NFL Network Oline Discussion
The NFL Network was asking each other why the Chiefs oline has regressed while the Patriots line has got it together. They showed discussions from all angles after the Chiefs defeated the Patriots. Everyone was talking about how great the Chiefs oline had performed the last few games and that Tom Brady was on his death bed because his oline was terrible.
So all of you that are bashing the Chiefs oline........why have they regressed? And why has the Patriots oline been so good? |
They didn't "regress". We stopped being able to hide their deficiencies and teams figured out how to beat them.
|
The pats have benched guys, promoted guys, moved guys around, got into their asses.
We have done..... nothing |
My theory is the Patriots line was never as bad as it was, just inexperienced. It also just needed some time.
Our line, on the other hand, has always been AIDS |
Shouldn't somebody on the coaching staff be able to adjust...either play calling or some sort of rotation? It is the NFL.

It's all reactionary garbage. Omg Tom Brady is old and can't win anymore then he's back to old Tom Brady.
Then the chiefs suck losing to titans and Broncos. Then they beat Seattle and now we're super bowl ready. Then we suck again losing to Oakland and Broncos. All reactions of the moment. |

I mentioned it a month ago...this team has to out-scheme in order to win because they can't just line up and beat you with talent alone. Now that we're nearing the end of the season, teams have figured out Reid's offense. |

Stop JC at all costs, make Alex beat you. |

We've known...at least some of us....that this team was soft up the middle since week 2. Even through their wins, they still couldn't run defend worth a shit. A lot of people stuck their finger in their ears and went lalalalalalala. But much like last season's pass defense, it caught up to them. |
They also said that the remaining schedule would say alot about the status of Kansas City Football.

But man it is really amazing how good this offense is when alex can complete a 3 step drop, and jamaal isnt getting plastered in the backfield

What's happening is:
Reid calls some bonehead plays, we kick the ball; Sutton's head has been planted in his ass, so we give up a score; Reid then realizes that Charles exists and doesn't want the beating the fans will deliver if he neglects him again, so he goes incredibly predictable. Kick it away again; Sutton is still chomping on the turds he discovered on the previous drive, so we give up another score; We are now in a hole (much like Sutton), and are forced to play to our oline's weaknesses and their awfulness is exposed. If we can start with a lead; we have a chance to go tit for tat. If they score first and we don't respond; we're ****ed. |
Don't get me started on having two time outs, not used, and kneeling to go to halftime when we kick to start the 3rd.

When we threw the ball 3 straight times and punted I knew we were ****ed. |

Charles and Nile + Sherman doing work and people associate it with 'the o-line is good'.
Sideways passing and quick slants/comebacks to Bowe. Screens. Those all hide O-Line weakness by getting the pass off quick. Deep drops and situations where play-action isn't believable and the O-Line is asked to hold up for 3 seconds hasn't happened much this year. Brady was getting pressure up the middle early in the year and he was dead because no scramble ability and forcing passes that shouldn't of been even tried or the pressure made him miss the open guy. They got the interior of the O-Line sorted out and traded Mankins because he wasn't good anymore. |
“Keep our heads down and just know it takes one game to get back into it,” Bowe said. “We got to start by that one game. I think we’re going to get back to the basics next week and just start off with Chiefs’ style football, pounding and grinding and open it up with the play-action.”

Chargers will win on a last second PI call on a 40 yard throw by Rivers. Just like they won the Ravens game. Something KC is too afraid to even attempt. Safer to take the sack or kneel on the ball. |

The Chiefs are paying $17m a year for Damon Huard. |

Heck seems to have thought that if he just let the same tired shit gel long enough it'd turn into gold, instead it just got shittier. |
