Watching the NFL playoffs?

I might be in the minority, but I'll be trying to do other things until the Super Bowl.
There might be the odd-time that a playoff game is on in the background while I'm on the computer, but that's it.

Are you glued to the TV this January?

Bugeater 01-03-2015 11:11 AM

I will be for certain games. Panthers vs Cardinals won't be one of them.

Rausch 01-03-2015 11:11 AM

I asked off for today and tomorrow just in case KC made the playoffs (wasn't sure which day they'd play.)

We're out but now it's raining like super-****-you and if the temp drops like they're predicting it could be a mess.

So, I'll wait and see what happens...

LMAO Same.

I work Saturdays so unfortunately I'll be missing whichever games come on then. I'll be watching whichever ones air on Sundays.

I'm most interested in any game featuring Dallas, GB, Seattle, and basically all of the AFC games.

Titty Meat 01-03-2015 11:15 AM

I'll watch every game besides Carolina/Arizona. I don't know why they would show a playoff game on cable TV. Not all of us have cable and I see no reason to get it. ESPN is awful and the MNF games haven't been good for years. Same with NFL Networks Thursday Night Games.

007 01-03-2015 11:15 AM

Is the ****ing NFL Network getting one of todays games? I only see the Night game on NBC.

Reerun_KC 01-03-2015 11:15 AM

Working today. Like most weekends anymore. Quick trip to eagle/Vail then home. Should catch some of the night cap if momma doesn't want to watch a movie and play.

ESPN. Garbage Tirico and Gruden.

It's a garbage game anyway. Fitting that ESPN gets it.

Gruden im sure will salivate over every QB.

"Ryan Lindley....this kid, i had him graded out as the top QB on my board when he came out. Great arm, great instincts....this kid has it all"

Pablo 01-03-2015 11:22 AM

I will watch every game or at least parts of every game.

Same with the college football championship. I haven't seen one since Cam Newton played and feel like I haven't missed anything LMAO

2015 and people actually don't have cable dish or direct TV?

That is some serious dedication to the good ol days.

I'm not going to shell out 1,000 dollars a year on trash. I'm hardly home to begin with and the last thing I want to watch is a network suck off the shithole East coast or Dallas Cowboys. Any shows I want to see I can watch on NetFlix or pirate them.

If push comes to shove I'll go to a bar and watch the game.

DaFace 01-03-2015 11:37 AM

I'll watch when I'm at home and don't have anything else pressing. I won't plan around it, though.

ClevelandBronco 01-03-2015 11:42 AM

If a game is on in the background while I'm doing something productive, that's fine. I don't plan to sit and watch a playoff game. I'll catch most of the Super Bowl, probably.

I have no desire to pay that much money for crap tv. Other than live sports its pointless.

This. That Zona vs Cards matchup isn't very alluring. A crappy team that got kind of "hot" at the end of the year to still finish below .500 to a Cards team that scored 12 ppg the last 6 of the season. Worst average for a playoff team since the 1935 NY Giants.

Pretty much this. I hate every team in the AFC side. Hate pretty much every team in the NFC save GB. Severe apathy.

There is so much live sports on direct TV is mind blowing at times.

A lot of people have 'cut the cord'

Easy 6 01-03-2015 12:50 PM

Oh, I'll probably watch most of them for lack of anything better to do... but the fact that 7-8-1 Carolina is in makes this current playoff system a big, fat, joke.

Bearcat 01-03-2015 01:34 PM

I'll probably catch the Lions/Cowboys this weekend and pretty much every game starting next weekend.... still feel like mid-January on is must watch football, even though last year seemed kind of, well, scripted at times. Not literally, but you pretty much know when the score is close in the 4th quarter, there's going to be a few scoring drives in the last 5-7 minutes.

Direct TV here in topeka is not very good. My dad has it and complains about the loss of signal every time it rains. He has had their techs come out 3 times and they never fix it. Why would I spend money on a unreliable service like that?

You guys are just jealous your NFL team isn't in the playoffs!

GO CARDS!

:D

Hootie 01-03-2015 02:01 PM

Yep. Playoff football is still awesome.

Thursday Night Football is not awesome.

displacedinMN 01-03-2015 02:02 PM

check in, not watch unless there is nothing else on.

I install it myself. That way I ensure I don't have issues when it rains.

Ragged Robin 01-03-2015 02:24 PM

i couldn't care less, probably won't watch anything

displacedinMN 01-03-2015 03:40 PM

I brought my youngest to the University of Minnesota gymnastics free gymnastics meet. I am there now. Much better than sitting at home watching other teams in the playoffs

You're mistaken...it's now behind the times to have cable.

13and3 01-03-2015 04:26 PM

Steelers, ravens, patriots, broncos, colts. Pretty much same teams every ****ing year in the afc. Why do we continue watching reruns?

So in order to get their service to work I have to do their job for them too? LMAO

Bugeater 01-03-2015 04:34 PM

I don't get how you can be a Chiefs fan and not be a football fan. And I don't get how you can be a football fan and not watch football.

YayMike 01-03-2015 04:53 PM

Cam Newton is a really bad QB...

Maybe they only have time for bad football? (Read KC Chiefs football)

BWillie 01-03-2015 06:27 PM

Nope. Not watching. Out of the main three I probably find football the least interesting, definitely way way behind basketball

MahiMike 01-03-2015 06:30 PM

Hell yeah. I'm a football fan. I'm gonna watch every minute. Nothing but golf channel for next four months.

Thats a damn good question.

I guess the only answer I have that makes sense, is that so I can watch yet another storied, small market team where tradition rules, where the local kids get to tote the players gear around and interact with them during camp in Green Bay, win it all.

Seriously, if that isnt the coolest fan interaction tradition in all of football then I'll kiss your ASS... it breeds new die hard Packer fans every single year, its a football dream factory... thats the kinda team I can root for.

Sorry, I have to reply to myself.

Kid 2 had a great day.
One of the gymnasts threw a t-shirt to her.
She got autographs from the whole team. (They do that for anyone that stays)
Got a picture with the captain. Who made the NCAA's last year.
AND she remembered kid 2 from last year.

So missing football was not a bad thing, and I got major dad points.

scho63 01-04-2015 02:32 PM

So far I've watched about 20 minutes total of yesterday's games and so far I haven't seen a single second of the first AFC wildcard game today.

Just not that into this year....

The NFL is increasingly less like football.
