Back in the good ole days they used to have every movie and show streaming on Netflix. Sure it was shitty quality, but it was tons of content.

Now they have starzplay, but it is tied to your cable subscription. Rendering it pointless.

How come you can't find the trilogy available on the internet? I found some companies in UK and Germany, but did they pull it from companies in the US or something?

I can only guess, but if I were Starz I'd probably buy up the rights to the trilogy and show it exclusively on my channels. I would also make them available for free from starz.com though. Just to increase interest in the new TV show. Have no idea what has actually happened though.

Army of Darkness is there, Epix has Evil Dead 2, haven't seen the original on any of the premium stations recently.

Amazon prime has it but I believe it's only for purchase ($9 range I think.)

Honestly you can skip ED1 if you want because ED2 is mostly a remake and a better made one at that...

Never seen ED1, but I understand it was basically the "made with 60 bucks" version of ED2, which was still delightfully cheesy, Last night, flipping through channels, I came across Army of Darkness on a channel called El Rey...I wonder if that's a Starz channel. It was un-edited but still had commercials.

Anyway, I can find the whole trilogy but not from US vendors. Just thought that was odd, but I guess it's possible that Starz bought it up or something.

And for the record I bought "If Chins Could Kill" for $1.50 plus shipping off Amazon.

If you are any kind of fan at all of the ED films or the brilliance that is Bruce Campbell (and his greatness is HUGE) I highly recommend it.

From a plot standpoint, ED2 happens the day right after ED1 ends. They are two fairly different movies with a common theme of the evil spirits wrecking stuff. In the first, it's Ash and his friends getting torn apart. In 2, it's Ash fighting the spirits basically alone until some strangers related to the original owner of the cabin show up about halfway through the movie. And from a tone standpoint, the first movie is all horror and the second movie sprinkles in quite a bit of comedy.

Sorry. Just assumed that Evil Dead in general was not really work appropriate. Now I know that the gore, violence, and foul language as put forth in the initial video in this thread is perfectly acceptable work environment material. A spoof on sex acts with absolutely zero genitalia display is where we draw the line.

Thanks for letting me know.

They're trying to make Evil Dead 2, but they can't get the money for it, so I came down here." So Stephen King, I'm told -- I've never talked to Mr. King about this -- but the rumor is that he called Dino De Laurentiis and said, "Dino, you've got to make these guys' movie, Evil Dead 2." So we got a call from Dino De Laurentiis, and he sat us down in his big office and said, "Okay, we're going to make the movie

Thought the episode was damn good. Definitely sticking with the same look and feel as the movies. I was hoping they wouldn't try to modernize it to much as they do with a lot of remakes of movies.

Its sam raimi all the way.. my gf didnt like it a whole lot, but she has no idea why they are doing those wired shots, the close up of Ash face by the doll, the on ground advancing camera shot, the sliding forward old lady, etc etc

Its so plain as day classic Raimi and I love it.

I can see where he is coming from though, in the short backstory monologue he doesn't mention going back in time or Army of Darkness at all.

I thought it was kind of implied, especially because of the doll scene, as he knows the evil likes to get into miniature form already.

Just like AOD, he learns from his previous experience in ED2 about the possessed faking death etc etc.

continuity like a mofo

Exactly, Rami has said it is a sequel. Just limited on references to AoD because if licensing.
