Zankou Chicken
Roro's El Pollo Loco |
Does the chicken in the deli of Price Chopper count? It's cooked and it's hot.
|
Raising Cains
BoJangles never heard of either BoJangles -where is the racist lawsuit for this one? |
Nothing close around here, but when traveling and the guilty mood hits, KFC original.
I just have to post this since this is a chicken thread. We finally went through Pittsburg, Kansas yesterday at a time when "Chicken Annie's" was open. It was awesome, they are not afraid to charge though. In addition to our meals, we took 6 pieces to go at $3 each. Last time I was in there was 1961 on a hunting trip with Dad. Going to try Chicken Mary's next time. |
Bojangles boberry biscuits may be one of the best fast food items ever made.
Here in Louisiana, I get my chicken at Raisin' Canes. |

Popeyes if I want real chicken, love the spicy. Chick Fil A if I want nuggets. Damn though Chicken Annies and Chicken Marys has some of the best chicken ever.
|
Popeyes for me usually. The wife is a KFC fan, for their sorry ass potatoes and gravy of all things.
I don't know why anyone would eat at Churches. |
|
|
Pollo Campero-Their chicken rocks. Always crispy, never greasy. Yucca fries also very good.
http://www.campero.com/ This is a local small chain here in the DMV but they do rotisserie style Peruvian chicken which is the bomb! http://www.guaposrestaurant.com/#home |
|
Chic fil a. The best
|
Popeyes is decent. I like their biscuits and red beans and rice. Don't eat much fried chicken anymore.
|
El pollo rey if im not looking for fried
|
Go Chicken Go
|
Ive had nothing but KFC but the last time was like 6 months ago.
never again |
Zaxby's is good.
|
Go Chicken Go
The North End Niecie's Gus's |
There isn't a chicken place close to me. I grab it at the grocery store deli section. There are two KFC places within easy driving distance and I avoid them, they suck. The last chicken place I went to was Popeye's. If there was one here I'd go. So 1) Popeye's and 2) Grocery store deli.

I still like KFC really well. Probably that. If I were in KC it'd be different.
|
My rankings:
1. Popeyes - definitely my favorite 2. Raising Cains - very good but wildly overpriced 3. BoJangles - They only lasted about year here in Pigsknuckle back in the late 80s. I know I ate there at least once but I don't remember much about it 4. Chick Fil A, Churches, El Pollo Loco - Never ate at any of them but all are most certainly better than KFC 5. KFC - So awful I ranked 3 places I've never eaten at above them |
Been in Louisiana and Mississippi for work this past week. Keep seeing this raising canes. Is it really that good? Is it spicy or just regular chicken strips? Might have to try it over the next couple days? What's the sauce like? Looks kind of like the Mardi Gras mustard from Popeyes.

I've tried Go Chicken Go recently. It was OK. I really liked the chicken strips at Slim Chicken in Independence better. It was hot tender and tasty, like me.

7th street is the.best imo |
Its gotta be Popeyes... crispy, not too greasy and just the right amount of spicy heat

Best Chicken Strips in town are Stroud's hands down. But they are pricey. |

That's my least favorite. |
And I love their go sauce, I keep a bottle on hand

Go Chicken Go beats Stroud’s to win The Star’s fried chicken tournament Winner winner, chicken dinner. After tallying more than 6,600 votes in the fourth and final round of our monthlong fried chicken tournament, we’re ready to crown Kansas City’s king of fried chicken. In a decisive victory, Go Chicken Go beat Stroud’s with 70 percent of the popular vote. Go Chicken Go, a locally owned fast-food chain known for fried gizzards and G-Sauce, was founded in 1969 in a gas station at 59 N. Seventh St. in Kansas City, Kan. Owner Alex Lowe says the secret to Go Chicken Go’s success is fresh, never frozen chicken, affordable prices and dedicated employees. He adds that all five locations have at least one employee who has worked for Go Chicken Go for more than 20 years. “Not much has changed at Go Chicken Go in 30 years,” Lowe says. “But I think that’s a positive, and it’s part of what our customers come back for.” Go Chicken Go beat 15 other restaurants to win The Star’s monthlong fried chicken tournament, which racked up more than 20,000 votes. The fam and I agree: KFC has really gone downhill over the last decade or so. It's become a no go.
I like Popeye's spicy. I like Chick Fil A, but don't consider it a fried chicken place. The Publix deli has good bird, IMO. |

Popeyes.

Popeyes generally
But there is a place in NJ called Chicken and Rib Crib. I haven't been there in years, but it used to be awesome. |

When I looked up the recipe online, the sauce is a ketchup/mayo mix with some Worcherstire, black pepper, and other stuff thrown in. It's good, though. I usually get extra to dip my fries in as well. |

Your a fool if you are eating thier shitty pizza |
I know it's not logical, but I don't consider Chick-fil-A a chicken place, at least not in the traditional sense.
It's bomb as ****, though. Those waffle fries... |

Only fast food chicken I'll eat is chipotle or pepperjax chicken rice bowl or Wendy's grilled chicken wrap

I don't usually seek out fast food chicken. Is Boston Market fast food?

I lean towards Church's because I am more of a fan of the sides than the chicken itself. If I just want good chicken, I'll jist make it myself and do it better. The buttery honey biscuit game is definitely on point. Always thought Popeyes sides game was meh. I ate a famous bowl at KFC around 10 years ago and had uncontrollable shits for the next 12 hours. Eventually discovered that The Brew Top did a better take of it but the LS location closed :( |
Popeyes smells amazing

KFC left the 'Wood a decade ago, so when choosing to eat chicken out, it's tacos or Mediterranean food, which is fine by me. :D |
Blue Springs... Sweet T's Soul Food. It's in front of zardas BBQ. Call ahead and place your order. Everything is made on the spot. There fried chicken with some red beans and rice and cabbage is fantastic.
|
Maryland fried is my fave
|
Terrible choices down here in South FL. I don't count KFC or any other national chain as an option. Of all the places I've lived Dallas area has Babe's, OKC had Eischen's Bar in Okarche, and KC had the most choices of all.
|
Not necessarily traditional fast food, but quick service nonetheless, Honey Butter Fried Chicken in Chicago should be a must try for both locals and visitors. Spicy breaded fried chicken that comes with a side of honey butter that you put on the chicken prior to eating. Along with some house made hot sauce, it's a wonderful sweet/heat flavor bomb.
|
I haven't had fast food chicken in a long time. KFC is ****ing NASTY!!
Used to love Popeye's spicy, but they closed the franchise near me some time ago. |

Chick-Fil-A is first although I really enjoy Golden Chick or even Bush's Chicken although the appear to almost exclusively in Texas (Golden Chick is opening a location in Karachi Pakastan though :spock: ).
|
Go CHicken Go
Price CHoppers deli (amazing wings) |
I've never been impressed with Chik fil a. Never bad, just completely average. Their waffle fries are solid though.
|
There's a CFA on the ground floor of my building. It doesn't take very much CFA to get really tired of it.
|
I'd get a chicken biscuit from QT about 3x a year. Little dry, but if you got some hot sauce in your purse/glove box/desk drawer, it's not bad.
|
Kenny Rogers roasters
|
Popeyes
Lee's Fried Chicken |
I don't know if it's me or if the quality has gone down over the years. KFC when I was a kid was pretty good. Churches I used to like as a teen (I worked there). Both kind of suck now. Same with Pizza Hut.

The waffle fries were okay but I haven't had the urge to visit their restaurant in four years and that's not likely to change any time soon. |

If you're ever near a WhataBurger grab a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. It's off the chain. |
None of the above
