Here is a compilation of our WR TD's this year.

HEY KANSAS CITY, THE CHIEFS HAVE A LEAD!!!
Ah, the good old days... |
Waste? So are you saying every good player should be on the same team so they can all get rings?
|
4:10 was the Monday night game. My first game at Arrowhead. Awesome night.

Did you make the video? It's awesome. I have several observations. 1. An average running back doesn't make 30 percent of those touchdowns, and a good running back doesn't make 20 percent of them. 2. He goes in standing up a lot. 3. He makes a lot of long touchdowns. 4. If he's not your favorite Chief, you have some explaining to do. |

So which plays will they be showing when he goes into the hall of fame? Some of my votes might be:
1. Even though it wasn't a touchdown, his run against the Redskins may be his best. 2. The stumbling run against the Broncos. 3. The run against the Browns. 4. The run against the Colts. 5. The run against the Chargers where he and Flowers collided at the end. 6. The run against the Cardinals. Sorry, I was too busy watching to take notes about where those runs are in the videos. |
3:35 prompted the dedication of Jamaal Charles Day.

Daru approves of Mr. Charles.

Hopefully he has a lot left in the gastank and the whole "RBs always crash after 30" rule doesn't apply to him. |

He is greatness. What a football player. And when you learn about his story and what he overcame (Daru level, really), it's magnificent.
|
We are soooo lucky to have him !
I remember back when Schotenheimer was here and Donnell Bennett was leading our RB by committee. Then Priest showed up and we've had a good RB ever since. |
I will always remember his game at Denver that knocked them out of the playoffs. That was his coming out party.

Damn it, I want Chiefs football now and I want Charles in the first round in the fantasy draft.
|
I love him
|
Priest had more in his amazing 3-year stretch.

I mean, it's the best in NFL history. Tops Jim Brown. That alone should get it. |

And also had Tait, Shields, Weigmann, Waters, and Roaf in front of him. Charles' TDs are a direct result of JC being JC. |

I guess he felt you needed a reminder??? |

But you can like at guys like Emmit Thomas, who was among the top 10 all time in career interceptions, who wasn't enshrined for 40 years after he retired, and Johnny Robinson, who had 1 more career interception than Thomas, and Ots Taylor, who had better numbers than Lynn Swann, as players who illustrate that fact. I've always said that Tommy Nobis was every bit as good as Ray Nitsche, but he will never get in, because of the surrounding talent. 5.5 will not get Charles in. He will have to get over 10,000 yards, and the Chiefs will have to make some noise in the playoffs to have any chance. |
Looks like he's just shy of 7,000 yards and 60 TDs for his career.
He'll need about three more seasons at his current level of production to reach 10,000 yards and 100 TDs. That may just be able to get him in the Hall.. |

For comparison:
(Drafted in 06) Marshawn Lynch is at 8,600 yards and 80 TDs (Drafted in 07) Adrian Peterson is at 10,000 yards and 90 TDs (Drafted in 08) Matt Forte is at 7,700 and 60 TDs (Drafted in 09) Lesean McCoy is also just shy of 7,000 yards with just over 50 TDs (Drafted in 08) Chris Johnson is at 8,600 yards with 50 TDs Jamaal is pretty much right in line with all of the top backs as far as career numbers go; actually doing better than most if you account for the fact that he didn't start his first year and missed an entire season due to the ACL injury. Playing in such shit offenses his first several seasons really limited his TD opportunities but he's more than made up for it the past couple with Reid. If he can maintain this level of production for a few more years and do some damage in a playoff win or two his chances will look much better. |
Jamaal is truly great. What a great, great, great pick by the Edwards regime.
|
One thing that I've noticed is how terribly efficient Charles' running style is. That last head-on view of the kickoff vs Pittsburgh shows how there is no wasted motion. Legs/feet are absolutely in line with his route.....man, the guy has a beautiful stride.

This team needs some post season wins for anyone outside of KC to have much respect for the talent here... |

Putting the runs together like this lets me notice details, like when the commentators praise his patience in one run, then his ability to quickly seize the opportunity in another. It points out his adaptability, which is often overlooked in favor of his inhuman speed.
Nicely done. I'll be annoying my non-Chief friends with these on Facebook, I should think. Is it September yet? |
... or maybe not. Blocked on copyright grounds.

Yeah, they flagged it with copyright. I guess the software they use to pick up that stuff is becoming more and more advanced because i cropped a lot out(cbs, nfl logos) and they still picked it up.
Oh well. |
Those were great videos that enhanced my enjoyment of NFL football immensely. But apparently the NFL doesn't want that any more.

Every TD of Jamaal Charles' Career
I was thinking about Jamaal Charles recently & how I feel badly for him.
He would be a sure fire Hall of Famer on this Chiefs team led by Patrick Mahomes. He would have a ring which is huge for HOF status. He would have the highest YPC in history. He would have Gale Sayers type highlights. He really missed out on the notoriety he deserved. https://media2.giphy.com/media/6v2UJ...Jrin/giphy.gif |
I'd have a hard time not picking Jamaal if I could resurrect someone's career and add them to this team. Obviously Derrick Thomas would be the pick, but Jamaal could make our offense untouchable.
|
Jamaal should be in the HOF!!!!!
|
Would have been nice if Mahomes and Charles’ careers could have crossed over for a few years. JC would have been insane in this offense.

I think Charles and Derrick Thomas would have the most impact though. Imagining Charles against these light boxes is orgasm-inducing and Derrick Thomas would basically be like adding Micah Parsons to our defense and that would be incredible. Prime versions of Willie Roaf, Mitchell Schwartz, Justin Houston or Eric Berry would help out in positions of need. Marcus Peters would be a good addition. He'd be our ballhawk in the secondary to pair with more lockdown guys like McDuffie/Watson and the Swiss Army knife in Sneed. Maybe Hasty would be better. We run so much 12 and 13 personnel, we could easily work Tony Gonzalez in. Tyreek Hill would be awesome, of course lol |
Quote:
Would you take Jamaal or Tyreek? I think I'd have to go with Jamaal for the versatility. Or you add Tony Gonzaelez and run two TE sets. |
It's hard to argue against Derrick Thomas on defense, but I'd also be tempted to add Buck Buchanan alongside Chris Jones. You'd collapse the middle on every play.
|
If I had to add one player now it would be Derrick Johnson in his prime.

Is it bringing them back for one game, a season, their entire career? Are injuries random? Does their injury history match their past Chiefs career? Are injuries random since their career doesn't turn out exactly the same in this new scenario? Hill holds the edge on positional value and injury history but there's a solid argument building for the fact that he was potentially holding Mahomes back a bit. Charles has low positional value but he is so much better than any of the backs we've got on the roster. Teams would never be able to survive against us with these light boxes. You can't go wrong either way but I'd lean toward Jamaal just because I've already seen Tyreek in this offense. I want to see what JC brings. Quote:
