Really? All you guys are thinking this looks good? Looks a little hokey to me, but FX has earned some clout, so I'll watch your guys' reactions to see if I want to catch it later on.

This Sunday. |
Just a reminder, starts tonight.
|
Will DVR . I read it's a "limited run" series. So does that mean it's basically a miniseries then? Meaning it tells a complete story and won't be any more seasons.
|
I'm hooked.
|
Pretty good. Story line and effects were bad ass. Scene in the morgue was creepy as hell. Thought the acting was pretty meh. Definitely in for next week.
|
Wasn't as good as I hoped, but good enough to keep me around for an episode or two to see if it gets better. Given the talent involved on the creative side I was surprised the writing was so pedestrian, but there were some good scenes. Just wish the main characters would stop acting like idiots -- do you really think if this happened and the main CDC agent found strange worm things that were responsible he'd be walking around with them in a box, admiring them? Stuff like that bugged me but, like I said, I'll hang in there awhile.

Great start!
|
Speaking of vampires I wished someone would remake King's Salem's Lot for the big screen, the first two attempts on tv were absolute disasters.

I liked the pilot. I do hope there is more focus on the undead and less on the lead scientist's personal problems, though.

Yeah, this was terrible but I'll probably keep watching.

ROFL
Airplanes are so big up close! They are like buildings with wings! |

So essentially Abraham , his wife, and another test victim in an Nazi concentration camp were given this virus to see the human effects made Abe immortal but immune to be a vampire, and his wife was killed by him because she turned into a vamp and the other victim turned into EPIC DRACULA with his reaction to the disease.
|
First episode was solid. Higher expectations from those involved but most of these types of shows take a bit to set up.
|
What an absolute shit show. Nothing more than a studio sweep of every cliche and tired story line that drifted down to the floor from shows that were tired out decades ago. Not a single character, just a mishmash of caricatures.
I seriously doubt there was a single line of dialog in the entire pilot that hadn't been said 100 times before on TV or on a Michael Bay movie. My GOD!!! That scene of the father WITH A DAUGHTER, THIS HER!!!! THIS IS A PICTURE OF HER!!!, the CDC guy talked for all of 15 seconds and this malook lunges, slaps him and says 'all you do is talk and talk.' No sentient being on Earth acts like that. Caricatures do all the time, though. The crazy old man that they dismiss out of hand, who stops them in their tracks with inside knowledge he couldn't possibly know!!! Caricature CITY!!!! The CDC dude with important work with thousands of lives at stake who doesn't pay enough attention to his home life. The put upon wife who's moved on to a young punk. The son they both love who she's cruelly trying to take from his father's embrace. Ugh!!! I am stupider now than I was before watching, I just know it. If asked, I could have written that pilot in an afternoon, only I fear I would have slit my wrists in despair before getting it to the printers. |

And yet, somehow, with all the above totally true...,the 2nd episode is 10x worse! I kinda have to keep watching because it is almost entertainingly bad. |
This show is stupid beyond words. CDC can't seem to find a phone to tell anyone he has infectious worms. They imprison the only person who knows anything because, well, I'm not sure. A man flips out about his daughter dying on a plane then doesn't think twice when she shows up (he calls the CDC guy to thank him - not ask wtf someone just randomly dropped his daughter off, not does he inform anyone that she is kind of deadish). A bunch of people who feel crappy would rather not spend any time in quarantine to get checked out because they have orgies and dinners to go to.
This is an absolutely stupid show. Very disappointed. |

Watching on DVR...
|
I heard the books weren't any good, so I'm not all that surprised by the show.
|
After last night I'm only watching now because I'm reminded of my youth watching Creature Feature on Saturday nights.
|
hmm.....so I noticed just last night that I'd missed the premier. I DVR searched and saw that episode 1 wasn't anywhere in sight....so I shrugged and said the hell with it. if I can't start at the beginning I won't start at all (I'm like that...gotta start at the beginning).
but after reading this.....looks like I'd be wasting my time anyways. THANKS CP! :thumb: |
Spoiler!

I haven't enjoyed it. I'm hanging in for two reasons.
1) FX 2) I have a feeling Stoll is going to be a minor star, and I'm a hipster like that. (I liked Corey Stoll before he was good) |
Kind of "meh". Only character I really like is Kevin Durand's Vasiliy Fet.
|
Okay, I just watched this week's episode and I actually thought it was pretty cool. The dad, kid, ex wife drama bullshit needs to go but the main storyline was kick ass this week
|
Here honey here's lunch LMAO
|
I watched like 15 minutes of an episode. Some old guy cut the head off some demon girl and guy who were shooting snake like things out of their mouths. And then the female character was like, "WE CAN'T JUST KILL THEM!" It's like, ok. Nevermind.

Though, on the flipside, the doctor accepted being a vampire hunter pretty easily. Also, did the scene with selling the stolen SUV seem completely pointless to anyone else? |
Gotta say, the last two episodes have really stepped up. Turning into a good show
|
Renewed for a second season.
|
I've missed them all - I will buy on BR is possible - down the road.

No one acts like even a stupid person would act.
- they turn off the Internet for days (yeah right) but the NYSE and Nasdaq don't seem to miss a beat. They could have killed the grid and I would have bought it but this was stupid. - little girl returns home all dead-like and dad doesn't go "I'm so glad to see you but you look sick - let's go to the doctor now!" - rock star manager sees long 5-foot tongue eating doctor but doesn't call anyone - they get attacked by dead-ish people shooting 5-foot tongues out of their mouth and woman is distraught about "killing people" - rat guy gets attacked by sewer people but doesn't call anyone - CDC guy has parasites in box that he carries around but doesn't call anyone - they try to help an infected guy who attacks them with a 5-foot tongue but instead of calling someone they think it better to do a secret autopsy in the basement - dead people attack others in public with 5-foot tongues but everyone seems to forget the next episode -- no one is called not the media, police, or health inspector This is one of the stupidest television shows ever made. |

But basically the Vampire covenant is pissed what the one vampire is doing. These are their clean up crews. It will keep getting better, and I am sure will take liberties and alter it some. |

That I do not remember.
The books were very descriptive of the main vampire. Skin being translucent to see the underneath. no nose and such. Been a few years since I read it. |

BTW, see the similarity :D |

Funny story, I read last month that there was suppose to be a sequel to masters of the universe. But Lundgren hated how the first one turned out so much he said **** off. Thankfully they could not find another person to be he-man. Man that that movie sucked balls. |
Finally caught up. Tuco has some advice for some of the dumbassary in the last episode. If you are going to shoot...shoot...don't talk.
|
This show ****ing sucks. God. I HATED that ending.

Well just seeing the after scene previews for the whole season it looks like the vampire commando/ strike team gets offed.
|
So mad that this shit show is still going and the Bridge got cancelled.
|
I didn't make it past the 2nd or 3rd ep of season one. Don't even remember who this guy is, but I still found it amusing...

hmm....so many don't like this?
I had set a timer after missing the first 4 episodes. I kept waiting for it to catch the first 4 and it never did. so after months and months I deleted the episodes it had caught. then about 2 weeks ago I noticed that I now had the entire first season. so I started in. while it's not the greatest show.....I think it's pretty good. so glad they finally explained why "the master" looks like a frigging IDIOT! lol I'm kinda hooked on this thing |
