Q39 or Joe's Kansas City

I know this has been rehashed many times. Meeting a friend from Lincoln in late August for a Royals games and BBQ. We are both driving considerable distances, so we want the best. So, Q39 or Joe's Kansas City? Already ruled out antifreeze as an appetizer. What say the gourmets?

I know there is probably some back story to this, but WTF does Q39 have to do with soccer fans? Every time I've been in there is looked like a 30-40 year old lawyer crowd.

They are 5 minutes apart max. Get both. I enjoy both for the food, but I don't like to eat in either of the restaurants. Find a nice stone porch to sit on, or go to Roanoke Park which is right there.

Gates is like, the 22nd best BBQ place in Kansas City.

I give the edge to Oklahoma Joes, but I can see how people like Q39. To me, Jack Stack is actually behind Q39 in 3rd. But gates? Way way down the list. As well as LC's, but I've only ate LC's once so maybe they were having a bad day.
