Easter Menu!!!

Yes, every Holiday must have a menu or some sort of dinner/lunch plan. What are you making today for the festivities? If you can post pics. Happy Easter.

Coochie liquor 04-05-2015 10:24 AM

Going out to lunch with the family. No clue on dinner but maybe shrimp. We don't do anything special for Easter.

Buehler445 04-05-2015 10:26 AM

Ham.

My wife made these bunny shaped rolls. It's a cute idea.

Lonewolf Ed 04-05-2015 10:26 AM

Smoked ham doctored up with orange juice and honey marinade and cloves stuck in the ham, potatoes with Danish parsley gravy, corn, and a salad for me!

Easy 6 04-05-2015 10:37 AM

Bone in ham with brown sugar and pineapple glaze, sweet potatoes, 7 layer salad, egg noodles with mushrooms in chicken stock, rolls.

Courtesy of my sainted mother.

gblowfish 04-05-2015 10:38 AM

I did all my cooking yesterday for a final four party. So today, we have left overs. But they're really GOOD leftovers. Ribs, turkey, ham, deviled eggs, bbq beans, cole slaw, potato salad, rolls and butter, pretty great stuff.

Mojo Jojo 04-05-2015 10:38 AM

Smoked salmon, roasted asparapus

Question: Is there anywhere in this great land to buy a gammon (raw ham) instead of pre-cooked hams?

ptlyon 04-05-2015 10:42 AM

Hasenpfeffer ;)

WhawhaWhat 04-05-2015 10:50 AM

Grilled brats, potato salad, baked beans, homemade mac n cheese, deviled eggs. Making none of it, eating a lot of it.

Wow old school. I would ask your meat market butcher if he could special cut the gammon joint for you. Burgers Smokehouse in California Missouri maybe if you call and specifically ordered. They smoke the meats there but they get it and maybe butcher it themselves.

Unsmooth-Moment 04-05-2015 11:30 AM

Steak, asparagus, and smoked baked beans.

MMXcalibur 04-05-2015 11:46 AM

Nothing wrong with going non-traditional, sometimes ya gotta shake things up a bit.

I'll put pics up later. I am stuffed and digesting.

Honey Baked Ham ( was a gift so used that, but I usually do rack of lamb for Easter)
Cheese Ravioli in Pumpkin Sauce with Parmesan Cheese
Lemony Roasted Asparagus
Sweet Potatoes
Field Green Salad with Apples and Pistachios
This here with same dressing but no cheese and used field greens instead.

Pinot Noir California

Chocolate Raspberry Tart for dessert with coffee.
Too rich. Was like eating a candy bar. Oh well, Easter is about chocolate.

That looks like better-than-average bacon.

That's funny because I was thinking the exact same thing when I was placing them on the cookie sheet. Long story short everything that is Albertsons brand is on sale because Haggens took over. Got these on sale for $3.99 a lb. Just the regular ole Albertsons brand bacon.

Ceej 04-05-2015 03:28 PM

Going classy - Taco Pizza.

Meat to fat ratio on those is better than many.

I was pretty stoked about them myself. We actually went back to stock up ourselves.

Just Passin' By 04-05-2015 10:09 PM

Seasoned pork roast
Dry rubbed and garlic-studded beef roast with a cognac-mustard sauce
Roasted asparagus with parmesan
Mashed potatoes
Broccoli in a butter sauce
Sauteed mushrooms and onions
Good wines
Pineapple bread pudding, eclairs and other desserts

Don Corlemahomes 04-05-2015 11:06 PM

Simple, but delicious:
Braised lamb shanks
Seafood risotto
Steamed fresh vegetables
Fruit salad

My brother-in-law is a sous-chef at a top restaurant where I live. I buy all the shit and he does the rest.

Sorce 04-06-2015 07:35 AM

We always cook the food of another culture for easter, kind of fun. Last year we had a greek easter, this year was Japanese.

Home made pork goyza and soba with duck.

InChiefsHeaven 04-06-2015 11:20 AM

Nobody does Lamb?

We had:

Roast Lamb
Roast Ham
Roasted potatoes with Rosemary and Olive oil
Salad
Deviled Eggs
Bread
Olives and pickles
Champagne, wine, bourbon...we're not savages after all...

Actually probably a lot more stuff, but those were the items on my plate. My family is HUGE into Easter, it's the biggest holiday of the year for us.
