until long-time left tackle Branden Albert took his talents to South Beach on the first day of free agency. After struggling out of the gate last season, Fisher gradually improved at right tackle down the stretch. With ideal size, quick feet and athleticism, he was billed as an ideal blindside protector coming out of Central Michigan. With veteran guards Jon Asamoah and Geoff Schwartz joining Albert in a Kansas City exodus, the team's offensive line is in flux this year. Donald Stephenson likely will start at right tackle, with newly signed journeyman Jeff Linkenbach penciled in at right guard. Blocking will be a major question mark for an offense that averaged 35 points from Week 12 through the playoff loss to the Colts. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200...ew-left-tackle |
everyone with any common sense saw this coming a mile away.

Eric Fisher needs to EARN his spot, especially considering how poorly he played at times last year. |

Who didnt see him going Left this season with Albert gone?

Alex Smith will be done by the 3rd game

Alex Smith may get decapitated from the blind side.

Probably playing COD all day and watching porn. JFC what ridiculous comment. |
I didn't think they would pencil him as starter without competition with Stephenson.
They shouldn't have, but it seems as if they are. My hope is that they do allow Stephenson the chance to usurp his position. |

We all knew this was coming. He should do better at LT than he did at RT.
|
Maybe I'm an idiot, but aren't jobs earned in TC and preseason?
Me saying he's the starter going into TC just means its his job to lose. They have invested a lot into him. This is how it should be. |

That would be a start. |

Every starter should have to "earn it" to keep their spots but that doesn't mean they aren't penciled in as the starter at whatever position during the off season and preseason. Eric Fisher should have played LT last season and put Albert at LG. |

So he's moving to his natural position? Great!
Kind of a cool training method. Spend a year learning how to do everything with your "off-side," and now that you are moving to your more natural side, it should come more easily. |

He wrecked all the right defensive ends He ran through and he never pulled. He was given a ton of grief for the way he played, In a rookie season when he was hurt But now he leads the offensive line because Branden didn't stay Oooh, oooh, hail to the Fisher King Oooh, oooh the mighty Eric the bad Oooh, oooh hail to the Fisher King The best tackle we ever had The superbowls and all pros are a coming The Fisher King will lead us there He'll pummel all the D-lines just like he was a bear People will look back and question the things that they said They'll probably turn homosexual and offer to give the King head Oooh, oooh, hail to the Fisher King Oooh, oooh the mighty Eric the bad Oooh, oooh hail to the Fisher King The best tackle we ever had When it's all said and done the King will take his place guarding the blind side of God With strength and power and grace. But that's been the discussion all offseason, not whether Fisher WOULD start at LT but whether he SHOULD. |

It's not too difficult folks, he was drafted to play LT but only placed at RT when they failed to trade albert. What sucked is Stephenson was much more qualified to start at RT but they threw fish out there anyway to get him experience.
But here we are, maybe looking at a RT @23 when again Stephenson is better qualified to start there. I just hope that's not the case come May. |

I think Fisher is a better fit at LT than RT. He's not a mauler like you want at RT. He's athletic and more suited to go up against the speed rushers he will usually face on the left side. Just my opinion. If he still sucks ass in preseason or TC then by all means Stephenson should get a shot instead. |

Drafting a T at 1.1 is enough of a waste as it is. |
Sooooooooooo
Fisher - Allen - Hudson - Linkenbach - Stephenson Hey Alex.......RUN! |
Did you guys really think he would not get every opportunity to be our LT?
I expect him to win the job, and do well. He has all the talent in the world. No reason he can't make use of it. |

Any argument to the contrary is hilariously ridiculous and is only being made to be argumentative. There is no downside to this move. You have to see if he is the player you thought he was when you drafted him. |
Quote:
Stephenson is the LT, Fisher is the RT. Pretty simple. |
Quote:
They're going to play him at LT because he was the "safe" pick at 1.1 and they have to do it for PR sake. That doesn't make it the "right' move or a move that is automatically agreed with. But it's no guarantee he's going to be a success there, after watching him get his ass kicked for most of 2013. |

That's what makes this whole "tale of two offseasons" ****ing weird. The smart move would have been to let Albert walk, or take whatever they could get for him, after they drafted Fisher. But they couldn't do that because they had just traded 2 second round picks for Smith. They would have gotten at least a 3rd rounder in this years draft and Fisher wouldn't have had to learn a new position....and then move back.
Now he comes in this year....basically a rookie still....and he has to protect Alex Smith. Hope to God that strength program works out great for him. |
