Must win game with the Twins storming into town this weekend.

Great Expectations 04-05-2016 10:00 AM

I'm very surprised that the Mets are only -120 with a Young vs Syndergaard matchup.

journeyscarab 04-05-2016 10:02 AM

Going to the game! GO ROYALS!

Yep, lose this and we are DONE.

I hope we put the kind of beating on Shytergaard that Zach Grienke got on Opening day. Hate this guy! What a classless pos.

Go Royals let's beat these guys again!!

Noah Syndergaard rookie card.

Apparently, the ring ceremony is early enough prior to first pitch that the Mets aren't forced to watch if they don't want to. I'd strap them down like Clockwork Orange.

Seems reasonable to me that the Mets would kneel and smile respectfully during the ceremony. And Noah could really bury the hatchet by kissing Escobar's ring once presented.

As a D-Back fan that game last night hurt. It was cool when Grienke drove in the first run of the year but he then followed that up by giving up 6 runs the next 1/2 inning. :cuss:

I think it was over boozed, the parking lot was full when I got there a little after 3:00. Hard for a lot of us people over 30 to keep it going from noon to 10:30.

Maybe some of this was the case. Saw very little drunkenness inside the stadium, though. I kinda chalked it up to ticket prices being crazy high and bringing in lots of high society types.

ROFL - I don't know if I actually saw one high society type in the 10 thousand or so fans that tried to pee all over my feet in the rest rooms...........:D

Spott 04-05-2016 12:45 PM

Opening day was Sunday.

kcfanXIII 04-05-2016 12:51 PM

I started tailgating at around 1:30 on Sunday. I paced myself, and refrained from the shots of fireball that were going around. My girl, not so much. She was sitting with one of her girlfriends, and I had SRO. in the 5th inning we met up for a smoke. She was ready to go, and my feet and legs were hurting so bad, I didn't really feel like arguing with her. I was home in my sweats on the couch for the last inning of the game. A part of me is ashamed for leaving early. The part that is my actual age (35) and had to work Monday morning was really happy to be comfortable, and beat the traffic. Besides, it was her fault we had to leave. Drunk mama gets what drunk mama wants...

Well you know the high society types have a totally different set of rest rooms than the common folk. Wine, cheese, urinal cakes...

It'll be interesting to see how absurd the rings are. David Glass wanted to give his players huge blingey rings last year, but Dayton convinced him to dial it back to leave room for a bigger ring if they ever won a world series.

Ring ceremony starting now

Halfcan 04-05-2016 01:42 PM

Awesome comments by the Mets fans. They still have little respect for the WORLD CHAMPION ROYALS.

It would be nice to see: Royals play small ball to push runs across (death by 1000 cuts offense), several Mets errors, knock Shytergaard out of the game and start 2-0.

C3HIEF3S 04-05-2016 01:48 PM

Rios and Holland are being presented their rings today, too. Solid move by the Royals.

kcfanXIII 04-05-2016 01:49 PM

What do you think? Those rings look like they are about 60 feet 6 inches away from the Mets dugout.

They should be doing every Royals game that's on FOX. It was a recent settlement in court, IIRC. All of the teams that are FOX-affiliated are doing it.
