Folks, I don't know what to say about this guy to determine whether or not he is good? You know, his last two outings were damn impressive. He pitched two consecutive outings where he took no hitters into the 8th inning. No bluejay pitcher has done that since Dave Steib.

Here are a few of Marco Estrada stats for this season:

5 wins, 3 losses, 3.45 era, 77IP, 63 SO, and a Whip of 1.096. That's pretty impressive. Now if you look at his stats from years past, they're pretty average. But, remember this is a guy who isn't a consistent starter year in and year out. He alternated a lot between being a long middle inning reliever and a spot starter. This year he looks like he could start and has been more than what the bluejays have asked for. Could he be a pitcher on the rise? Maybe. Maybe he is one of those guys that's like a fine wine and gets better with age. Maybe he is the hidden gem? I hope he is bros. Royals fans beware. You should keep your eyes on him. He might be tough for you guys to play against? Just a heads up homies:)

They should care. To me, bluejays are a team on the rise. Best offence in majors hands down. If this team had better starting pitching and a closer they'd beat anybody.

Just think about how good this can really be? If Marco Estrada turns out to be a superstar pitcher and beats the Royals, then maybe one could pull up this thread for future references and if he stinks it up, then shame on me for talking too soon lol

If Rich Gannon can become a star QB at 30 something, then why not an MLB pitcher? I know football is irrelevant to baseball but this stuff happens in many sports.

I wasn't around to witness this but Johnny Bower; goaltending legend that played for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the '60s who was part of their dynasty teams in that era, didn't blossom and become a star in the NHL till his 30s.

You need to come to Canada then. **** the Royals and American beer. Come watch some Jays games and drink some Labatts blue. The bluejays winning and Labatts blue is better than the taste of the royals winning and Budweiser.

The only American beer that comes close to beating Labatts is Miller genuine draft. That beer is fantastico! But still a short cry from Labatts blue. It's pretty close but no cigar.

I was at the Rays and Blue Jays game on Wednesday in St. Pete that Estrada pitched. Most impressive was the catch by the 3rd basement for Toronto falling into the stands, it was on SportCenter. Also, I think it was in the ninth, the Rays had men on 1st and 2nd and they were both running, and the batter hit a line drive back to the pitcher. He threw to first, but threw the ball away. Evan Longoria was all the way down to third, and he had to run back to 2nd to tag, and dove in, only to see the ball go past the first basement, so Longoria took off for third again. So he went down to third, back to second, down to third. It was something to see.
