Who has the best chance of knocking Denver out of the postseason?

The Chiefs suck right now obviously which unfortunately I've gotten used to. I've got a bad feeling the Donks are going on a run. If they won a super bowl it might force me to step away from the NFL for awhile. The late 90s Super Bowls were disgusting enough. Another championship from those bastards might do some serious damage to my mental health. Seriously talk me off the ledge. Who will be the team to bring out Peyton Mannings postseason choke jobs?

RunKC 12-02-2014 12:12 PM

NE at NE.
Seattle has the D.

That's about it. Packers OL can't stop their pass rushers and their run D isn't that great. Don't think they can beat them on a neutral field.

Johnny Vegas 12-02-2014 12:13 PM

Plane breaking apart in mid air should do it

Pablo 12-02-2014 12:21 PM

You best pin your hopes on NE to go to the SB. I think they have the best chance.

Bugeater 12-02-2014 12:23 PM

I don't see them winning an AFC title game in Foxboro.

PunkinDrublic 12-02-2014 12:29 PM

What scares me is even if they blow it again, Peyton Manning will come back next year and some key vet will sign with them to try and get a ring. Denver has truly become the Miami Heat of the NFL.

Well, yeah.

They're going to be contenders as long as Manning is healthy and throwing for 5K yards every season.

Rudy tossed tigger's salad 12-02-2014 12:33 PM

Colts- Their offense could be trouble for Denver
Ravens- They are much better this year with Kubiak on staff
Pats- Brady
Seahawks- Obvious

Nzoner 12-02-2014 12:34 PM

I hate Manning and the donks so much I bet on them on my last Vegas trip to win the AFC and the Super Bowl.

I figured one way or another I'm going to be happy when the Super Bowl is over.

There's times I think that Manning doesn't do all those commercials for the money, but for getting on TV as much as possible to taunt me. Peyton Manning would endorse ISIS if it would give him more air time.

Rodgers would shred that secondary.

Rodgers would shred any secondary. So will Peyton.

It would just be a race to who could put up 50 first.

Mile High Mania 12-02-2014 12:47 PM

Denver could lose to any of the top 6-7 teams in the league depending on location, etc. Denver has issues, but the positive (for me) is that every other contender out there at this point does as well.

If SD can come up with a big win at home this week vs NE, then that really helps the cause here. Puts the #1 seed in Denver's control with games vs BUF, @ SD, @ CIN and vs OAK. And, those 2 road games are going to be tough wins... nothing is a given.

Patriots follow up that tough road loss @ GBP with the trip this week to sunny California. After that, Miami in NE, @ Jets and Bills in NE --- smooth sailing for NE.

A loss @ SD is paramount to Denver avoiding a trip to NE.

Then again, that's assuming they maintain a hold on the #2 seed and advance. The Colts would be a tough matchup, for sure. I like Denver's chances, especially at home with the other AFC contenders in the playoffs.

A game in a dome vs the Packers in Arizona would be greatness ... but, we're a long ways away from that happening.

vailpass 12-02-2014 12:53 PM

This is a Chiefs board! Why are you posting Bronco shit here? Take your donkey loving crisco ass back to the mange111!!!/herp

jonzie04 12-02-2014 12:55 PM

if denvers d ever stops under achieving, no one. their d is better than seattles on paper.

Pasta Little Brioni 12-02-2014 01:00 PM

Kc ends their season in pile high

Red Dawg 12-02-2014 01:04 PM

Pats will kick their ass in Foxboro.

manchambo 12-02-2014 01:16 PM

I think the bottom line, barring upsetss, is NE is a favorite in Foxboro and Denver would be the favorite in Denver.

PunkinDrublic 12-02-2014 01:32 PM

It's just infuriating the how things go Denver's way. Demarcus Ware was supposed to be a broke dick on the downside of his career, all the sudden he signs with the Donks and it magically turns back the clock on his career 5 years. FML!

yep. I've never seen shit go a teams way like it does Denvers, they don't have to deal with a single negative and if they do it's magically resolved in seconds.

I don't see that. Denver's safeties and ILB's are nowhere near as good as Seattle's.
Seattle still has Avril, Bennett and Irvin too.

Not to mention they have the best C, one of the best G's and one of the best LT's in the league to pound the rock to Beast mode. Remember Poe didn't do much of anything vs Seattle until Unger got hurt.

I still think Seattle is the best team and would beat Denver. We barely beat them

They're an organization with high aspirations. They typically do things that put them in a spot to win. I wish the Chiefs were that.

And I have to laugh at the Pack fan, whose organization went from Favre to Rodgers lamenting the "luck" of the Broncos.

Yeah but even shit doesn't go the Packers way like it does for them, they never have any season killing injuries, suspensions, nothing. I would be ashamed to be a bronco fan if the league held our hand like that.

Ware was a 9 year veteran last year, and missed 3 games in 2013 meaning that he had started 137 of 141 games as a Cowboy.

2013 was his lowest sack total since his rookie year, and he was a double digit sack guy the other 7 seasons.

In his first 8 seasons in Dallas, he played as a LB and in that final season he was moved to DE - which is what he plays now in Denver.

So, he gets dropped by Dallas - mostly viewed as a bad idea by everyone.

Denver signs him and everyone says he's broken and torn up. Maybe it's because I live in Dallas and was more familiar with Ware, but at the time, I thought it was a hell of a signing as did many Cowboys fans (most didn't like him being gone).

It's not like they took a 37 year old DE and are somehow getting him to produce.

Hootie 12-02-2014 02:39 PM

I think the AFC is more wide open than people think.

I think the NFC is down to either GB or Seattle

Iowanian 12-02-2014 02:40 PM

They lost to the Rams, they're not an unsinkable ship.

I think it's obvious that Ware got Welker's PED hookup.

As I recall the local media in Dallas was calling it a good move because JJ had a bad habit of hanging on to good players for too long and they needed to clear cap space. JJ finally got it through his thick skull that the Cowboys were not a player or two away from a Super Bowl and they needed to clear cap space if they were going to try to rebuild. The signing was a risky move by Denver at the time, but the upside was too great not to take a chance.

Please define "season killing injury or suspension". The only one I can think of is the 2011 Colts. The 2008 Patriots still went 11-5, and the 2013 Packers still made the playoffs.

So, if you aren't a Colts fan, you should be ashamed of how the league holds your hand.

Colts or Pats in the AFC, the Pack if both teams make it to the 'ship

Oh I'm sure there were many that said the guy pushing 10 years wasn't worth the big $... I just don't believe he fell into 'brokedick' status.

Denver has been penalized 33 more times than their opponents this season, second most in the league. Green Bay has been penalized 10 fewer times than their opponents.

Who is the league favorite again?

it's not the amount of penalties it's WHEN they're called and your crybaby blockhead QB is going to get what he wants. This isn't the NFL anymore, it's teh Mile High League and it needs to ****ing end yesterday.

Denver made bad personnel moves for awhile, and they were basically mediocre, with a couple of up years, from Elway's retirement, to recently. They've made a number of good moves recently, both in the draft an free agency. It's not luck.

Uh huh.

Those refs keep giving Denver free 1st downs by penalty, don't they? Except actually, the Broncos, Packers, and Chiefs all have exactly the same number of 1st downs by penalty over the season. What advantage are the refs giving the Broncos if it isn't extending drives?

Looking at the other side, Denver's opponents have been awarded more 1st downs by penalty than either the Packers or the Chiefs. In fact, the Chiefs' opponents have been given the fewest free 1st downs in the entire league.

notorious 12-02-2014 06:07 PM

Manning in 2006. His defense carried them through the playoffs just like the Denver defense is about to do.

Indy's defense even won the SB for him against Chicago.

They've had great drafts for sure. Denver got Demarius Thomas while the Chiefs ****ed up and got Jon Baldwin. The Ware signing was a huge gamble I thought.
