Actual mock pick for the Chiefs I saw today.

From a website called NFL on the Clock:

Quote:

#22. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS – BRANDON SCHERFF, OT, IOWA.

Andy Reid loves to draft these big men with his early picks, and the Chiefs actually could use an improvement at RT over Rodney Harris, or even to slide into LT if Eric Fischer does not pan out that well.

I think it's time we put NFL on the Clock... on the clock.

Fortunately, Andy isn't the one doing the drafting.

Not only that, but they can't spell Eric Fisher's name correct. And they combined two of our OL to make one. It's either Rodney Hudson or Ryan Harris, but not Rodney Harris.

Sully 11-07-2014 08:40 AM

Rodney Harris can't hold Leon Sandcastle's jock!!!

Sully 11-07-2014 08:40 AM

Just the type of player the Clarks would draft.

Hoover 11-07-2014 09:52 AM

if you can get him at 22 you take him. He's a stud.

Coochie liquor 11-07-2014 10:11 AM

Johnny Manziel

Saul Good 11-07-2014 10:38 AM

Why don't we just slide Brandon Albert over to Guard?

We're busy trying to convert Bowe to tight end.

Sully 11-07-2014 11:43 AM

Mikhael Ricks needs to be a WR.

Bowser 11-07-2014 12:17 PM

Sean LaChapelle just needs to add 20 pounds.....

Direckshun 11-07-2014 12:21 PM

WHY AREN'T WE PLAYING FLOWERS AT SAFETY.

OldSchool 11-07-2014 12:21 PM

Yeah, if Scherff is there at 22, he would be BPA.

I'd be surprised if he's there, but he's a hell of a player.

I'm not so sure we need another tackle so I'd go in a different direction, but he would be BPA most likely at 22.

BPA could be WR, TE or CB, not necessarily in that order.

I cannot see a guard or tackle taken in the bottom third of round one.

It needs to be a "skill" position.

I agree.

Personally, I think that they are one decent guard away from a pretty solid offensive line, though there isn't a guard in this draft that I like that much. (The John Miller dude from Louisville I put in my recent mock is a pretty nice LG who should be available in the mid rounds.)

Best
Player
Available

Would mean that you take the best player available no?

So even if its a OT, if he's on the top of the board, you take him.

Many of you want BPON - Best played of need.

Look, we need a WR badly. Hard for me to justify drafting a TE with Kelse being a stud. I'm always in the mood to draft a CB. Yet, as a founding member of the offensive line homer club, if you are drafting in the bottom third of the draft and you can get your hands on some primo talent it would be hard for me to say no, especially if its a guy like Scherff who could play guard or tackle and is one tough SOB.

You just have to wonder about Dorsey and what he ultimately considers BPA when he picks.

His 2014 draft had some head scratchers. I thought that there were three or four guys at the same OLB position that were better options than Ford. The Gaines pick was just out of left field. Same with Murray.

If the Chiefs pick around 22 and Scherff is on the board, you'd have to consider him as a very high BPA possibility. However, I'm not so sure that that would be the case with Dorsey, his parameters and how the Decision Lens system ties all of it together.

It's a pretty decent draft, especially if the underclassmen come out that are expected. Pretty deep at MLB, OL, WR, OLB and DE/DT.

If guard is an easier position than left tackle couldn't we just move Fisher to left guard and draft another left tackle? We've got 4 picks in the first three rounds. I'd like to see two linemen.

Eh... I really don't see Fisher working out at G. It's just not his game. He lacks the anchor for it. Keep that size, length, and quickness outside, and weather the storm of growing pains. I still think he will be a very good OT soon enough.

Really won't take much to upgrade McGlynn. I just wish Andy would stop being stubborn and upgrade now with LDT or Stephenson.

You do know you are discussing the Kansas City Chiefs, correct?

We will get OT's mocked to us every year for some reason
