V2.0 - ***Official 2014 Training Camp/Preseason Mega-thread***
Version 2.0
Post all of the Training Camp/Pre-season updates, relevant tweets, and general thoughts in this mega-thread.
If something happens to be particularly newsworthy, feel free to start a thread and discuss it there. Don't be a dickbag and "Q" up their thread, unless some idiot posts something like 5 days late.
<a class="twitter-timeline" href="https://twitter.com/ChiefsCamp/lists/kcc" data-widget-id="492413653887356928">Tweets from https://twitter.com/ChiefsCamp/lists/kcc</a>
<script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^http:/.test(d.location)?'http':'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+" ://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs");</script>
WHEN POSTING TWEETS - When posting Tweets, instead of just copying the text, you can actually embed the tweet by clicking "...More" (right next to the timestamp of the tweet)-> "Embed Tweet" -> Copy the embed code, then paste that into your CP post. It will make the thread look a lot cleaner and we won't have to keep clicking away from the website to see the content. Thanks in advance.

I didn't realize there was a formal limit. I was trying to get out ahead of the storm. Good to know in the future, though!
Oh well. I copied the OP over with the tweet widget King created.

Seriously, check the roster if you don't know what I'm talking about.

So apparently Joe McKnight is off PUP and practicing full go? I like that news. I have high hopes for him in this offense, but supposedly Cyrus Gray is looking good....
And also apparently Catapano has a "virus" and hasn't practiced in a week? ****ing ebola.

That's what I was thinking. I noticed in last night's game that there was something like 6 minutes left in the game when Eli was on his second series..

Glad we picked him up. I would love to see Reid have both Charles and DAT on the field at the same time to run some routes. It will be fun to see teams try to figure out how to cover both of them with their LBs and Safeties.

I am just glad DJ didn't break an ankle trying to tackle him.
DAT seems like the 2.0 version of JC- a smaller sleek model with better gas mileage.

I really don't want to see DAT running the ball and taking hits from 300 pound linemen. I want to see him out in space, getting screen passes, and running routes against LBs and Safeties. I'll hold my breath every time he has to take the ball up the middle, which should be never.

They don't have to chase him if he's being asked to run the ball up the middle.
I was speaking of Charles and DAT as receiving threats, not as pure RBs.

So you are saying you cover DAT and JC the same way you would if slow Hillis is in there? :doh!:
DAT has already broke one ankle and has faked out All Pro-sure tackler DJ out of his jock. It seems nobody on our D can even get a hold of his jersey.

DAT's specialty at Oregon was stretch strong side runs out of shotgun. He is good because his feet are so quick/choppy but also has long speed.. that he can stretch the run or turn up field off the tackle.

LOL. To be fair though, our offense raped in 2005. 2011 was just an abortion of an offense.

I think we have the best RB copr (if Knile doesnt fumble) and possibly LB in the league
49ers LB core, all healthy > Chiefs and it's not really close
As for RBs, you can argue for several teams and I don't think there is that much of a disparity.
Eagles (McCoy, Sproles, etc)
Seahawks (Lynch, Turbin, etc)
49ers (Gore, Hyde, James, etc)
Vikings (AP, Mckinnon)
Bills (Spiller, Jackson, etc)
We are among the best at those positions though.

Eagles- Possibly. Leaning towards better than us
Seahawks- No
49ers- Go **** yourself with this notion. They're not even close to us.
Vikings- Possibly, depending on how much AP ages this year
Bills- No

Considering you can't get all of the players right for those teams......your opinion is worthless.

Have they always cut practice for two-and-a-half days before preseason games? Wonder if I just didn't notice that in the past.

That seemed weird to me as well. They're not even just doing one more day without pads.
WTF are they doing? Biking to Cincinnati?

Then it really makes zero sense.
I wonder if it's just "training camp" practices? They will probably break tomorrow and practice at the Chiefs facility on Wednesday and Thursday, where the press can't observe practice

Not sure. Part of the reason I asked is that the schedule reads the same next week, before the game at carolina.

No doubt, covering dat(if he plays up to his potential) and jc would be a very difficult task. I really hope he pans out.

No updates fu*******. Well in other news it looks like we're switching to a 4-3 to save money. Jk but seriously if Tyler bray could turn on the Aaron Rodgers this preseason that'd be greeeeat.

@RapSheet: Name to remember out of #Chiefs camp: Ex-Georgia St WR Albert Wilson. Undrafted, just 5-9, but a playmaker. Real good chance to make it

I'd like to see Wilson and Harrison make it.
Bowe, Avery, Jenkins, Hemmingway, Wilson and Harrison.

He caught my eye a few times while I was up there. Probably a good call.

I'm not in the KC area, but does Metro Sports still have a nightly training camp update with video and discussion?
Always seemed to be a decent amount of training camp info on there back in the day.

Bengals and Niners have better LB corp than we do(until Ford proves his worth)
but I dont think any team has better backs than us. I like Knile Davis a lot though

I'll take Hali, Houston, Johnson and whoever over pretty much any 3-4 LB corps.
