Your OFFICIAL First Round Wish List Thread

It's time to put the cards on the table. Who is your guy you want the Chiefs to pick up? My top five wishes for the first rounder (based on where we are currently picking) are

- Brandin Cooks
- Jimmie Ward
- Kyle Van Noy
- Marquise Lee
- Jace Amaro

The top three guys are all interchangeable. Any of those guys would lead me to do a peanut butter jelly dance, however.

Let's see your list, and see who ends up being closest on their prognostications.

Rausch 05-07-2014 09:10 AM

BA TE.
BA FS.
BA WR...

The Franchise 05-07-2014 09:10 AM

Wishlist?

Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

And it ****ing pains me to leave Tuitt off that list...but I don't want another defensive lineman.

I'm taking Pryor and Beckham off my list since I fully expect them to be long gone.

Ward
Van Noy
Cooks
Lee

My wish is that it was over. This 2nd week in may thing has totally killed my interest.

sd4chiefs 05-07-2014 09:18 AM

I wise that the NFL draft was not so over hyped every year.

RealSNR 05-07-2014 09:22 AM

If not, then...
Aaron Donald
Stephon Tuitt

Well I added them because I'll be wishing that they're there at #23. I'm starting to think that Cooks will be gone as well.

Eleazar 05-07-2014 09:25 AM

if Ebron is available and we take him, I think that might be the best difference maker on the board for us over the next couple of years.

htismaqe 05-07-2014 09:25 AM

Gimme Jimmie Ward, Dee Ford, or Kyle Van Noy.

I was watching last night's NCIS a few minutes ago, and thought you'd be delighted to hear that a character named "Zach Martin" was killed and dumped into a septic tank.

(no joke!)

the Talking Can 05-07-2014 09:27 AM

pretty much any WR or Safety, plus van noy or possibly attauchu (sp?)

my 'hope' is that we grab one of them after trading down

if we draft another OL in the first I am declaring dorsey the worst GM in the history of life

CoMoChief 05-07-2014 09:27 AM

Wishlist?

First I hope we can trade down. This draft is deep, and not having a 2nd rounder hurts. But this list isn't just first rd people.

QB
Johnny Manziel
Aaron Murray
Tom Savage (I mean c'mon he has a QB's name)

RB
Dri Archer
Henry Josey

WR
Marquis Lee
Odell Beckham Jr.
Brandin Cooks

DEFENSE
HaHa Clinton-Dix (what kind of ****ing name is this?)
Stephen Tuitt
EJ Gaines
Jimmy Ward

the Talking Can 05-07-2014 09:28 AM

i guess i should add QB as well...but i don't really believe it is an option

The Franchise 05-07-2014 09:31 AM

I'm adding a section to my list.

Players I hope we have a chance to draft:
Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Players I'd be fine with if we drafted:
Kyle Van Noy, ILB/OLB, BYU
Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois
Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Marquis Lee, WR, USC
Dee Ford, OLB/DE, Auburn

Chiefs=Champions 05-07-2014 09:33 AM

Beckham
Ward
Cooks
Van Noy
Ebron
Donald
Lee

There is sooo much talent in this draft, id be surprised if im upset with the pick. I think the only way that happens is if they take an olinemen. Id also be happy with a qb, this crop hasnt exactly excited me though. But id be happy to develop a 1st rounder of our own behind Smith. Otherwise id love Murray in the 3rd.

My interest waned through much of March and April, but now that it is almost upon us, I interest has risen.

I agree.

The May draft is just awful.

RealSNR 05-07-2014 09:39 AM

Assuming guys like Dennard, Barr, and Pryor are off the board and that we don't pick a QB, here are the top guys I want. If we pick any of them, I'll be pretty satisfied

1. Cooks
2. Beckham
3. Ward
4. Ealy
5. Van Noy
6. Matthews
7. Latimer
8. ASJ

CaliforniaChief 05-07-2014 09:43 AM

1. Trade down and pick up a 2nd round pick.
2. Marquis Lee (I think horrible QB's/injury really lowered his stock...guy's a stud.)
3. Brandin Cooks (Playmaker)
4. Dee Ford (Pass rushing is so important, will need to replace Hali at some point.)
5. Johnny Manziel (Why the hell not? No way he falls to us, but that would be crazy.)

Chiefs=Champions 05-07-2014 09:44 AM

What do people see in Ealy? I probably didn't watch him as much as some so im legitimately asking. Do people think he has the ability to cover as a 34 outside linebacker? Or is he more of a luxuary pure pass rusher pick? From what ive seen, im just not that impressed and see him as more of a 43 end..

I haven't watched much of him either, but I'm guessing he's the Hali type who really wouldn't be utilized in coverage all that often.

Attaochu had vastly superior production in college in both Tackles, Tackles for Losses, and Sacks.

He has better length and more versatility in his game. He has a higher ceiling than Ford as well.

The only thing that Ford has over Attaochu is the fact that Ford is more technically sound and developed at this point in his career while Attaochu is pretty raw in that respect. And yet:

Attaochu stats (4years): 196 tackles, 43.5 TFL, 31.5 sacks

Ford stats (5years): 93 tackles, 27.5 TFL, 20.5 sacks

Huge difference in production between the two.

Exactly.

Ealy could lineup virtually anywhere on the line and be effective, from outside the tackle all the way to the DT in dime subs.

saphojunkie 05-07-2014 10:32 AM

I despise Johnny Manziel, but it would be fun as shit watching ESPN knob slob all over us until he inevitably gets knocked into next week by Von Miller.

-King- 05-07-2014 10:36 AM

Beckham
Lee
Cook

I don't anything but WR in the first round.

I would add Jordan Matthews and Cody Latimer. That might be overvaluing them, but they won't be around in the third, and I think they have as much a chance of being a stud for us as Cooks, Lee, or Beckham.

2. Trade back a dozen spots

Other than our pick, I think my top wish for this draft might be for Manziel to fall to the second round. The entertainment value would be stupendous.

TMZSPN would spend all day the day of the first round talking about a second round pick, and then all day the next day indignant at his Geno Smithian slide, and then the rest of the offseason breathlessly talking about how much he has to prove...

It would just be hilarious to me to watch them still relentlessly pimp him after the draft proved that no one outside of Bristol was all that excited about picking him.

Mine is relatively on par with this. Minus Savage (I don't know shit about him), minus the RB's. Also, I'd be cool with that Jordan Matthews from Vanderbilt...dude has some crazy-wicked hands and runs like a gazelle...reminds me of....Keenan Allen or something. I dunno, but I like him too.

Calvin Pryor
Brandin Cooks

Less Excited but happy if we got:

Marquise Lee
Derek Carr
Darqueze Dennard

One of the many things that I like about him is that you can line him up anywhere at WR and he'll be effective. Plus he has the size to dominate in the Red Zone as well.

I wouldn't mind Matthews either.

I'd prefer him over, say, Kelvin Benjamin or Allen Robinson.

Kelvin Benjamin just has bust written all over him. Maybe it's just me being jaded from the Jon Baldwins and Sylvester Morris's of the world.

Agreed. He isn't a consistently dominant receiver against contact like Mike Evans is. He also hasn't had the consistent production that Mike Evans has had. There is also big questions about Kelvin Benjamin's work ethic and the fact that he tends to balloon to 260 pounds.
