So I finally bought a cell/mobile phone...
Yeah, this is my first phone.
Ever. HTC One M8. Seems to be nice. I turned it on after a week in the box and, lo and behold, it worked. So, now what do I do with it? What apps do I need? What is Twitter? And most importantly, what is the best music player for the Android system? Most of my music is in iTunes due to the previous use of their iPod. Is there a way to get that over into the phone and in a decent music player on my phone? |
You're way behind the curve. You should start slow. Just make calls for a couple of years before you try anything else.
|
You should check out VCRs. You can record a show and watch it later.

That doesn't sound too secure. |

I'm sorry. |
Okay...
I've been doing a bit of research and the "audiophiles" think that Neutron is the shit. Anyone use the Neutron Music Player? (And I understand that the term audiophile is a bit of a misnomer when talking about MP3 files on a phone, but it sounds like it's attempting to get the most out of those files in terms of sound quality.) |

You're 80, aren't you?

And isn't there a downgrade to sound quality if it's being transferred from a CD to MP3 than upload to a "cloud" then downloaded from there to my phone? I really bought this because my iPod took a crap and figured that I might as well get all the rest of the shit as well as a music player in the process. |
Also, if I download and install a music player app and hate it, then remove it, is it going to destroy all my music files at that point?

Also for god's sake stay far far away from Twitter. The only useful thing for Twitter is news getting tweeted from people in the know and they immediately get posted to boards like this. Start with some games and do a google search for "useful apps" there will be a million threads on a million useful apps. |

i have a seriously huge music collection and i still find myself listening to pandora and making all kinds of different radio stations for different situations / moods etc... Its really the bees knees man its cool to hear new stuff mixed in with stuff you already have heard and to be able to constantly refine each station you make ..its fun |

I went with T-Mobile as my carrier as music streaming doesn't count against my 4GLTE data cache and they've teamed with Rhapsody to offer full service music streaming (no ads) for $4 a month (most of the other services are approximately $10 a month). I think I'm going to go with Neutron as my music player. Seems like it's received a lot of accolades as it relates to overall sound quality. Quote:

I like Google play but if you want access to your entire library then yes you need a data connection.

This explains your horrific takes on college football players. Enjoy!

Sac's trolling has become increasingly bizarre.

I just bought a phone. Never had one before. It's intimidating, but quite interesting as I start to play around with it. Although, I have no idea what to put on it, what it comes with, etc. It usually takes me two weeks to pick out and buy a tie, so this is overwhelming to say the least. Just curious what others are using and what they really like in terms of apps, functions, etc. No trolling. For reals yo. |
And I just got my case for the phone delivered today, so I'm now actually going to take it out of the box permanently and use it.

I uploaded around 8k songs to Google Play Music from iTunes. I stream it or download certain songs to the device.

Okay, so I was at an establishment this evening. Chick digging on me, but she was obviously on some time of match.com date or something that wasn't working out too well.
How do I find her? I've tried to do things on the phone to such an extent tonight, but I think I've kinda ****ed up my phone interface in the process. Help me please. |

Go get the rad.io app from Google Play. It turns your cell phone into a radio. You can listen to channels from all over the world. It's like having a hyper efficient short wave receiver that is small enough to carry around in your hand. |
