Facebook rumour claims Jamaal Charles Traded to the Raiders!!????

A customer came in and was all upset. I asked what was wrong?

"Dammed Chiefs just traded Jamaal Charles to the Raiders!!"

:doh!: "Really?" I asked.

"Yes I saw it on FaceBook-so it must be true!!"

Wow we are screwed this year!

LMAO but... it was on Facebook!!

Red Dawg 04-24-2014 06:52 PM

Now that would be the worst move a franchise made in history. Inside the division would make it historic.

gblowfish 04-24-2014 06:53 PM

Those same people probably believed Marcus Allen would play for the Chiefs!....

Oh wait...

O.city 04-24-2014 06:54 PM

If they offered this years, and the next 2 years first round draft picks, would you do it?

Hammock Parties 04-24-2014 06:54 PM

Good move. He's not gonna win a title here. Might as well get some value for him.

If he's going to hold out this offseason, they think he's a year or two from a significant drop off, and they could get a huge haul for him...it could be a smart move. Could. (Maybe)

And would be the least popular move in Chiefs history.

You keep turning to the Facebook joke like you're making a really salient point. I don't think anybody disagrees that Facebook is not a good source of news and information.

The issue is opening up the lounge page and seeing totally ridiculous garbage plastered up there that says "Jamaal Charles traded to the Raiders!?????" I don't care what kind of punctuation you put after it. It's just ****ing dumb.

I can think of only a handful of players that are worth that, and they are all QB's.

htismaqe 04-24-2014 08:04 PM

I fell for it. Shame on me.

BossChief 04-24-2014 08:06 PM

I'd do it for this years and next years first.

Dude is a great running back and hasn't been overused...but he is still a running back and he probably only has 3 years left.

A top 5 pick and another premium pick would be worth it.

Flame away.

Depends. Maybe not. Through several different regimes can you name me two Chiefs first round picks that at any point of their careers have been as good as JC?

Why Not? 04-24-2014 08:56 PM

But, seriously would YOU do it if they gave you picks:

#5
#36

and swap #87 for #67.

Remember this year's draft value is a ++ and the next 2 draft classes look to be considerably weaker.

Yes. Yes I would.

That 5 slot is gonna be a big time tipping point in this draft.

Somebody major is gonna fall to that spot and teams are gonna be calling to move up.

I'd take that deal and take a deal to move down into the teens by adding a bunch of picks.

I love Jamaal and he is one of my favorite all time Chiefs, but that would be a badass trade.

You have to trust the people with the picks though.

Were you happy with last years selections?

I wouldn't be worried he would come back to haunt us cause all players go to Oakland to end their careers. He is just such a huge part of this offense, hell 19 TD's last season!

you absolutely do that before you have to pay Charles a ton of money and end up w/ nothing in return.

RB's grow on trees now a days...And I think Knile Davis, while obviously not as good as JC, would do just fine.

BossChief 04-24-2014 10:20 PM

Highly productive running backs can be found in the third and fourth rounds in today's NFL.

This draft is stacked with quality backs and I think Knile Davis has the skill to be a game breaker if he can hold onto the ball and stay on the field.

If somebody comes calling for Jamaal Charles and offers a serious group of picks, I'd move him...but there is no way someone does that.

I'd rather they get a 28 year old Charles than a barely 21 (in June) Sammy Watkins.

there's no big contract waiting for Charles anymore with his age.
You've seen the market now for RB.

These days they're like condoms. Ride em hard for a while til they're spent and grab a new one or 2 in the draft on cheap rookie contracts.

There's only like 3 elite RB in the league now. Probably around 10 really really good ones, and the rest are pretty interchangeable depending on running style and quality of your line.

In a heartbeat. History shows the shelf life of RB's like JC aren't very long. He's got the potential for two more Pro Bowl quality years, and that is about it, IMO. Whether he does it or not, is the gamble. If someone would unload that type of trade package, it would be a done deal.

Jadeveon Clowney

Gabe Jackson
Jordan Matthews

in the first three rounds.
