TOP 3 NEEDS GOING INTO THE DRAFT

1. Interior offensive line: The left guard spot was the weakness of the Chiefs' offensive line in the 2014 season, and right guard was also a problem area. Guard has been addressed in free agency with the signing of Paul Fanaika and in a trade for Ben Grubbs. But the departure of center Rodney Hudson to Oakland leaves a void. Whether it's center or guard, the Chiefs need help inside.

2. Wide receiver: The signing of free-agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin was a major addition for a position group that could not catch a touchdown pass in 16 games last season. So weak is the talent pool at wide receiver that the Chiefs could use one or two more quality catchers.

3. Inside linebacker: Derrick Johnson is coming off a ruptured Achilles tendon and while his rehab appears to have gone well, at the age of 32 it's hard to predict whether he can return to his Pro Bowl form. There is not much in the way of young talent ready to step into the lineup after last year's leading tackler Josh Mauga.

I've seen worse mocks than that one.

I think they nailed it with Rowe in the first. He just screams "Dorsey pick", particularly with Sean Smith in the last year of his contract and facing a two game suspension.

Those who do not want DGB.......now picture him on NE, Den or Indy and hear about KC still doesn't have enough on the outside to beat those teams. Picture DGB on those teams with those QBs.....while we pick our safe CB or OL......

doesn't seem like Rowe or Strong is an ideal fit for us to me

Strong more of a possession guy
Rowe more of a zone guy

Disagree on Rowe. He's the prototypical Dorsey pick - a kind of an under the radar guy with good college stats and great measurable that would in theory be replacing a star in the last year of his contract.

Don't know much about Strong, other than opinions on him are all over the place.

If you are going to pick Strong, you may as well pick DGB. Strong doesn't overly impress me

I've been saying that about DGB. I can see him with the Pats. How the hell would you defend them in the red zone with DGB and Gronk?

I have been very vocal on this board about wanting Alex Smith replaced. While I know that is a pipe dream for the immediate future, it makes absolutely no sense to me that we wouldn't draft a QB to groom while we waste the next couple of seasons with Alex. Especially in a draft that we have extra picks.

**** back to back OGs in the 3rd.

They need to take at least two wideouts. They don't necessarily have to use a #1, but pick one with a #2 and and #4 at least.

You have ro consider what Dorsey is looking for at WR to determine whether DGB is a legitimate option.
The same can be said about strong.

Will he be picking someone that fits this offense, and more specifically Alex Smith, or will he be picking someone that has a high ceiling regardless of offensive philosophy and QB?

DGB has tremendous potential, but is a bad fit.

If Dorsey is picking for thsi offense, and for Smith, there is no way in hell he's the pick.

Because...

Don't really like the back to back OGs either, but the rest of the slate is decent enough that it's not a dealbreaker.

The Chiefs absolutely need a tight end though, and I think taking a RB higher than the 4th round might be worth considering too.

Yeah, not a fan of that either. Throw another DB or LB'er in there instead...

I think the Raiders will take DGB in the first or second round.

replace w/ b2b WRs in the 3rd, then anything else in the 2nd lol, and a G/C later instead of flyer WR, and i could geet behind this.

Well, in the first would help us a bunch.

I like Waller (as a TE).

Not a fan of this at all... way too many offensive linemen, we need another center this year and that's about it.

Don't wanna chew up 1/3 of the freaking draft with O linemen, and not getting a backup for Poe is another fail.

Back to back in the third is better than taking one in the first.

Strong won't be there at 49. This draft stinks.

Am I wrong to not like Devin Smith? I know he's fast, I know he was a playmaker at Ohio State...I just can't seem to get excited at the thought of him being a Chief. What am I missing here?

I can't speak to the later round prospects, not that up to speed there, but i could throw out a few guys that i'd be pretty thrilled with if we pulled this off...

DGB getting drafted by the raiders in the first round. Fourth overall.

My god, even the raiders aren't as reeruned as CP.

Lockett is not making it to the third, much less the end of the third.

i see some say he's a 1 route fly guy, others who say he could develop the whole route tree. i don't know enough to say myself.

Many of those may not be, just a wish list kinda thing

Devin Smith is kind of like a Steve Smith IMO. Same body shape, can catch over the shoulder, fast, strong. I'm ok with that pick.

After the Dee Ford pick last year, I have no freaking idea what Dorsey will do.

He drafts for the future and he really does draft BPA. Don't be surprised if its a CB or a ILB

WR has been a need for a long time now and as long as it isn't addressed it will be a "future" need as well. Doesn't have to be addressed in the first necessarily, but Dorsey had better pull his head out of his ass and realize we still don't have shit at WR beyond Jeremy Maclin.

Just take those position at those picks, regardless of value.

People forget this guy was amazing before he got hurt. He was a steal for the Chiefs. I drafted him to the Dolphins in the cp mock last year. Stud.
