What is Yost's rationale for batting Gordon so low? He's your best hitter.

gordo had been struggling? besides yost can be mind-boggling at times.

Gordon's been struggling most of September.

Is he just not on a run of horrible luck? He has his highest LD rate of the year in September by far, so it seems like when he's hitting the ball he's centering it. His BABIP is also 50 points lower than its been in any other month. His K-rate is up, which would explain some of the troubles, but not enough to justify dropping him.

SEX

He just uncharacteristically swinging at bad pitches lately. I been noticing that opponents are bringing in lefty relievers to face him more often than I used to. So yeah, he has been struggling pretty badly in September.

Thankfully his defense hasn't suffered, outside of that one gaffe against the Tigers at the K.

If the Royals play at Anaheim I'm going. I just realized I lost my Royals hat. They should have one for sale at the stadium right?

OK, I guess I haven't been paying close enough attention to the new post season. What exactly has changed and why only 1 extra game?

This has been the funnest season I can remember, was too young to enjoy the 80's.

Seattle is only 2 games back and Cleveland 3 games back right now in the WC race. Royals haven't clinched an extra game yet.

From an Indians fan let me just say congrats to you guys. I still hope you win out and take the AL central I can't stand Detroit. You guys should be fine in regards to making the playoffs.

They are 3 back of the 2nd wildcard you guys are 1 game ahead just look at the win totals the tribe has 83 with 3 left to play against Tampa making their max 86 wins. That won't happen they can't hit the horrible pitching staffs like Houston and the Twins they won't hit Tampas all weekend

Yeah, this is the first time I have even paid attention to what the post season would be and had no idea about this one game playoff. Personally, I think it is stupid. At least make it a series if you are going to do something like that.

Same thing here, waiting since 1985 to be a playoff team, and there is a chance it is one and done. In KC, those are not good odds and would be disappointing to not have an actual baseball playoff series.

Yep, didn't bother buying tickets to the play-in game... almost as dumb as the MLS aggregate, and at least that's two games.
