In! Giants fans were real quiet for a long time in game three. I was the only one up and cheering most of the game.
|
My friends hate me for going against the Giants. But they will get over it. Let's ****en win this Game 4.

You need new friends. |
I have to be up to go to work in 2.5 hours and can't sleep. Still amped up from the win tonight.
Let's do it! |
|
In. Win this game and it's parade planning time
|
In! This is incredible. I can't believe this is all really happening. We are up 2-1 in the World ****ing Series! Holy shit!
|
In for da win.

How about we take this thing to 3-1! |
Let's keep this train on track and get another W!
|
Alright.
I'm assuming Ned will go with the same lineup as yesterday, particularly with another contact pitcher going for us. Add in the fact that it's going to rain all morning and could rain into the game, and the outfield's going to be wet. Do you want Aoki practicing Japanese Parkour on a wet outfield, surrounded by jutting brick walls. Yeah, me neither. For SF, we'll probably see Morse in LF instead of Ishikawa. Going back to the weather...it's a steady rain in SF right now. Looks like it tapers down but maybe not completely off by first pitch. I think they'll play, but it might be messy. Ball might not carry in heavy air, good news for Vargas. |
On paper this could be a wild game. Vargas vs Vogelsong. Each one is capable of getting rocked. I imagine Vogel will be on an extremely short leash.
|
Yeah, I agree. I think we may see Petit in this one. I also think Frasor will play a key role in this game.

Just reading some stuff online out of San Francisco, wondering if Morse will start. Not only is he still recovering from an oblique, but he was also pretty sick yesterday (on an IV bag). Morse is your better bat, and I would still guess he starts, but maybe not?
He's quite a hitter. I wouldn't mind KC taking a run at him next year as our next DH, honestly. |
I'm here for the party
|
I'd almost rather face Bum today....
|
Bring it and keep the foot on the gas boys!!!
|
I think it's pretty cool of the Glass family to splurge on the new uniforms for the bullpen pitchers. They're appropriate for the last 2 wins.

I'm in for the win! I think I'll head down to P&L to watch the game with a few thousand local friends! GO ROYALS!!
|
Great game last night, still kinda laughing at Herrera's AB.(now anyway), Make it win number 3 Royals!!! Keep it up kiddos!!! :thumb::thumb:

Someone asked the other day if those of us with Gm 6 tix were hoping they would lose one in SF. At that point I obviously said no, but I wonder if winning the first one does change my thinking a bit, not that I would ever want them to lose but now at least I find comfort knowing the Giants can't win at home which either means Royals win it in SF, or we play Gm 6 for the win, or worst case now being we play Gm 6 for a tie with the chance to win it all in Gm 7. Not a terrible scenario any way you look at it, and at this point it's only about the Royals taking the crown no matter how it shakes out.
|
It would be pretty cool to witness the victory celebration however

If they win tonight, I wonder if The K will be open to the public tomorrow to watch the game on the Jumbotron.

They should do that for tonights game. Go Royals. |

The wife and I had that convo last night. |
We've been having neighborhood watch parties for every game of the WS. My neighbor works as a sound engineer and has about 30k of projector screen/speakers set up in his driveway. It would drive Donger to Robin Williams himself. It's been the most fun I've had in KC for awhile.

Articles today on Ned have been hilarious. They are essentially saying: "we give up. Ned Yost is a magical warlock."

look, I was pretty irritated about Finnegan last night. Of course, kid is nails...but that should have been Wade Davis right then and there.
But Ned was money. He was right, I was wrong. I didn't want to see the kid in that spot, but he was awesome. In Ned I trust. |
54 Giant outs away from being World Champions.

he'd still come out and pitch the 8th it's the world ****ing series shit, if we get to a game 7 I'd go Guthrie Guthrie Guthrie Herrera Herrera Davis Davis Davis Holland and I'm not even kidding (with Holland available in the 8th in case Davis runs out of gas) |
with that all being subject to change in case Guthrie gets into any trouble at all
and by at all, I mean, if 2 people get on base in the first inning, his ass is out for one of the beasts and we'll worry about it later by giving a clean inning to Vargas or Finnegan or Duffy etc |

Ned Wears number 3 due to his friendship and respect for Dale Sr. Hunts with Jeff Foxworthy in the off season. Hobbies include - Taxidermy. Maybe we have underestimated this country boy? :hmmm: |

So sick of political adds. **** you assholes.

Really kind of excited about tonight. I trust Vogelsong. I agree with Bochy not burning up bum tonight.

I've been a Ned defender (well not really defender of him, so much as opponent of the idea managers win or lose many games)....but hitting Herrera there was just mind-boggling.

This team seems to respond to him. Not to beat it to death, because I've mentioned it many times in the recent past, it's true though. |

why in god's holy **** would we not pitch Herrera in the 7th? |

we had about a .05% chance to score a run with Herrera at the plate now, you pinch hit Butler for him... we have a 80% chance of Dyson stealing 2nd base then we have a 27% chance of Butler getting a base hit so we probably had close a 1 in 5 shot of scoring a run there ...and how many blown saves have H D H accounted for this postseason? I side with Yost. Gotta start the 7th with Herrera. Good move, IMO |

I like Finnegan, but his sample size is very small. He was roughed up a bit in his last appearance in the ALCS ... and this is the World Series. Ned played it fabulously if you ask me. |
I would have done this: Send Herrera to the plate, tell him not to swing.
Give Dyson a "must steal" sign on the first pitch. If Dyson is thrown out, then go to the 7th with Herrera. If Dyson does make it, I would pinch-hit for Herrera in the middle of the at-bat. (yes, you are allowed to do that even if its not an injury) |
Our wWe was 69% and fell to 67% after Herreras strikeout. Fell again to 59% when he walked Pence to lead off the 7th. So hard to say it worked like Yost expected it. Finnegan's two outs jumped it right back to 77% and saved that decision.
|
Break these mother****ers.
|
Finnegan was great and Herrera was clearly not at his best...
but I still liked how Ned played it. It was, at worst, 50/50. There was justification for either choice. |
Also, pitching him that second inning likely keeps him on the bench tonight.
