What movie made you walk out of a theater!
I might get some flack for this, but oh well. I have only walked out of one movie and that movie was The Illustionist. I gave it about 30-40 minutes and I was done with it
|
The Master was the most recent.
|
Hamlet 2. The only thing that made me laugh is they rip on Tucson, AZ being a shithole all through the movie and I said to my gf at the time, "That looks nothing like Tucson, more like Albuquerque."
Sure enough: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1104733/...?ref_=tt_dt_dt I dont even consider Albuquerque a shit hole. But yeah, the only thing that movie made me laugh. Glad I walked out. |
I don't think I ever have walked out of a movie because it was bad. I'm pretty picky about what I see in the theater, though.
|
None, but several animated movies I took my son to when he was little, made me want to.
I slept through more than a few. |
good will hunting.
not because of the movie itself, my girlfriend and I had broken up (2 weeks before), and I called her and asked if she wanted to go catch it. we made it 10 minutes before we decided to get back together. if you catch my drift. ps we've now been married 14 years. how 'bout dem apples? |
I've never walked out of a movie in the theater but as someone else mentioned I'm very picky about what I see in theaters.
If I'm spending $10.50 on a ticket, it's going to be for something I really WANT to see. |
Dick Tracy. **** you, FMB
|
|
Mullholland Drive
Men In black Are the two that come to mind. |
Time Machine - remake.
|
Australia
|
Eddie Murphy Raw
Didn't even come close to Delirious. |

When I was 10 I went to see Little Rascals on Opening Night. it was sold out so I got stuck seeing this Nicolas Cage movie that nobody knows exists called It could happen 2 U. It was ****ing awful. I'm careful about which movies I drop 12 bucks on at the theater, I've come across disappointing flicks but not bad enough to leave other than that one.
|
George of the Jungle, I clicked the I quit button on Anchorman 2 recently.

"Into the Woods" was the most recent, and I even got free passes. I only stayed because I knew my wife wouldn't walk out with me even though she apologized to me for using the free passes on it.
From my younger years, "One Night at McCools" will always sting for me as the worst movie going experience I've ever been to. |
some of you have shitty taste in movies.

The ex and I walked out of Royal Tennenbaums... just flat out not funny, the few good bits were all in the trailer that made us go see it in the first place.
|
I don't think I've ever walked out of a theater. Not even for Batman and Robin. That had the laugh factor though. In any case, I'm very selective about what I spend money on.
|
its been a while ago, but I walked out on Pitch Black.
God damn it was terrible. |
Chronicle.
|
Ladybugs, 1992. Went because of Rodney Dangerfield, left because it was awful. Asked the ticket office for a refund and got it. Like $3 dollars at the AMC Oak Park.
|
Lake House.

A Christmas Story. Thought it was absolute shite, and looked at my sister and she said "Let's go".

Batman and Robin. **** that movie.
|
Never walked out of one. Closest I ever came was Summer of Sam.
|
Punch Drunk Love is the only movie I've left early. I've heard good things about it since, but I was in college and looking for Happy Gilmore.
I'm not too selective about what I spend money on; with 2 small kids I don't get to the movies for adult films very often. Rotten tomatoes helps me with my selection, I watched one movie at the theater last year it was Guardians of the Galaxy. |

What a waste of two performances. Holy crap I wanted to punch everyone behind the camera. |
Dude where's my car.
Only time I left before it was over. I was in high school and even thought it was horrible. |
The Day the Earth Stood Still
|
"Top 5" sucked. I only walked out because I forgot I had a family get together to attend that day. But I considered it before I realized anyways.
|
I was 5 years old and went to see Ghostbusters 2. It scared the **** out of me. I had to go. The poor bastard running the movie theater took pity on me and gave me some candy while I waited for my mom.
|
White Chicks
But it was a Drive-In double feature. So I don't know if that counts. |

Walked out of The Heat. Melissa McCarthy is not a suitable replacement for Chris Farley.

U Turn. Great cast, stupid as hell movie.
|
Artificial Intelligence -always loved KubrIck but that movie sucked ass and would not end.

Draft Day. Found it repugnant as a film fan and a football fan.
Two I wanted to were Ghost Rider and Dreamgirls, but the people I was with didn't want to leave so I suffered through. |

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Relative like movies. They rented Sliding Doors and some math movie with Jake Gillenhall (sp). I still do not care enough to look up the name of the movie. Walked out and watched ANYTHING else that was on tv. |
I've only walked out of 2 movies, but it was because they gave me motion sickness from the shaky camera.
District 9 Cloverfield |

Dunno if I actually walked out [not big on walking out, heck I watched Legal Eagles twice in two days because I liked the people I went to the theater with each time], and I generally either vet movies before I see them, or go to movies with friends so it doesn't really matter how good or bad the movie is. But instances of my strong URGE to walk out I can remember was;
Tango and Cash That shitty sequel to The Crow with ADA Robinette. |
Tango and Cash?
It had some good one-liners in it. LMAO |

A Knight's Tale.
Was with a group of people, mostly girls I wanted to put my penis in, that wanted to see it. Didn't even make it past the opening credits (opened with some We Will Rock You shitty take). Walked out and sat in on the rest of Joe Dirt til the movie ended. Just looked at the box office take...how the hell did that movie make $56mil? |

I knew it was going to be awful, but sometimes you must make sacrifices. On this occasion, I was unwilling to wait out such a terrible movie. Looks like a bunch of other people we willing to wait it out. |

EDIT: I vaguely remember seeing batman in the theater before that so my parents probably thought it was OK. It's all pretty hazy. I was a dumbass child. My mother is a saint for not killing me out of rage and burying me in a ditch somewhere. |

Jupiter Ascending' Debuts to Muted Crowd at Sundance The Sundance Film Festival isn’t a typical launchpad for studio blockbusters, but Warner Bros. surprised theater-goers on Tuesday night by unveiling the Wachowski siblings’ Jupiter Ascending at a “secret screening. The invitation-only event, which was not billed as a premiere, was the first time Jupiter Ascending was shown to the public. Variety broke news of the screening on Tuesday afternoon, but there were other clues the audience wasn’t about to see a typical Sundance indie. When attendees with tickets arrived at the Egyptian Theater in Park City, they were handed 3D glasses. Despite the hype of a secret screening, clusters of seats inside the 300-person venue remained empty, and a handful of patrons walked out of the two-hour-plus space epic starring Mila Kunis as a princess and Channing Tatum as an intergalactic soldier tasked with rescuing her. The Wachowskis’ flair was fully on display, with sequences reminiscent of The Matrix or Star Wars. But when the film ended, the usually gracious Sundance audience didn’t clap at the closing credits. “I hated it,” said one of the festival’s volunteers, who asked not to be identified for fear of irking Sundance. “It’s just ridiculous.” Her husband was more forgiving. “It’s a combination of a whole bunch of things wrapped into one,” he said. Neville Kiser, a screenwriter, thought the movie was hurt by the fact that it was debuting at a venue for highbrow films. “I actually liked it,” Kiser said. “But the Sundance context is weird. There were so many people in the audience scoffing and sneering. They are forgetting they are watching a movie targeted primarily to teenage boys. I’m sure those 15-year-old boys, and hopefully girls, will like it.” The film’s co-directors and stars were not in attendance. One industry expert speculated that the discombobulated story would mean that Warner Bros., which spent $175 million on the film, would lose a significant chunk of money. Jupiter Ascending was originally scheduled for a summer release, which was later postponed. The movie now opens on Feb. 6 |
I've never walked out of a theater.....but the only movie i can recall people walking out on was Irreversible. People walked out in droves on that one, i imagine due to its intense, graphic nature.

But yeah, I'd put either scene on par with the footage of the Afghani pre-teen beheading a captive with a dull knife, or those Russian psychopath teens mutilating bums and filming it with their camera phone from a couple years back. |

I remember the story from my God fearing, lifelong country farm wife Grandma... she got extra bored one day and decided she'd just go uptown without saying anything about it to her husband.
So she got all dressed up and went uptown to see a show, chosen basically at random, and what did she choose?... "Little Nicky" ROFL... not only Sandlers worst movie ever, but she wouldnt have been even mildly amused by his BEST movie ever ROFL "well I just got up and walked right out of that awful thing!" Just imagine your own Grandma going to that disgrace, and she never went uptown for a movie again. |
