Beating Usain Bolt out of the blocks.

It took me about 20 tries, and when I did beat him at last, the message said, "You would have been disqualified because your reaction time was short enough that you would have been thought to false start", or something like that.

I was doing terrible on my computer, so I tried the phone. Way better. Got 00.003 seconds. I am the Wade Davis of sprinting.

She obviously is not a good judge of size.

Maybe, but would it hurt to bring her in for a look? A few hundred bucks in airfare, and if it turns out that she can, you've got an all-pro kick returner.

I like to think that there's someone out there who could shatter a world record, but they don't pay attention to it and assume that they're normal. There's some house painter out there who's leaping 9 feet onto his scaffolding every day, or some car mechanic who's lifting cars to move them around, and they have no idea that they're abnormal. Maybe this woman really runs a 7.5 and no one's ever watched her do it.

.147 on my second try but it was my first try with the sound on.

It's really not that much harder to just click when the numbers start ticking...

There's another video of this same woman being unbelievably stupid about something else (something about the number of slices in a pizza), so either it's an act or she's truly unbelievably stupid.

Took me 4 times and I got .003. Disqualified for being too fast. Pfff

If you’re upset that this competition is unfair, well, you may be right. Usain Bolt is the world’s fastest man. You, on the other hand, are just ears and a thumb as far as this quiz is concerned. But if there were a (short) list of speed-related things you could beat Usain Bolt at, his reaction time would be near the top.

In the 100-meter final in Rio on Sunday night, six of Bolt’s seven opponents reacted faster than he did:

I have never seen anything like Bolt. Best ever.

The announcer said it takes him something like 41 strides to finish the race and the others 44 strides. That is quite an advantage. So even when Gatlin beat him of the line and had a lead the first 3/4 of the race-Bolt caught him. Inhuman!

So I was playing around and decided to let the timer run and try to stop it on exactly 10 seconds.

So far 9.898 is my closest attempt.

.139 best try. I got a couple sub-.1, but the system says that's faster than humanly possible and I'm disqualified for a false start. And to be fair, I was trying to time the gun shot, not waiting for the gunshot before reacting.

The best I could do on the touchpad on my laptop by reacting to the gun and not anticipating it is about 0.25 seconds. Clearly I was not cut out for sprints.

Without trying to time the gunshot I seem to take roughly double the amount of time to react.

I remember a few of them around here. It would not surprise me if she wraps herself around an idea and can't get out. Just dumb.
