Cyrus went Bye-rus.

BossChief 07-29-2015 09:32 AM

I wonder if he failed a physical or something.

ThaVirus 07-29-2015 09:33 AM

So we're rolling with Charcandrick West as the #3?

Wouldn't care if they didn't carry a no. 3. With RBs, there's always a guy off the street or someone else's practice squad that could come in and contribute the next week, if needed.

thabear04 07-29-2015 09:40 AM

Did not think he would get cut. So if West become the other #3 RB or they could put Thomas as the #3 Back because he is listed RB/WR on the roster.

stevieray 07-29-2015 09:40 AM

....how long was he with the Chiefs?

suzzer99 07-29-2015 09:40 AM

They cut Soyyyy-rus!!!

suzzer99 07-29-2015 09:41 AM

YES! Can't believe I got that in before anyone else.

He could have taken Poe's spot until he came back. Noooo!!

Titty Meat 07-29-2015 09:45 AM

Should have cut him after the Indy game

Well he was going on his 4th year. Maybe he came in out of shape for camp and fail his physical.

I have a feeling that 99% of NFL players would fail physics.

after this season we will be purged of every turd pick from the Fat Scott era except for the three obvious good ones that even a monkey could have picked.

Berry
Houston

...?

I'll give credit to Fat Scott for Bailey and Poe. I would also have given him credit for Hudson, but we all know how that worked out.

We save 668,500.

About 9.5m in cap space now.

Really? I'm surprised he was even "rated".

Guys like him are a dime a dozen, especially coming off a torn ACL.

Coochie liquor 07-29-2015 02:22 PM

Maybe they're making a roster spot for a signing to help with Poe's absence?

BossChief 07-29-2015 02:24 PM

IMO they really should bring in Barry Coefield unless they think someone can adequately rotate with Poe without weakening another position.

thabear04 07-29-2015 02:37 PM

Does he count as dead money?

Chiefs release injured running back Cyrus Gray

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) -- The Chiefs have released running back Cyrus Gray, who tore his ACL last November, in what coach Andy Reid described Wednesday as a ''football decision.''

The former sixth-round pick ran for 99 yards and a touchdown in 35 games, but was also a valuable special teams player. His departure leaves Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis, Keshawn Hill, Anthony Sherman, Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West among running backs on the roster.

While Eric Berry's return from cancer treatment dominated the first day of training camp, there was some other injury news. Wide receiver Chris Conley strained his knee during the workout, and linebacker Ramik Wilson was placed on the non-football injury list with a back strain.

Quarterback Tyler Bray worked out with the trainers. He's returning from an ACL injury.

Wha? Was it him, or Wilson, that hurt their hamstring in OTAs?

Gray stole it, but he also made it better. They did go to HS and college together, so I can't blame Cyrus for liking the donkey.
