Directv blacks out local CBS
Anyone also in the same boat? I've called a few bars and they can't air the game either. Any stream available or will CBS air the game on their website? what options are you exercising?
|
The best option is **** Directv.

Throw up an antenna ?

Direct TV is not blocking your local CBS station.
Your local CBS station pulled their programming because their contract expired, and rather than allowing DTV to continue to provide you with your local network, and ensure that you get that all important local advertising, which is the reason you are not allowed to choose non local affiliates, they pulled out. |

But you'll have the same problem with Dish or cable if those contracts expire. The FCC is the reason you can't watch out of market affiliates. |

In 2 to 3 years you will no longer need cable at all. Technology is going to make ala cart possible and without the cables companys consent. They are a midddle man and they re about to get cut out.

This must be city specific. I'm watching CBS right now on DTV. Weird, they usually apply to everyone not just one town.

Yep I was bitching about it earlier but it's the outfit in Minnesota that owns all the CBS stations in Montana that's ****ing us over. The contract expired and they want the damn moon to let Direct TV broadcast their station.
I also called DTV and tried to bullshit them into piping down the LA or NY feed and they would have none of it. I guess it's a federal thing and they can't. I'm also trying to hunt down a feed on-line. Oh and the greedy mother ****ers that own the stations here that are residing over in Minnesota can kiss my nut sack. |

it was just a simple question im sorry I didn't see where he was from and he actually didn't say where he was from until I asked. before I said anything the only thing about location he said was something about LA network location. I can only imagine how much of a douchebag you really are when you argue about something that matters
|

that link is completely unreliable. cbssports video keeps dropping and then it cuts into 5 30 second ads in the middle of a play then moves to jason lacanfora top picks vid. I can only watch the live feed for about 30 seconds before I have to watch 4-5 ads. **** this shit.

Parents have had DirectTV for 20 years now and myself I've had it for about 4 years now. Its been great. Way better than the cable I had.

DirecTV blacked out the local NBC affiliate here in Colorado Springs. I missed the Winter Classic and PIT/BAL last night. Lord help me if this shit continues on 8 February.
|
ATT Uverse is awesome.
That is all. |

That's simply untrue. I work for a broadcast company that goes through this all the time with Directv. They pulled this same line with our markets, and the truth is, we tried to extend the agreement so we could continue to negotiate, and they pulled the plug. |

Local TV are the most-watched stations, yet the cable companies and satellite providers want to pay local TV the least for retransmission rights. Blame DTV for the outage - they're CONSTANTLY in retrans arguments with broadcasters and other stations alike. AMC was recently running ads saying they were in danger of being pulled. So who's to blame: the company that argues with everyone, or the company that seals deals with cable carriers and satellite carriers across the country, but always has trouble with DTV? |
