Probably wait until spring to get it.

I thought so. My XJ is on its la last legs but I can nurse it through winter for under $500. Could possibly save up to around $12k for down payment if I wait until late may or early June.

I need a new truck. Then I look at trucks online and see what they're selling for, and I say **** it and keep driving my old truck.

Yep. I have seen 13 year old wranglers with 140k still going for over $10k.

Same here. I got the diesel. Great mileage, but it's been in the shop a few times. Runs like a bat out of hell when the turbo kicks in.

2017 model. Expected starting price I have seen is over $40k. I refuse to spend that on a vehicle that will get beat to shit.

Hoover 08-03-2015 08:12 PM

I just bought a 1952 Willies military Jeep with my old man. All original. Needs work, but pretty kick ass.

Oh I don't disagree, I have a '00 Cherokee that is my fun machine - the 14 is just so I can still get around when it floods/blizzards around here lol

Haha, I was being serious - do you feel that the GC is more prone to breakdown ? I really wanted an Unlimited but my better half vetoed the idea. I'll definitely trade her in in '17 if they will have a diesel version.

My XJ is a 2000. Starting to rust badly in places and electrical gremlins are breeding. Also no a/c which makes rush hour horrendous. Time to put her out to pasture and replace with a wrangler.

From what I have seen is that they are expected in the 2017 model. I wish I could convince myself it is worth the premium price.

But if I spend the extra for diesel then no yearly vacations.

That sucks! Sorry to hear. Mine is starting to rust on the body, nothing I have noticed undercarriage wise. How many miles does she have?

The amount you save in not going to the pump is worth it.

I just traded in a VW Jetta Turbo Diesel that was getting 35-38 MPG. If the Jeep can get 25-30 that's totally worth it.

220k. Had 91k when I got it 8 years ago. Engine still strong. Just too many little things I am tired of chasing.

Just picked up 4 of these bad boys for my 04 Wrangler. I've been doing a lot of tune up stuff by myself. I've never been an auto mechanic type, but it's been fun and I've learned a ton.

Changing the blower motor resistor had me wanting to go on a killing spree though.

It looks like inbred jeep offspring that grandpa willys should have put down before the townsfolk found out the wrangler banged it's half sister the patriot.

I had a 1993 GC and a 2002 GC, both straight six Larado package. Best engine ever. I put 150K on the first one and 250K on the second one.

I bought a Lesbian Mobile (Subaru Outback) to replace the 2002. The new GC's with decent equipment are close to $40 Grr. Too many samolias for an SUV.

The front end doesn't look that bad. I think it looks better than a jeep Cherokee.

Not even the signature grill can make that ugly ass thing look anything like any kind of Jeep.

Absolutely terrible design. But that is what happens when your parent company is European.....

I've got a 96' Cherokee, 4.0 liter, 4x4, 257,000 miles on the original drive train. Still runs good, doesn't even burn any oil.
