Heading into the final quarter of 2014, who is the best team in the NFL?

We did this at the halfway point. Might as well at the 3/4 mark. Four games to go... 21 teams still within a spot of the playoffs.

AFC

1) New England 9-3
2) Denver 9-3

3) Cincinnati 8-3-1
6) Miami 7-5

4) Indianapolis 8-4
5) San Diego 8-4

Kansas City 7-5
Buffalo 7-5
Baltimore 7-5
Pittsburgh 7-5
Cleveland 7-5
Houston 6-6

NFC

1) Arizona 9-3
2) Green Bay 9-3

3) Philadelphia 9-3
6) Detroit 8-4

4) Atlanta 5-7
5) Seattle 8-4

Dallas 8-4
San Francisco 7-5
New Orleans 5-7

Pretty sure it's Green Bay.

NE and Denver are fading. I think the Colts will overcome this year.

Why Not? 12-01-2014 10:32 PM

Pretty clearly the Packers.

cdcox 12-01-2014 10:33 PM

Denver or GB

Denver's emerging running game is going to make them tough.

keg in kc 12-01-2014 10:34 PM

Has to be the Packers right now.

Hootie 12-01-2014 10:36 PM

Green Bay or Seattle.

whoever gets home field between Denver or NE probably goes to the Super Bowl and loses to either of the aforementioned teams

Seattle getting hot again.

Mile High Mania 12-01-2014 10:36 PM

I don't think there is one team clearly above the rest. I believe GB, NEP and DEN could all stake a claim and each really needs home field. They are the three best at this point.

Rain Man 12-01-2014 10:37 PM

Rodgers. Er, I mean Green Bay.

Hootie 12-01-2014 10:38 PM

Seattle beat Denver. I guess Mile High Mania forgot already.

tk13 12-01-2014 10:39 PM

18 teams have a winning record, and there are only two games separating #1 and #18. That's pretty tough.

Real parity. A bunch of teams between 6-10 and 10-6, a few better than that, a few worse.

Hootie 12-01-2014 10:40 PM

I'm very intrigued with the Seattle / Philly game Sunday. Personally, I think Seattle just rapes Sanchez. He made a lot of questionable throws against Dallas on Thursday that Dallas didn't really take advantage of. That isn't going to work against Seattle, who appears to be hot right now.

I bet Seattle wins that game pretty comfortably ... and if they do, they are pretty much a lock for the 2 seed because they won't lose another game after that.

I have a $20 bet riding on the Seahawks in that game with my roommate, who is an Eagles fan.

Caught him while he was talking shit after beating up on the Cowboys. I'm feeling pretty comfortable about that bet.

TimeForWasp 12-01-2014 11:28 PM

Clearly the raiders. They win the Draft.

Mav 12-01-2014 11:39 PM

Gb/ne are the two best

Gadzooks 12-02-2014 12:18 AM

Green Bay's overrated. They have a weak defense.

Gadzooks 12-02-2014 12:25 AM

The best team would probably be Green Bay's offense with Buffalo's defense.

Garcia Bronco 12-02-2014 12:29 AM

Greenbay
Pats
Broncos
Eagles/Colts

Coochie liquor 12-02-2014 05:36 AM

I voted GB but that can change from week to week.

scho63 12-02-2014 05:41 AM

My Top 3:

1. New England
2. Green Bay
3. Eagles-(I know I know with Mark Sanchez but they impressed the hell out of me in Dallas)

ptlyon 12-02-2014 08:05 AM

So philly has a chance to go to the SB two years removed from firing Reid?

Interesting, I must say.

They've done that twice actually... but SEA lost to both KC and SD, Denver is 3-0 against those 2 teams. +1 Den

That seems a bit lazy tbh. A lot of people say that, but have you actually seen them play lately? They held the Patriots pretty well and their run defense is improving as of late it appears

Mile High Mania 12-02-2014 10:34 AM

I don't think there is one team that screams legit #1 contender right now. They all have fatal flaws.

Just because the Broncos are not the #1 contender right now doesn't mean there isn't one. Green Bay is the consensus #1 team at the moment.

Pablo 12-02-2014 11:04 AM

I think GB has to be the favorite at the moment. NE and Denver follow them up.

I do enjoy that there are five Chiefs votes in this poll.

Well done gentlemen.

LMAO

I'm not viewing it through that lens at all. I'd love to see a Denver/Packers matchup... two crazy offenses.

jkw87 12-02-2014 11:08 AM

Yeah, it has to be Green Bay/New England with Seattle and Denver following it up. That's top four to me... Five would probably be Philadelphia/Indianapolis. I would have once said Kansas City, but Reid has went full reerun and Sutton is back to last year's form.

TEX 12-02-2014 11:11 AM

I think it's New England followed by Green bay. I know Green Bay just beat them, BUT I bet if the game would have been played in New England, the Patriots win. I think on a neutral field, I'd take New England.

My top 5 are as follows:

1. New England
2. Green Bay
3. The **** Tards from Denver
4. Eagles
5. Colts

San Francisco 7-5
New Orleans 5-7

That Raider game was and will be a KILLER.

I think that's why I say there's not a true #1 contender - I think all those teams likely defeat the others in their home stadiums, likely lose on the road. I'd still rank the Colts over the Eagles. I think the Patriots lose at SD this week.

I think you're big right but I'd take the under on that game. Seems like the Eagles D is picking up, and they play better at home.

TLO 12-02-2014 04:31 PM

Bucs.

.....ya. crazy.

MahiMike 12-02-2014 06:55 PM

After what I saw the other night and the fact that Denver has a running game, it's Denver. They could actually win the whole thing with that D and running game.

jimidollar 12-02-2014 07:52 PM

Just because they stomped our group of reeruns doesn't mean anything.

Rausch 12-02-2014 07:54 PM

Seattle
Denver
Green Bay...

Sweet Daddy Hate 12-02-2014 09:29 PM

Damn. Look at that Sanchez-led Eagles team.

Mmm...embarrassing.
