Today was not entirely awful! Thanks to the Royals, I have some games coming up to look forward to!

I agree, my only big complaint was that it apparently the Royals don't believe in providing lids for your drinks so that when you carry them they slop around & get spilled like putting it under your seat & it gets kicked and you are in upper deck in the middle of a row so no chance in going back down to get a refill and climb over 50 people again.

Just head up to the ticket counter day of.

stubhub, as late as possible.

We've learned last year that if you are able to wait to the last minute, people start to sweat and lower their prices to sell. Especially 30-60 minutes before the game.

If you don't live close enough to the park to do that, then just wait as late as you can, and get them the morning of, they should still be cheaper than now.

If you value selection over price, then now might be better because you obviously have fewer to choose from at the last hour.

edit: keep in mind the prices will be stupid-high even an hour to the game. They'll just merely be stupid-high instead of completely and utterly insanely high.

My daughter scored 2 tickets for Thursdays game. I was hoping she would get some for when I am in town. I will be at Arrowhead on Sunday but unless a miracle happens I won't be attending any Royals Playoffs.

SRO tix were $95 through the Royals when offered up to STH for early purchase. So that's probably the floor. I can't see them going much below that unless someone has to intentionally lose money on them because they can't make it.

I think it's similar. Both teams are at a disadvantage at the K but have a major advantage at their home park.

I think the Astros have starting pitching that bothers KC more than the Yankees, though the Yankees do have a lockdown pen full of high K guys, and the Astros' pen is full of JAGs.

The Astros are an awful road team and wouldn't be able to throw Keuchel until Game 3, so I like that (though they'd be able to use Keuchel at home in that situation).

I live three hours away, so I don't know if I can really take my chances with that. I'll probably have to get them earlier just for my own peace of mind. I appreciate the feedback though.

You should either get tickets now (for best seat selection), or get them the morning of the game (for best price on the few seats left).

On Tuesday night through Wednesday morning, hundreds of yankee or astros fans will suddenly decide to plan a trip to KC.

All games are sold out. If you see a ticket on Royals.com, it is someone who decided to re-sell their ticket through the Royals for some reason instead of stubhub. You need to be very lucky (and very fast) to buy a ticket on royals.com.

The few playoff tickets that weren't bought up by season ticket holders were sold off to a few Royals fans who won a ticket lottery.

I'd buy now before Yankee fan drives it up.

The prices are not going to climb, but they will reduce the selection so you won't have as many choices.

What happened last year was the tickets were listed for absurd prices, selling slowly, then there was a small flurry after the opponents bought a few, but there has always been about 800-1,000 tickets left on the morning of the game, and the people holding those tickets start to sweat and lower prices to get rid of them as the clock ticks.

Just checked stubhub, and prices are already lower than about 5 days ago. Hy-Vee box at around row H in the infield was in the $200-210 range. Now its about 170-180.

The price will still be very high the day of the game, but maybe they will be closer to 140 or 150. (and maybe a lot lower an hour before gametime)

I just checked the Cardinals on Stub Hub, difference in a SRO ticket is about $40 right now with the Cards being cheaper.
