Kinda what we all knew going in that the OL is a work in progress and gets worse from left to right. Denver knew that. So does the rest of the league.

I just hoped that it was "good enough" to keep the Chiefs in the hunt till it improved and/or got healthy.

ThaVirus 09-18-2015 10:10 AM

Stephenson and Grubbs are already in midseason form.

Morse looks great for a rookie and it's not unrealistic to assume he'll get better with time.

LDT has struggle but that's to be expected. He's got more potential than anyone on our line aside from Stephenson and Fisher.

Fisher needs to hurry up and make his comeback so we can get the right side figured out. It's the obvious weak point at this point in time. It's doubly bad because Alex sees it every snap and he's already a scared little bitch.

Shaid 09-18-2015 11:11 AM

I thought LDT looked like he got banged up pretty good on one play and he looked worse after that. Don't remember exactly when it was but I remember thinking that he was looking pretty gimpy getting back to the line.

I saw the same play where it appeared he struggled to get back to the huddle. I believe he and Stephenson both played injured last night.

srvy 09-18-2015 11:21 AM

Also seen Fisher after he relieve for one play try to help Jamal up after a run and got shruged off cold shoulder.

Teams pissed at that guy.

WhawhaWhat 09-18-2015 11:23 AM

No idea whether Dorsey's story about 2 other teams behind them wanting to take Mitch Morse in the second round is true or not, but I'm glad they didn't get an opportunity.

Yeah, glad we have a long break before the next game.

I want to see how many times Jamell Fleming was targeted, and how many completions he yielded.

Actually, I don't WANT to see it, but a part of me needs to see it. It's kind of like looking at your incision after surgery.

According to what others have posted, he was targeted 13 times and gave up 9 catches for 128 yards and a TD. He had 1 PD and, going off my memory, had 1 penalty.

That was all? Really? It seemed like it was way, way more than that. That's only about half of their passing yardage.

I'm not sure where they got those numbers. BossChief posted a graph in another thread. It appears to be from PFF.

philfree 09-18-2015 11:45 AM

The biggest thing with the O line is they don't get it done on 3rd down. As good as our D is it couldn't close the game out on 3rd downs either. We get pressure until the game is on the line and then we don't finish.

That's Fleming surrendering 128 yards out of their 256 total passing yards.

TigeRRUppeRRcut 09-18-2015 11:58 AM

Stephenson is pretending he can't play right tackle because he and his agent know there is more money to be made on that side.

Man, that seems awful low versus what I watched.

The Broncos WRs dropped a lot of balls against Fleming as well. That and Manning was overthrowing or underthrowing too. It could have been WAY worse.

Reason #1 why Bob Sutton gets criticized around here in spite of some really unique and brilliant coverages and blitzes he calls.

The defense never appears to actually adjust or evolve throughout a game. Not that you always need that sort of thing, but when a QB is clearly targeting ONE DEFENSIVE BACK because that's the primary weak spot of the team, it's time to start fixing shit to prevent that.

Well...it seemed more and a lot worse because he was the reason DEN converted on 3rd down a lot in the 2nd half.

l4z4rd 09-18-2015 01:59 PM

wasn't Fleming also the one who had the holding penalty that gave Denver a fresh set of downs to score the game tying TD?

Yep.

And should have been flagged twice for that same thing in the game against Houston.

Dude is a menace.

kccrow 09-18-2015 03:10 PM

O-Line is Shit. All facets. Not good enough. Can't seal run lanes, can't pass block multiple and shifting fronts. Way too many minuses across the board. Right side looked lost.

Yep. Hard to say at this point if its any better than last year's overall. I'd say that it definitely has the potential to be though. Bad thing is after last year's debacle, it sucks that we're still having to talk about it and cross our fingers. As it stands now, it gets worse from left to right. Denver knew it and so does the rest of the league. It's no secret.
