Miami would be stupid to fire Philbin. They are beginning to turn the corner.

Ownership takes advice from Dan Marino now there are rumors that Marino hates phillbin and the owner loves Jim harbaugh.

In that case, Miami deserves what they get.

ChiefsCountry 12-16-2014 06:42 PM

Dolphins owner is a big time Michigan alum. He has a major woody for Harbaugh. He has tried to get him before.

Which is so stupid for him to go all out for Harbaugh at the point Chicago and Oakland look like much better jobs.

No fire in the belly Cutler who loves to point the finger when things go wrong and would give a big frowning sigh while dropping his head if he were asked by his grandmother if he could help carry in the groceries.:thumb:

Cutler will NEVER win BIG because his uncle Jeff George said so;)

Not really at this point. Jay Cutler ?? Please ! Mark Davis the apple doesn't fall far from the Al tree. Miami is far more legit than these 2 teams even if the cap room is better than Miami.

He has Aaron rodgers number he could stomp all over the NFC north for year's.

Not to mention he made Alex smith look competent after the 49ers were getting ready to cut him if any one can fix Cutler its Harbaugh.

I'm betting Cutler will be kicked to the curb no matter who they bring in.

Every single coach thats had the guy thought they could fix him, some pretty ballyhooed QB-centric names on that list, too... Shanahan, McDaniels, Martz and now Trestman... and they all failed to turn him into a winner.

Harbaugh would be yet another Cutler victim, IMO.

Nonetheless, he does make a lot more sense there than Miami or Oakland, the fans would eat it up... he would be the perfect salve to shut them up, a great pr move.

Mile High Mania 12-16-2014 08:58 PM

Trestman sucks

ThaVirus 12-16-2014 09:00 PM

Bears ownership met last night. Trestman likely fired

I'm not sure what to think of Trestman. He inherited an aging defense and Jay Cutler. That's not really setting a guy up for success.

They have the best WR/RB/TE combo in the league and Cutler still leads the league in INTs. Guy just can't hack it.

Agree with this. Changing coaches will just set them back, and oh Harbaugh isn't headed there.

Phillbin might be a good coach but cutting Smith and Vontae Davis looks like a boneheaded move if I was a fins fan I would want Davis and Smith over Grimes and Taylor.

Wow, had not heard this. Kind of surprised. Must be out of the loop

But I would pick pro over college because of the hassle of recruiting.

It's all over the Radio here in the bay area from what I've heard his wife really wants him to stay in the bay and the Raiders are willing to trade for him if Harbaugh would let the 49ers but he doesn't want them to get anypicks there will be bad blood when he leaves.

Marcellus 12-16-2014 09:42 PM

Cutler is a coach killer. Today Mort said there is still a trade market for Cutler.

Pfffttt I will laugh my ass off if a team trades for that loser especially at that salary.

There is no way a team will trade for him at that salary

http://www.sportsonearth.com/article...ion-guaranteed

54m guaranteed is insane there stuck with him for better or for worse.

gblowfish 12-16-2014 09:44 PM

I watched a bunch of that game. Cutler is the Bears problem. That guy is a terrible leader. He's a whiner and a gutless pussy. Bears have a bad O-line, no wide outs, bad D-Backs, over the hill D-Linemen, and no good linebackers. They're a train wreck. Lombardi couldn't win with that mess.

gblowfish 12-16-2014 09:46 PM

I could see the Bears going after Mike Singleterry and giving him another chance to head coach. They love him almost as much as Ditka in Chicago.

oaklandhater 12-16-2014 09:47 PM

What's even more insane is why did the nfl put the bears on national tv 3 weeks in a row ?

They must have really thought the bears were gonna turn it around this season.

The Media circus of cutler and Singleterry calling it each other out would be a train wreck.

I thought Tresman was supposed to be the savior. Good rep here -Minnesota fans wanted him for Vikes or Gophers. and in the CFL.
Maybe let the GM go too and release skater boy Cutler

No wide outs. The Bears have no wide outs.

This is the genius of CP.

ThaVirus 12-16-2014 09:55 PM

In his defense, Brandon Marshall is hurt... But still.

Demonpenz 12-16-2014 10:25 PM

Sat on Johnny Knox for our out door BBQ he was comfy.

Just Passin' By 12-16-2014 11:03 PM

Trestman's getting screwed. Having to win with the tin woodsman as your QB is just not fair. Lovie pulled it off twice, but he had defenses that could hold opponents under 300 points in a season in order to get it done, and he still only got 10 wins out of it each season.

Trestman got stuck with a calcifying Chicago defense that was in need of years of overhaul. Last year's team scored 445 points, which is 70 more than a Cutler led team had ever put up, and it still finished at 500.

I don't know if the guy's got what it takes to be an NFL head coach. I just think that he's getting hosed on this.

Gravedigger 12-16-2014 11:05 PM

This was decided six weeks ago that Trestman was gone. Bears will trade Cutler, not get a good return, and next year the next coach will build it with his guys.

Yes, but that only happened a week or two ago, Cutler had the guy for the vast majority of the year.

Well, they have wide outs that are injured...

Mile High Mania 12-17-2014 09:59 AM

Culter has issues, no doubt, but I still think a team can win with him.

CHI can't protect him and their defense hasn't been all that great. He definitely lacks that leadership quality you want, and he always looks like he's pouting... but how many coaches has he had that have pushed him? Maybe 1 that was worth a crap?

CHI should bring in Shanahan in the offseason... he likes him and I would imagine that might work. If you're financially tied to Cutler, which they are ... might as well bring in a coach that likes him and can run an offense suited to him.
