Chiefs edging closer to another No. 1 overall draft pick

It doesn't take a genius to realize this season is quickly getting away from the Kansas City Chiefs, who have lost four straight games and at 1-4 are on the bottom of the AFC West.

It does take people of above average intelligence to figure out their chances for getting the No. 1 overall pick in next year's draft. Fortunately, the fine folks at ESPN Analytics fit into that category.

They've crunched the numbers on what remains of the season for the Chiefs and the rest of the NFL teams and determined Kansas City will likely have the 12th pick in the draft.

For those who aren't happy with that number, take hope. The Chiefs were projected to have the 15th pick, according to ESPN Analytics, before last week's loss to the Chicago Bears. So there's plenty of time for them to continue to slide.

The Chiefs have a 2.2 percent chance to get the No. 1 overall pick, a 17 percent chance to pick in the top five and a 43 percent chance of selecting in the top 10.

As of now, the Chiefs would pick somewhere in the top seven. They are one of six teams with a 1-4 record. The only team that's worse is the 0-5 Detroit Lions.

The Lions would have the No. 1 overall pick as of now. But the Chiefs play against the Lions on Nov. 1 in London, so a (well-timed?) loss for the Chiefs that day can do wonders for their draft status.

ESPN Analytics, by the way, gives the Chiefs a 41 percent chance of winning Sunday's game against the Vikings in Minneapolis.

All good players, though, the real problem is, with three being redshirt juniors who might not declare, it would really lower the overall possibilities of getting a true impact player in the top five in the 2016 NFL Draft.

We got our "stop-the-bleeding" win in 2011. That idiotic shitty ****ing come-from-behind win in Indianapolis with Matt Cassel. And Haley grew a beard. It was ****ing rally time!

The Bears game had the potential to be that win. We could have blown them out and gotten psyched up to go on a tear through the easy part of the schedule.

They didn't even pull out a shit-eating win, like the Texans game. They ****ing lost. To the ****ing Bears.

It's not going to happen like it did in 2011. The Bears game has killed the fight in us. We're not a plucky young team trying to find its way, either. We're a team that was gearing up for postseason success for the first time in forever and had shit blow up in our faces. Andrew Luck Has regressed
Robert Griffin III is pretty much done
Ryan Tannehill got Phillbin fired
Brandon Weeden got benched for Matt cassel
Russell Wilson is on one of the worst offenses ever in Seattle
Nick Foles just had a terrible game and was traded
Kirk Cousins cost the Skins a game in overtime

Not one superstar this year among them.

Even if Cook/Goff suck I really wont care if we Draft a QB said player will have a year or two of a free pass just because Smith has been bad on a biblical proportion.

I just want to be able to watch a first round QB we draft. See him progress through preseason and year one to year two and three. At least something to watch since we'll never win anything meaningful.

Luck has slumped, but the guy will be fine.
