Nunez-Roches' hit on Shaw Dirty?

I've seen some discussion around the interwebs suggesting the hit that broke Shaw's leg was dirty. They didn't show a replay on TV. The only video I could find is here: http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2016/8...-broke-his-leg

Thoughts?

jjchieffan 08-28-2016 12:57 PM

Not any dirtier than Talibs late hit last night. Why isn't that being talked about?

KChiefs1 08-28-2016 12:59 PM

Not a dirty hit at all. He was just pulling him down.

Unecessary? Yea. Dirty? I don't see intent.

Easy 6 08-28-2016 01:00 PM

Shaw got pulled down awkwardly and nothing more, PERIOD

l4z4rd 08-28-2016 01:01 PM

Probably unintentional but very reckless.

notorious 08-28-2016 01:08 PM

Reverse the teams and tell us what your opinion is.

PunkinDrublic 08-28-2016 01:10 PM

I bet most Bears fans wish it happened to diabetes boy.

jspchief 08-28-2016 01:16 PM

I'd really like to see the play in real time instead of slow mo. Definitely a weird body position for a tackle but I don't see it as being intentional. It's hard to say why his legs ended up where they did.

ThaVirus 08-28-2016 01:16 PM

Dirty as shit.

RINGLEADER 08-28-2016 01:18 PM

To me a "dirty" play requires intent (Ben Davidson spears Lenny late) or profound stupidity (e.g. Suh and Haynesworth stomps).

Nunez-Roches was just trying to finish a play and while it may have not been necessary it's tough to hold-up when you're already so committed. It looks bad because the ball was gone, but how many times have you seen a QB pull down a ball at that point? There's no evidence he was trying to hurt the guy, despite what Shaw said on Twitter after the fact.

Bwana 08-28-2016 01:57 PM

I don't think so. Shaw just happened to end up with his leg in a freak position and pop.

So were the Bears as they kept jumping on players who were already stopped/grounded - **** that dude - Initially I felt bad for the kid - but after reading he'd indicated that it was cheap - Stay down bitch!

So a dozen posts in here, all saying that they don't think it's dirty and why. Then you jump in with "dirty as shit" with no explanation as to why you think it was dirty. Such credibility. We all respect your opinion when you are so e;eloquent in your response. SMH

Ming the Merciless 08-28-2016 02:35 PM

stupid or whatever maybe

but like others have said it seemed accidental and just a freakish thing

i bet he feels like shit

Chief Roundup 08-28-2016 03:00 PM

It is many negative things but dirty is not one of them.

Rasputin 08-28-2016 03:05 PM

What about the helmet hit Smith took under the chin by DL of the Bears? It was called roughing the passer I believe. That would be a cheap shot right?

Red Dawg 08-28-2016 03:11 PM

The damn Donkeys were laying down late hit after late hit. They are just dirtbags and play like they have no sense. Assholes.

Red Dawg 08-28-2016 03:13 PM

They as well put red jerseys on QBs in the pre season. Guys are taking cheap shots trying to look good for their coaches.

eDave 08-28-2016 03:46 PM

Not dirty. Unnecessary maybe.

scho63 08-28-2016 04:01 PM

At game speed it is not even close to being a dirty play. Considering there are now about 10 ways you CANNOT hit a QB this is far from one of those.

1. He didn't take a running 3-4 steps
2. He didn't use the crown of his helmet
3. He didn't pick up the QB and slam him to the ground
4. He didn't spear him after the play was long over.
5. Didn't use his forearm to him the QBs head

I see nothing bad except the accidental outcome

LOL

Who can say definitively? We don't know if there was intent or not. Looked to me like a dirty play. Looks to others like it wasn't.

What more can be said?

Ming the Merciless 08-28-2016 04:12 PM

He shouldn't have thrown him down after the play...but let's look full speed...there's no way this was intentional. He just bent weird

Buehler445 08-28-2016 04:50 PM

Yeah it's tough to say. There is a pile of bodies in there.

Dudes trying to make the team. It may be dirty, but I'd have probably done it too.

R Clark 08-28-2016 05:17 PM

Did anybody think they miss a couple of pass interference calls ? Looked like one on Macklin also on Conley .Seem pretty clear to me.

Man. I'm just now watching a replay of the game between the Denver Cheaters and the Whatever-city-they're-in-now Rams. Aqib Talib may be the dirtiest player in the league, even worse than Von Miller and TJ Ward. Talib is one of those cretins that I wouldn't want on my team in any manner. He's a once-per-generation lowlife.

srvy 08-28-2016 07:43 PM

About the only thing I see is he launched at the QB dirty I dont think so everyone is trying to make the ball club. I feel sorry he got his leg broke but blaming and pointing fingers on a bang bang play is classless.

I agree. It looks pretty dirty in slow-mo, but I'm sure it was more of a bang-bang play in real time.

ThaVirus 08-28-2016 08:50 PM

If Von Miller ever did that to Smith this board would go ape shit.

Not dirty. Just a guy trying to make an NFL roster.

Sent from my phone using Tapatalk (so spelling be damned!!!)

KCBOSS1 08-28-2016 11:18 PM

It would have been different if he had gone at the knees. Just unfortunate

redshirt32 08-28-2016 11:30 PM

Playing football with 300lbs coming at you , you have to be able move your feet . If QB is standing there watching the catch thinking nothing is going to happen ? Head on a swivel and move your feet, I do not see intent.
