No surprises thus far.

Nothing worth noting.

I don't expect to see any surprise cuts to get to 75. The bottom 15 aren't really on the bubble. They're on the outside looking in.

I think there's a chance Hammond makes the team.

Also, they aren't going to cut their lone long snapper.

I don't even know who their long snapper is this year. LMAO

Bah ... Hammond is a JAG and to make it even worse, he's a special teams JAG.

There has to be a guy with more potential that can learn/play special teams.

Hammond is basically Terrence Copper with punt return skills. They'll probably keep DAT over Hammond but DAT is made of glass so they may go that way instead. They need someone to back up Hill in the returns.

If they cut Winchester, they'll have to pick up a long snapper somewhere on the waiver wire.

DaneMcCloud 08-28-2016 06:22 PM

I understand that a lot of people don't hate on Hammond (which quite honestly, I don't get) but he has value as a returner/receiver so I hope that if they part ways with him, they can get a pick in return.

Guys like Hammond are a dime a dozen in this league.

Him getting cut would be a good sign for this team in terms of quality at the WR position.

Simply Red 08-28-2016 06:25 PM

I think it's funny that a user named 'chop' started a thread concerning cuts.

No, they're not.

His punt return average is one of the best in the league and better than DAT's.

While he probably doesn't make the Chiefs 53, he has value and IMO, more value that Albert ****ing Wilson and DAT, because DAT can't stay healthy,

He'll help a team in 2016.

Sandy Vagina 08-28-2016 06:32 PM

Out of that list, I was hoping Massaquoi could amount to something.. but nope. nbd

They will keep guys that are more about special teams than potential at their position. DAT is an okay returner/receiver (when healthy) but doesn't play on the coverage team, afaik. Wilson doesn't add anything to STs. It wouldn't shock me to see Hammond make the team over either (note - I am not pushing for the idea; just making observations).

It surprised me that Massaquoi showed absolutely nothing. I remember him making some plays in a reserve role in Atlanta.

I strongly dislike Wilson. If we want to talk about JAG's, he's the perfect example.

I'd take DAT, Hammond and Brown over Wilson.

What is your obsession with Hammond? He adds no value as a receiver, and he's average at best as a returner.

Because his 434 total career yards is better than Albert Wilson's 451 receiving yards last year. Duh.

Zach sterup will prolly be stashed after his suspension. The coaching staff likes him.

srvy 08-28-2016 08:25 PM

I just cant hate on Hammond he isnt flashy but he catches the ball and moves up field makes positive yards and doesnt put it on the ground. He isnt bad in ST coverage either. If he gets cut and I kinda think he sticks but if so he will be employed very quikly by another team.

It is possible to have a football discussion with Dane and even disagree with him. I have been doing it in several conversations. I have disagreed with him a few times and have agreed with him on other points. Not once have either of us called each other names or cussed at the other. Maybe Dane isn't the problem. I have seen him jump pretty hard on you Clay. And a couple of others. But for the most part, you had it coming by your history of being abrasive. Just try discussing your opinion. Respect what other people believe, and don't belabor it. This board will be a much more pleasant experience for all of us if you do.

Respect what other people believe, and don't belabor it. This board will be a much more pleasant experience for all of us if you do.

Dane is a douche to almost anyone who disagrees with him. It's established fact on this forum. It's practically his modus operandi. And he's ****ing proud of it.

You don't even have to be in a discussion with him. You can be watching a game on TV, make an idle comment, and he comes in and ****ing savages your post with a chainsaw, taking personal shots, even.

He's scum. I regret ever engaging him because he brings out my nasty side. I can only take so much of this ****stick.

Take your shot now, you california raisin. You know you can't resist. ****ing douche it up, champ.

I said he has more *value* due to his ability to return kicks and punts.

I'm late as heck now, but maybe obsession is a strong word.

I just know that anytime Hammond and cuts come up in the same sentence, you swoop in with all of these (barely arguable) reasons why he's valuable and can't be cut.

I don't see it, man. As someone mentioned, he's good in punt/kick coverage....but that's about the extent of his contribution. And over say that he has value as a receiver (which you did) is laughable.

If they cut Wislon it is good news for the Chiefs, he has made some good plays but .. some plays its like come on lay out and get grass stains and dirt in your face mask, sacrifice for the catch.

I just dont see them doing it though,

Wilson would be a great #4 and a serviceable #3. Cutting him wouldn't be the best idea.

Just roll with Maclin, Conley, Wilson, Hill, Robinson and maybe Streater if they keep 6 and get this show on the road.

Those plays where he doesn't lay out piss me off too, but at this point only Maclin is for sure better out of the wide receivers. All the others had less yards combined last year than Wilson. Conley looks better and that's why he is getting #2 WR snaps. All others though, it's debatable at best. There's a reason Wilson is still playing with the first team as the slot.
