Who impressed you tonight?
Albert Wilson looks like a nice player.
Deanthony Thomas was great in the return game. Travis Kelce looks like a good tight end. Jay Howard played well. Looks like theres depth on the d-line. The Canadian played great at guard. The most impressive was the secondary. They were burnt all night. |
I was impressed with how many times our secondary was called for holding and illegal contact, especially after the refs came to camp to talk to them about it.
|
The royals are doing well.

Impressed by how Alex Smith can be so utterly underwhelming every time he plays.
|
Dave Toub looks like a god.

Dave Toub's coaching.
D'AT's speed as a returner. |

Dee Ford's first step. He was giving some linemen fits.

Definitely DAT. If this was a year ago, McCluster**** would have gone down with the first contact, or if by some miracle he hadn't, he'd have been tackled a second or two later.
That kid's going to make some plays this year. A split second of space and he's gone. Kelce's touchdown was encouraging too. |
Jeremy Guthrie.

That Fisher didn't get hurt

Thomas and Kelce
Then again, I only got to see the highlights. I take it from the stats that our defense looked like ass and our offense looked like balls when it was 1v1's? |

I know it's only Week 1 of the preseason in his first year, but is it too early to start making Thomas' Hall of Fame bust? |
Kush is better than Hudson hope there is a change in the depth chart when season opens.
QB's looked like crap for the most part. I will say Smith didn't have much of a chance the way they were going right through Hudson. Where was Hemingway? Corner's yikes we surely will add a guy wont we? Toub we can kiss goodbye after this season. Someone will make him the next Crash Gantz next year. Lots of respect for that dude. Convincing Dorsey and Reid to kick McFalldown to the curb and get me a guy we can do better. |
NOT THE NFL.

Our defense... Needs work
|
Albert Wilson looked good.
DAT looked good. Kelce looked good. Harris looked pretty good as well, though it was against the 3s. Malcolm Bronson looked pretty solid. The left side of our OL is much better at run blocking than the right side. Eric Fisher did OK, about as good as you would expect for the first game of a guy who is coming back from shoulder surgery and has had limited snaps/contact in camp so far. I expect him to get better and be solid by the time the season actually starts. We're in huge trouble if either of our starting OTs go down. Sean Smith >>> Ron Parker Phillip Gaines looked pretty good until he got toasted on a post corner route. He looks very raw right now, great physical ability but lacks sufficient technique to take advantage of his physical talent at this point. |
I forgot to add, James Michael Johnson is a very welcome surprise. Don't be surprised if he beats out Joe Mays for the job next to DJ.
|
That Chrissy Teigen vid was pretty sweet.
|
Peyton Manning.

That's the new normal. There's no point in covering receivers. |

Dee Ford should be demoted to the practice squad ASAP. What kind of sorry effort was that? I expected 10-20 sacks minimum last night.

Again. |

You'll get flagged for being within arm's reach of an eligible receiver. They won't get flagged for rub routes. Peyton throws faster than any human capable of rushing the passer. |

Javier Baez.
Is it wrong that I think the Cubs are closer to a championship than the Chiefs? |

Kelce. Hopefully he can uproot Fasano who was a bum last season. Drops, can't stay healthy, slow as molasses, etc.

I was at the Royals game so I DVRed the Chiefs game. How did Bray do?
|
I WAS IMPRESSED BY CP!!!
|
Dee Ford?
|
Ford looked solid.
Solid on ST's. Solid in the run game. Solid in his speed. He needs to work on technique, as talent alone won't get you by in the NFL. That will come with time and coaching. Really excited about Ford. |

this. it'll make the NFL even more un-watchable . if that was even possible. I suspect the record of total number of points scored all year in the NFL league-wide will be broken and exceeded by 20% Manning, Rogers, or Brees will most likely have a 500+ yd passing day. |

Why is Ron Parker still with the #1s? You'd think this would be enough "punishment" for Sean Smith if that's all it was.

dat and kelce also were impressive |

I forgot to mention Malcom Death Wish Bronson was impressive. |
Special teams delivered.
|
Besides the obvious individual performances like Thomas and Kelce, I was impressed with the overall team speed. The defensive front seven especially looked very fast to me. Mays and Johnson are a clear upgrade over Jordan at least in terms of athleticism.
I felt like the team as a whole looks much more athletic than what we've seen in the past, especially in our depth. |
I still cannot get over how huge Bailey looks. Last night he reminded me of a 300 lb linebacker. The dude is no fat, sloppy, DE. He's a horse.
|
Our Offense looks improved.
Speed and explosiveness at TE and slot will be huge in this offense. It's a limited sample size, but there are not many TEs in the league that run like that @ 260 lbs. And McCluster? Trolololol....Bye. |

Maybe Brock Lesner, but I don't think Brock is that big. |
From what I saw we have a ton of depth on the inside of our o line, hopefully we have a backup as versatile as Donald was last year because the backup tackles seemed pretty sub par; although on Kelce's TD you couldn't ask for a cleaner pocket. I like Wilson over Hammond or any other potential 6th option at WR, and from what I can tell our coverage and overall S/T's play this year will be unreal once it's cut to 53, lotta depth.
|
oh and people saying to let Colquitt go should probably shut the **** up ay this point too
