With the 140th and final pick of the 4th round of the draft, the New England Patriots select Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU.

That wouldn't be a bad pick.

Why the **** are they interested in Mallett when the Chiefs have the best backup in the league?

The Texans are only interested in gifting draft picks to the New England Patriots.

Mallett knows the system, would probably cost either a 3rd or a 2nd round swap, and would have a year to prove himself, one way or the other.

It would actually be a defensible move for both teams, if O'Brien thinks Mallett has a chance to be a starter. It's not as if he'll be passing on Andrew Luck this year.

It makes a hell of a lot more sense than the Chiefs trading Berry would.

I was gonna post a thread about all the QBs drafted in last few years that are rotting on the bench. Just like 80% of this class will be.

Mallet has done diddlyshit. Any team giving more than a 5th for him is on crack.

That would make 2 of them.

I haven't been impressed with him. The Patriots cut Hoyer, and he was a better QB than what Mallett's shown.

But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and there's always the Raiders. :evil:

I'll do it. He's got potential. But if BB is willing to let him know then something is fishy.
