Flipped over from golf literally 1 minute after first pitch and we already had 2 outs

lewdog 07-17-2016 11:14 AM

A quick game today would be nice.

Hey man!

Weird out there today. I haven't seen a cloud in weeks!

Nightfyre 07-17-2016 11:19 AM

14 pitches to get through the first inning. Yeesh.

I know. We've had like almost 0 monsoon action so far

Munson 07-17-2016 11:26 AM

Cuthbert!

Why Not? 07-17-2016 11:26 AM

Cuthbert is quickly moving up my list of favorite players.

Jerok 07-17-2016 11:27 AM

Turned the game on just in time for a nice RBI double! Orlando is fast!

Simply Red 07-17-2016 11:27 AM

really digging Orlando - seems he's made for the game.

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 11:27 AM

Like absolutely zero. I've never seen a summer like this.

I miss the huge rains.

yeah - him too! Been a nice surprise, overall.

All aboard the Cuthbert train.

Why Not? 07-17-2016 11:42 AM

Nice work Hoz

painful to watch Alex this year

thebrad84 07-17-2016 11:50 AM

Oh Gordo, you've been such a disappointment this year

Why Not? 07-17-2016 11:51 AM

John Lamb demoted to AAA. Who's the guy that always laments trading those guys away?

RealSNR 07-17-2016 11:51 AM

Here I come just in time to watch Ventura **** it all up!

You know it's coming. Need to stockpile runs because no way Ventura avoids his typical 3 or 4 run shit inning.

tk13 07-17-2016 11:57 AM

Well it's not like they've hit him that hard. One bouncer over Cuthbert's head, one legit solid single, the other a dribble through the infield.

petegz28 07-17-2016 11:58 AM

Didn't see that last one..did Cuthbert **** it up?

petegz28 07-17-2016 11:59 AM

I don't know if that last pitch was stupid or ballsy...but wow that was a grand slam jack waiting to happen

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:00 PM

Someone warn Bundy that Colon will be in a shift here so he doesn't lose his mind again.

petegz28 07-17-2016 12:00 PM

balk??? WTF?

lewdog 07-17-2016 12:00 PM

And ****.

petegz28 07-17-2016 12:01 PM

that was a TERRIBLE CALL!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

KCUnited 07-17-2016 12:01 PM

I don't see it.

lewdog 07-17-2016 12:01 PM

Because he didn't get his hands set?

Looks like he did to me.

tk13 07-17-2016 12:01 PM

I don't know about that call. Two different umps called it though.

petegz28 07-17-2016 12:01 PM

Way to hang in there, Ace...**** YOU UMP!

Royals 2
Tigers 0
Ump's 1

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:02 PM

I hate the majority of balk calls.

Nightfyre 07-17-2016 12:02 PM

What a ****ing bullshit call.

Yeah, I think if two separate umps call it, it's probably legit.

SAUTO 07-17-2016 12:02 PM

No ****ing way that is a balk. Yo knew it. Glad he got out of that only allowing one

lewdog 07-17-2016 12:02 PM

Nice way to settle down and get that last out though.

Need to see the replay again though. Sure looked like he was set, but I don't know. Maybe there was something small we're missing.

petegz28 07-17-2016 12:06 PM

I don't understand why a balk is not reviewable, either?

That's kind of what I'm thinking.

petegz28 07-17-2016 12:07 PM

we say 2 Umps called it but one could have called and the other heard the one and chimed in to let everyone know a balk was being called

Dead ball play I guess?

Seems silly to me though.

Al Bundy 07-17-2016 12:08 PM

When the Tigers announcers are questioning the balk....

Meatloaf 07-17-2016 12:10 PM

Ticky-tack balk call.

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:10 PM

Brutal, Esky.

RealSNR 07-17-2016 12:10 PM

Good on Ventura to keep his cool through that and get that last out. Didn't even make a single reaction to the terrible balk call, either.

Jerok 07-17-2016 12:11 PM

Ventura showing up. Defense and Umps working against him.

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:12 PM

That's just pure laziness on Escobar's part. Pure. ****ing. Laziness.

Why Not? 07-17-2016 12:12 PM

Wow I'd be shocked if that stands

KCUnited 07-17-2016 12:12 PM

Safe

Why Not? 07-17-2016 12:13 PM

Safe. Not even close.

Simply Red 07-17-2016 12:13 PM

Yordano is on today!

that balk call was iffy at best.

Jerok 07-17-2016 12:17 PM

Even the Detriot radio guys didn't see the balk. "Dont see it. Great call, heck of a call though". Lol. We'd say the same thing though.

I've been listening to those guys some this weekend when I've had to run errands. Satellite radio only gives the home team broadcast. I gotta say......I kinda like em.

Simply Red 07-17-2016 12:26 PM

Looked like V man was simply anticipating a hop that never happened, didn't look out of laziness to me.

KCUnited 07-17-2016 12:27 PM

Dirty

The catch for the spa is that the rate of $39.95 for a 1-hour full body massage is that introductory pricing for first-time clients may vary by location.

Nightfyre 07-17-2016 12:36 PM

The Royals should just have Yordano pitching from the stretch all the time. I think his strikeout rate would improve.

His windup does not actually do anything for him and then he only has to focus on one method of delivery rather than two and pitching from the stretch is so much simpler.

It has definitely done wonders for Duffy. Yordano even began this season with a new delivery, then went back to his 2015 delivery after maybe two months of the season. Doesn't seem to do much for him.

Al Bundy 07-17-2016 12:41 PM

**** off Ventura.. you turd.

KCUnited 07-17-2016 12:41 PM

Yo ties it up.

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:42 PM

2016 Royals find wonderful ways to lose.

lewdog 07-17-2016 12:42 PM

Classic.

tk13 07-17-2016 12:42 PM

Balk and a wild pitch.

ChiTown 07-17-2016 12:42 PM

That run is on the OF that ****ing couldn't track down a routine hit ball: NFW that should have been a triple

Nightfyre 07-17-2016 12:42 PM

I don't know why anyone would call Ventura a turd after this game. He's been pretty clutch. We need some run support.

siberian khatru 07-17-2016 12:43 PM

**** me. Of course

Nightfyre 07-17-2016 12:45 PM

Seriously, Yordano has given up maybe 1 earned run. I mean, if the outfield handles that better and the ump doesn't make up a balk, YV is through the sixth with a shutout with like 80 pitch count.

Yeah. Not getting Hosmer home from 3rd with one out is probably gonna be our undoing. Well, that and the ****ery of the outfielders last inning

If we end this game with 2 runs, I can be this putrid offense to thank for another loss.

Al Bundy 07-17-2016 12:48 PM

Ventura was responsible for both runs. I was hoping that not getting Hosmer home wouldn't come back to haunt the Royals.

C3HIEF3S 07-17-2016 12:48 PM

Anything can be said about Ventura, he finds ways to lose. However, the offense has scored an immaculate two runs in their valiant effort.
