Protocol: Throwing an apple core out your car window.
 

I was driving in a very rural area today, and I enjoyed a nice crisp apple while I drove.

Now, the challenge with apples and driving is that you eventually end up with an apple core, which most people don't eat. So I'm driving, and I think that I should throw the apple core out the window. It's 100 percent biodegradable, right?

But I couldn't do it. I'm so trained to not throw trash out the window that I couldn't do it. It wasn't even a fear of public shaming if someone saw and misunderstood; it was pure habit and training. I feel like it's actually probably more environmentally responsible to throw it out the window rather than putting it in a trash can and transporting it to a landfill. But I still couldn't do it.

What's your opinion on throwing apple cores out car windows?

Anytime that I eat a banana, I throw the peel out the window. When I eat an apple, I throw the core out the window. Actually, anytime that I am eating something and decide that I no longer want it, I throw it out the window.

But, only if there's a large grassy/nature area that I can throw it in. I don't throw things in streets or on highways, etc, etc. It's only into nature areas.

The best way to be sure you have apple trees along your route, is to throw apple cores out the window. This was how Johnny Appleseed was discovered.

i am going to start a campaign that encourages those who smoke pot to save their seeds, and when they make road trips to randomly throw them to the sides of the highways. well, those seeds they dont care to part with.

and yes, you are going to hell for not simply chucking it while driving. had you been pulled over, you could have been easily killed for mistaken apple/gun.

I threw a bag of boar semen out the window once but I didn't feel bad because the objective of hitting the passing truck was met.

I keep a trash bag in my car.

I also keep a refuse container in my vehicle.

Back when I smoked, I'd throw a cigar out the window, but not a cigarette. I toss apple cores as well, but throwing anything except a teenager out of the car doesn't feel quite right.

I got a $110 ticket for throwing a banana peel out the window. Yes, it was perfectly organic, and yes, it made it into the grass but no, the police officer didn't care. As far as he and my $110 were concerned, it was littering.

That said, as long as there was no cop right behind me, I'd still do it again.

There's absolutely no way I'd risk throwing a banana peel or apple outside of my car window while driving, as it would cost me $500 dollars or more.

Plus, I'm not a litterer and rarely, if ever, eat in the car.

My brother just totaled his car last week by a deer.

This summer I killed Bambi with my Tahoe but what I think is even more a nuisance are Armo****ingdilloes. I thought I would clear one but nope ****er jumped up and I had to replace my coolant reservoir. I bet what happened was some asshole through out an apple core out the window and it gathered bugs and the armo****ingdillo got into the middle of the road.

I walked home from the mall today through a residential neighborhood, and I saw an apple core lying against the curb.

If I threw a banana peel out, it would be both fascinating and horrifying if you ended up hitting a chimpanzee or gorilla.

I eat the entire apple at the times the GF slices it up for me. Otherwise I won't eat the core part.

Feel a little twinge about it, then I imagine the woodland creatures feasting on my apple remains, so I'll go ahead and toss it out anyway.

I throw tons of shit out the window in rural areas. Biodegradable or not. Never in a city though. But I text when I drive and dont care about the environment at all either

Yeah. Because I might get a fine for littering. Plus, trash in a city is more of an eyesore than some soda can sitting in a grassy ditch in the middle of nowhere BFE. I also do not care about seals and if they do not like swimming among plastic trash bags or not.

Oh yeah, I also mount my phone to my windshield and watch movies during long trips. Its absolutely fantastic and makes the trip go so much smoother.

I wouldn't do it myself but I have no problem if it's just an apple core. People that throw cigarette butts, QuikTrip cups or anything like that out of their car are terrible people and I hope their car explodes with them in it.

If it's edible I'll toss it out the window for nature to use. I'll generally try and throw it into a bush so it isn't a blight to the community for the few days it survives.

I don't think I'd worry about hitting a chimp or gorilla as much as actually car sliding on the banana peel that you threw out and lose control spinning round and round and then into the other lane and and get smashed by an 18 wheeler then other cars smash into the wreck causing 20+ car pile up and carnage blood and guts and death spilled all over the highway and it will be all your fault. :harumph:
